Aconteceu que, sempre que traziam o baú aos oficiais do rei pela mão dos levitas, e sempre que viam que havia muito dinheiro nele, o escriba do rei e o oficial do sumo sacerdote vinham e esvaziavam o baú, e o levavam de volta ao seu lugar. Fizeram isso dia após dia, juntando uma grande quantidade de dinheiro.
Y como venía el tiempo para llevar el arca al magistrado del rey por mano de los Levitas, cuando veían que había mucho dinero, venía el escriba del rey, y el que estaba puesto por el sumo sacerdote, y llevaban el arca, y vaciábanla, y volvíanla á su lugar: y así lo hacían de día en día, y recogían mucho dinero;
