1El rey Ezequías envió cartas por todo Israel, Judá, Efraín y Manasés invitando a todos al templo de Jerusalén, para celebrar la Pascua.
2El rey, sus asistentes y toda la asamblea de Jerusalén habían acordado celebrar la Pascua, esta vez en el mes segundo, en vez de hacerlo en la fecha establecida, porque aún muchos sacerdotes no se habían purificado, de modo que no había suficientes para la celebración. Además, la gente no se había reunido en Jerusalén.

4El rey y sus consejeros estuvieron en completo acuerdo en cuanto a esto,
5de modo que proclamaron que se celebraría la Pascua, e invitaron a todos, desde Dan hasta Berseba. Hacía mucho tiempo que no se celebraba la Pascua de acuerdo con las normas establecidas.
6Así que los mensajeros recorrieron todo Israel y Judá, para dar a conocer a la gente el mensaje que contenían las cartas enviadas por el rey y sus oficiales. El mensaje era el siguiente: «Vuélvanse al Señor, Dios de Abraham, Isaac e Israel, para que él se vuelva a nosotros, los que hemos escapado del poder de los reyes de Asiria.
7No sean como sus padres y sus hermanos que pecaron contra el Señor, Dios de sus padres, y fueron destruidos, como ustedes bien lo saben.
8No sean soberbios como ellos, sino ríndanse al Señor y vengan a su santuario que ha santificado para siempre, y adoren al Señor, Dios de ustedes, para que su ira se aparte de ustedes.
9Porque si se vuelven al Señor, sus hermanos y sus hijos serán tratados con misericordia por sus captores, y podrán volver a su tierra. Porque el Señor, Dios de ustedes, es benigno y misericordioso, y no apartará su rostro de ustedes, si ustedes se vuelven a él».
10Los mensajeros, pues, fueron de ciudad en ciudad a través de Efraín, Manasés y hasta Zabulón. Pero en la mayor parte fueron recibidos con burlas y risas.
11Sin embargo, de las tribus de Aser, Manasés y Zabulón algunos se arrepintieron y vinieron a Jerusalén.
12Pero Dios puso en la gente de todo Judá el fuerte deseo de obedecer las órdenes del Señor, que recibían a través del rey y de las autoridades.
13Una gran multitud se reunió en Jerusalén, en el mes segundo, para celebrar la fiesta de los Panes sin levadura.
14Luego pusieron manos a la obra y destruyeron los altares paganos de Jerusalén, derribaron los altares paganos donde se quemaba incienso y los arrojaron al arroyo de Cedrón.
15El día catorce del mes segundo el pueblo comenzó la celebración de la fiesta de la Pascua. Entonces los sacerdotes y levitas sintieron vergüenza de sí mismos por no haber tomado una parte más activa, por lo que se santificaron y trajeron holocaustos al templo.
16Ocuparon sus puestos en la forma señalada por la ley de Moisés, varón de Dios, y los sacerdotes rociaron la sangre que recibían de los levitas.
17Puesto que muchos de los que llegaban de Efraín, Manasés, Isacar y Zabulón estaban ceremonialmente impuros, pues no habían cumplido con los ritos de la purificación, los levitas mataron los corderos de la Pascua, para santificarlos. Entonces el rey Ezequías oró por ellos, y se les permitió comer la Pascua, aun cuando esto no se conformaba con las reglas dadas por Dios. Pero Ezequías dijo: «Señor, Dios de nuestros antepasados, te suplico que perdones a todos aquellos que con toda sinceridad han decidido buscarte, aunque no se hayan purificado de acuerdo con las normas que nos has dado para santificarnos».

20Y el Señor oyó la oración de Ezequías, y perdonó a la gente.
21El pueblo de Israel, pues, celebró la fiesta de los Panes sin levadura en Jerusalén durante siete días con gran gozo, en tanto que los sacerdotes y levitas alababan al Señor con música y címbalos cada día.
22(El rey Ezequías felicitó a los levitas por aquella excelente música, pues de verdad habían puesto todo su empeño en adorar al Señor). Durante siete días celebraron la fiesta y presentaron ofrendas de paz, y el pueblo confesó sus pecados al Señor, Dios de sus padres.
23Era tanta la alegría, que todos estuvieron de acuerdo en continuar la fiesta por otros siete días más.
24El rey Ezequías había dado al pueblo mil becerros para ofrendas y siete mil ovejas; y los príncipes donaron mil becerros y diez mil ovejas. Esta vez, muchos sacerdotes estuvieron dispuestos a purificarse.
25El pueblo de Judá se llenó de profundo gozo, junto con los sacerdotes, los levitas, los extranjeros y los visitantes de Israel.
26Jerusalén no había visto una celebración como esta desde los días de Salomón, hijo del rey David.
27Los sacerdotes y levitas se pusieron de pie y bendijeron al pueblo, y sus oraciones llegaron hasta la santa morada de Dios en los cielos.

