Palabra de Dios para Ti
1Manasés tenía 12 años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó 55 años en Jerusalén.
2Hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Yavé, en conformidad con las repugnancias de las naciones que Yavé expulsó de delante de los hijos de Israel.
3Pues él reedificó los lugares altos que su padre Ezequías destruyó, levantó altares a los baales, hizo Aseras, se postró ante toda la hueste del cielo y les sirvió.
4Edificó altares en la Casa de Yavé, de la cual Yavé dijo: En Jerusalén permanecerá mi Nombre para siempre.
5También edificó altares a toda la hueste del cielo en los dos patios de la Casa de Yavé.
6Ordenó pasar a sus hijos por el fuego en el valle del hijo de Hinom. Practicó la magia, la brujería y la hechicería, evocó a espíritus de muertos y practicó el espiritismo. Abundó en hacer lo malo ante Yavé y lo provocó a ira.
7Además puso la imagen tallada del ídolo que hizo en la Casa de ʼElohim, de la cual ʼElohim dijo a David y su hijo Salomón: En esta Casa y en Jerusalén, la cual Yo escogí entre todas las tribus de Israel, estará mi Nombre para siempre.
8No volveré a quitar el pie de Israel de la tierra que di a sus antepasados, con tal que se cuiden de practicar todo lo que les ordené por medio de Moisés con respecto a toda la Ley, los Estatutos y las Ordenanzas.
9Pero Manasés indujo a Judá y a los habitantes de Jerusalén a proceder peor que las naciones que Yavé destruyó ante los hijos de Israel.
10Yavé habló a Manasés y a su pueblo, pero ellos no escucharon.
11Por tanto, Yavé llevó contra ellos a los jefes del ejército del rey de Asiria, quienes encadenaron con grillos de bronce a Manasés y lo llevaron a Babilonia.
12Cuando estaba en angustia, oró a Yavé su ʼElohim y se humilló grandemente ante el ʼElohim de sus antepasados.
13Cuando Manasés oró, Él fue movido por la súplica, escuchó su clamor y lo devolvió a Jerusalén, a su reino. Y Manasés reconoció que solo Yavé es ʼElohim.
14Después de esto, construyó el muro exterior de la Ciudad de David, en el valle al occidente de Gihón, y hasta la entrada de la puerta de los Peces, alrededor de Ofel. Elevó el muro a gran altura y colocó jefes del ejército en todas las ciudades fortificadas de Judá.
15Quitó los ʼelohim extraños, el ídolo de la Casa de Yavé y todos los altares que construyó en la Montaña de la Casa de Yavé y en Jerusalén. Los echó fuera de la ciudad.
16Después reconstruyó el altar de Yavé y ofreció en él sacrificios de paz y de gratitud. Ordenó a Judá que sirviera a Yavé, el ʼElohim de Israel.
17Sin embargo, el pueblo siguió ofreciendo sacrificios en los lugares altos, aunque solo a Yavé su ʼElohim.
18Los demás hechos de Manasés, sus súplicas a su ʼElohim y las Palabras de los videntes que le hablaron en Nombre de Yavé ʼElohim de Israel, ciertamente están escritos en las crónicas de los Reyes de Israel.
19Su oración y cómo fue atendido, todo su pecado, su infidelidad y los sitios donde edificó lugares altos y erigió Aseras y otras imágenes talladas antes de humillarse, ciertamente están escritos en las crónicas de los videntes.
20Manasés descansó con sus antepasados y lo sepultaron en su propia casa. Su hijo Amón reinó en su lugar.
21Amón tenía 22 años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalén.
22Practicó lo malo ante Yavé, como su padre Manasés, pues Amón ofreció sacrificios a todos los ídolos de talla que su padre Manasés estableció, y les sirvió.
23Pero no se humilló delante de Yavé como se humilló su padre Manasés, sino Amón aumentó su culpa.
24Sus esclavos conspiraron contra él y lo asesinaron en su propia casa.
25Pero el pueblo de la tierra mató a todos los que conspiraron contra el rey Amón y proclamó a su hijo Josías como rey.

