Así que Dios hizo que el rey de los babilonios los atacara. Este rey masacró a los jóvenes a espada allí mismo dentro del santuario. No tuvo compasión de nadie: mató a jóvenes y muchachas, a ancianos y a los que estaban enfermos. Dios entregó a todos en las manos del rey babilonio.
Por lo cual trajo contra ellos al rey de los Caldeos, que mató á cuchillo sus mancebos en la casa de su santuario, sin perdonar joven, ni doncella, ni viejo, ni decrépito; todos los entregó en sus manos.