1ENVIÓ también Ezechîas por todo Israel y Judá, y escribió letras á Ephraim y Manasés, que viniesen á Jerusalem á la casa de Jehová, para celebrar la pascua á Jehová Dios de Israel.
2Y había el rey tomado consejo con sus príncipes, y con toda la congregación en Jerusalem, para celebrar la pascua en el mes segundo:
3Porque entonces no la podían celebrar, por cuanto no había suficientes sacerdotes santificados, ni el pueblo estaba junto en Jerusalem.
4Esto agradó al rey y á toda la multitud.
5Y determinaron hacer pasar pregón por todo Israel, desde Beer-seba hasta Dan, para que viniesen á celebrar la pascua á Jehová Dios de Israel, en Jerusalem: porque en mucho tiempo no la habían celebrado al modo que está escrito.
6Fueron pues correos con letras de mano del rey y de sus príncipes por todo Israel y Judá, como el rey lo había mandado, y decían: Hijos de Israel, volveos á Jehová el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac, y de Israel, y él se volverá á las reliquias que os han quedado de la mano de los reyes de Asiria.
7No seáis como vuestros padres y como vuestros hermanos, que se rebelaron contra Jehová el Dios de sus padres, y él los entregó á desolación, como vosotros veis.
8No endurezcáis pues ahora vuestra cerviz como vuestros padres: dad la mano á Jehová, y venid á su santuario, el cual él ha santificado para siempre; y servid á Jehová vuestro Dios, y la ira de su furor se apartará de vosotros.
9Porque si os volviereis á Jehová, vuestros hermanos y vuestros hijos hallarán misericordia delante de los que los tienen cautivos, y volverán á esta tierra: porque Jehová vuestro Dios es clemente y misericordioso, y no volverá de vosotros su rostro, si vosotros os volviereis á él.
10Pasaron pues los correos de ciudad en ciudad por la tierra de Ephraim y Manasés, hasta Zabulón: mas se reían y burlaban de ellos.
11Con todo eso, algunos hombres de Aser, de Manasés, y de Zabulón, se humillaron, y vinieron á Jerusalem.
12En Judá también fué la mano de Dios para darles un corazón para cumplir el mensaje del rey y de los príncipes, conforme á la palabra de Jehová.
13Y juntóse en Jerusalem mucha gente para celebrar la solemnidad de los ázimos en el mes segundo; una vasta reunión.
14Y levantándose, quitaron los altares que había en Jerusalem; quitaron también todos los altares de perfumes, y echáronlos en el torrente de Cedrón.
15Entonces sacrificaron la pascua, á los catorce del mes segundo; y los sacerdotes y los Levitas se santificaron con vergüenza, y trajeron los holocaustos á la casa de Jehová.
16Y pusiéronse en su orden conforme á su costumbre, conforme á la ley de Moisés varón de Dios; los sacerdotes esparcían la sangre que recibían de manos de los Levitas:
17Porque había muchos en la congregación que no estaban santificados, y por eso los Levitas sacrificaban la pascua por todos los que no se habían limpiado, para santificarlos á Jehová.
18Porque una gran multitud del pueblo de Ephraim y Manasés, y de Issachâr y Zabulón, no se habían purificado, y comieron la pascua no conforme á lo que está escrito. Mas Ezechîas oró por ellos, diciendo: Jehová, que es bueno, sea propicio á todo aquel que ha apercibido su corazón para buscar á Dios,
19A Jehová el Dios de sus padres, aunque no esté purificado según la purificación del santuario.
20Y oyó Jehová á Ezechîas, y sanó al pueblo.
21Así celebraron los hijos de Israel que se hallaron en Jerusalem, la solemnidad de los panes sin levadura por siete días con grande gozo: y alababan á Jehová todos los días los Levitas y los sacerdotes, cantando con instrumentos de fortaleza á Jehová.
22Y habló Ezechîas al corazón de todos los Levitas que tenían buena inteligencia en el servicio de Jehová. Y comieron de lo sacrificado en la solemnidad por siete días, ofreciendo sacrificios pacíficos, y dando gracias á Jehová el Dios de sus padres.
23Y toda aquella multitud determinó que celebrasen otros siete días; y celebraron otros siete días con alegría.
24Porque Ezechîas rey de Judá había dado á la multitud mil novillos y siete mil ovejas; y también los príncipes dieron al pueblo mil novillos y diez mil ovejas: y muchos sacerdotes se santificaron.
25Alegróse pues toda la congregación de Judá, como también los sacerdotes y Levitas, y toda la multitud que había venido de Israel; asimismo los extranjeros que habían venido de la tierra de Israel, y los que habitaban en Judá.
26E hiciéronse grandes alegrías en Jerusalem: porque desde los días de Salomón hijo de David rey de Israel, no había habido cosa tal en Jerusalem.
27Levantándose después los sacerdotes y Levitas, bendijeron al pueblo: y la voz de ellos fué oída, y su oración llegó á la habitación de su santuario, al cielo.

1And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel.
2For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.
3For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.
4And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation.
5So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beer-sheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written.
6So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.
7And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
8Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
9For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.
10So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.
11Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.
12Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.
13And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.
14And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.
15Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.
16And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites.
17For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the LORD.
18For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one
19That prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.
20And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.
21And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments unto the LORD.
22And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.
23And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept other seven days with gladness.
24For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.
25And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.
26So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.
27Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

1Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the LORD’s house at Jerusalem, to keep the Passover to the LORD, the God of Israel.
2For the king had taken counsel with his princes and all the assembly in Jerusalem to keep the Passover in the second month.
3For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves in sufficient number, and the people had not gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.
4The thing was right in the eyes of the king and of all the assembly.
5So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the Passover to the LORD, the God of Israel, at Jerusalem, for they had not kept it in great numbers in the way it is written.

21The children of Israel who were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness. The Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments to the LORD.
22Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who had good understanding in the service of the LORD. So they ate throughout the feast for the seven days, offering sacrifices of peace offerings and making confession to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
23The whole assembly took counsel to keep another seven days, and they kept another seven days with gladness.
24For Hezekiah king of Judah gave to the assembly for offerings one thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep; and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.
25All the assembly of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the assembly who came out of Israel, and the foreigners who came out of the land of Israel and who lived in Judah, rejoiced.
26So there was great joy in Jerusalem; for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was nothing like this in Jerusalem.
27Then the Levitical priests arose and blessed the people. Their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy habitation, even to heaven.
