1Luego comenzó una intensa campaña contra la adoración de ídolos. Los israelitas que se hallaban presentes se dirigieron a las ciudades de Judá, Benjamín, Efraín y Manasés y destruyeron los altares paganos, los ídolos, las imágenes abominables de la diosa Aserá y todos los centros paganos de adoración. Luego las personas que habían venido de las tribus del norte a celebrar la Pascua regresaron a sus tierras.

1Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.
