Os seguidores da perversa Atalia e seus filhos tinham arruinado a casa de Deus, e tudo quanto era dedicado ao culto de Deus tinha sido levado para o templo dos ídolos do deus Baal.

Porque la impía Athalía y sus hijos habían destruído la casa de Dios, y además habían gastado en los ídolos todas las cosas consagradas á la casa de Jehová.

For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD did they bestow upon Baalim.