1DE DOCE años era Manasés cuando comenzó á reinar, y cincuenta y cinco años reinó en Jerusalem.
2Mas hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, conforme á las abominaciones de las gentes que había echado Jehová delante de los hijos de Israel:
3Porque él reedificó los altos que Ezechîas su padre había derribado, y levantó altares á los Baales, é hizo bosques, y adoró á todo el ejército de los cielos, y á él sirvió.
4Edificó también altares en la casa de Jehová, de la cual había dicho Jehová: En Jerusalem será mi nombre perpetuamente.
5Edificó asimismo altares á todo el ejército de los cielos en los dos atrios de la casa de Jehová.
6Y pasó sus hijos por fuego en el valle de los hijos de Hinnom; y miraba en los tiempos, miraba en agüeros, era dado á adivinaciones, y consultaba pythones y encantadores: subió de punto en hacer lo malo en ojos de Jehová, para irritarle.
7A más de esto puso una imagen de fundición, que hizo, en la casa de Dios, de la cual había dicho Dios á David y á Salomón su hijo: En esta casa y en Jerusalem, la cual yo elegí sobre todas las tribus de Israel, pondré mi nombre para siempre:
8Y nunca más quitaré el pie de Israel de la tierra que yo entregué á vuestros padres, á condición que guarden y hagan todas las cosas que yo les he mandado, toda la ley, estatutos, y ordenanzas, por mano de Moisés.
9Hizo pues Manasés desviarse á Judá y á los moradores de Jerusalem, para hacer más mal que las gentes que Jehová destruyó delante de los hijos de Israel.
10Y habló Jehová á Manasés y á su pueblo, mas ellos no escucharon: por lo cual Jehová trajo contra ellos los generales del ejército del rey de los Asirios, los cuales aprisionaron con grillos á Manasés, y atado con cadenas lleváronlo á Babilonia.
11Mas luego que fué puesto en angustias, oró ante Jehová su Dios, humillado grandemente en la presencia del Dios de sus padres.
12Y habiendo á él orado, fué atendido; pues que oyó su oración, y volviólo á Jerusalem, á su reino. Entonces conoció Manasés que Jehová era Dios.
13Después de esto edificó el muro de afuera de la ciudad de David, al occidente de Gihón, en el valle, á la entrada de la puerta del pescado, y cercó á Ophel, y alzólo muy alto; y puso capitanes de ejército en todas las ciudades fuertes por Judá.
14Asimismo quitó los dioses ajenos, y el ídolo de la casa de Jehová, y todos los altares que había edificado en el monte de la casa de Jehová y en Jerusalem, y echólos fuera de la ciudad.
15Reparó luego el altar de Jehová, y sacrificó sobre él sacrificios pacíficos y de alabanza; y mandó á Judá que sirviesen á Jehová Dios de Israel.
16Empero el pueblo aun sacrificaba en los altos, bien que á Jehová su Dios.
17Lo demás de los hechos de Manasés, y su oración á su Dios, y las palabras de los videntes que le hablaron en nombre de Jehová el Dios de Israel, he aquí todo está escrito en los hechos de los reyes de Israel.
18Su oración también, y cómo fué oído, todos sus pecados, y su prevaricación, los lugares donde edificó altos y había puesto bosques é ídolos antes que se humillase, he aquí estas cosas están escritas en las palabras de los videntes.
19Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y sepultáronlo en su casa: y reinó en su lugar Amón su hijo.
20De veinte y dos años era Amón cuando comenzó á reinar, y dos años reinó en Jerusalem.
21E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como había hecho Manasés su padre: porque á todos los ídolos que su padre Manasés había hecho, sacrificó y sirvió Amón.
22Mas nunca se humilló delante de Jehová, como se humilló Manasés su padre: antes aumentó el pecado.
23Y conspiraron contra él sus siervos, y matáronlo en su casa.
24Mas el pueblo de la tierra hirió á todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón; y el pueblo de la tierra puso por rey en su lugar á Josías su hijo.

1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
2But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
3For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
4Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
5And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
6And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
7And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
8Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
9So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.
10And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
11Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
12And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
13And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.
14Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.
15And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
16And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.
17Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the LORD their God only.
18Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.
19His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.
20So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
21Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.
22But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
23And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
24And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
25But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

16He built up the LORD’s altar, and offered sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving on it, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD, the God of Israel.
17Nevertheless the people still sacrificed in the high places, but only to the LORD their God.
