Amazia sprach zu dem Manne Gottes: Was wird dann aber aus den hundert Talenten, die ich den israelitischen Truppen gegeben habe? Der Mann Gottes sprach: Der HERR hat dir noch mehr zu geben als nur das!

Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.

Aber Amazia gehorchte nicht; denn es war von Gott so gefügt, um sie in die Hand der Feinde zu geben, weil sie die Götter der Edomiter gesucht hatten.
