Al terminar la fiesta, todos los israelitas que estaban allí fueron a las ciudades de Judá e hicieron pedazos las piedras sagradas, cortaron las imágenes de la diosa Asera y destruyeron todos los santuarios y altares paganos en todo el territorio de Judá, Benjamín, Efraín y Manasés. Después de destruir todo eso, los israelitas regresaron a sus casas, cada uno a su propia ciudad.
HECHAS todas estas cosas, todos los de Israel que se habían hallado allí, salieron por las ciudades de Judá, y quebraron las estatuas y destruyeron los bosques, y derribaron los altos y los altares por todo Judá y Benjamín, y también en Ephraim y Manasés, hasta acabarlo todo. Después volviéronse todos los hijos de Israel, cada uno á su posesión y á sus ciudades.
Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

Ezequías reorganizó los turnos de los sacerdotes y de los levitas, de acuerdo con las tareas de cada quien, para que ofrecieran los holocaustos y los sacrificios de paz, y para que sirvieran, dieran gracias y cantaran alabanzas en las puertas del templo de Yahvé.

A más de los varones anotados por sus linajes, de tres años arriba, á todos los que entraban en la casa de Jehová, su porción diaria por su ministerio, según sus oficios y clases;

El registro de los sacerdotes se llevaba por familias, y el de los levitas de veinte años para arriba, se llevaba según sus tareas y sus turnos.

Incluso para los sacerdotes, descendientes de Aarón, que vivían en los campos de pastoreo alrededor de las ciudades, había hombres nombrados específicamente para repartirles las porciones de comida a todos los hombres de las familias sacerdotales y a todos los levitas que estaban en los registros.
Del mismo modo en orden á los hijos de Aarón, sacerdotes, que estaban en los ejidos de sus ciudades, por todas las ciudades, los varones nombrados tenían cargo de dar sus porciones á todos los varones de los sacerdotes, y á todo el linaje de los Levitas.
