22Pero en el primer año del reinado de Ciro, rey de Persia, el Señor hizo que el rey promulgara un decreto, tanto de forma oral como por escrito, permitiendo que los cautivos de Judá pudieran regresar a su tierra. De esa manera el Señor cumplió lo que había dicho por medio del profeta Jeremías. Este decreto, que se dio a conocer en todo el imperio persa, decía:
