1Le peuple du pays prit Joachaz, fils de Josias, et l’établit roi à la place de son père à Jérusalem.
2Joachaz avait vingt-trois ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna trois mois à Jérusalem.
3Le roi d’Égypte le destitua à Jérusalem, et frappa le pays d’une contribution de cent talents d’argent et d’un talent d’or.
4Et le roi d’Égypte établit roi sur Juda et sur Jérusalem Éliakim, frère de Joachaz; et il changea son nom en celui de Jojakim. Néco prit son frère Joachaz, et l’emmena en Égypte.
5Jojakim avait vingt-cinq ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem. Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, son Dieu.
6Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, monta contre lui, et le lia avec des chaînes d’airain pour le conduire à Babylone.
7Nebucadnetsar emporta à Babylone des ustensiles de la maison de l’Éternel, et il les mit dans son palais à Babylone.
8Le reste des actions de Jojakim, les abominations qu’il commit, et ce qui se trouvait en lui, cela est écrit dans le livre des rois d’Israël et de Juda. Et Jojakin, son fils, régna à sa place.
9Jojakin avait huit ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna trois mois et dix jours à Jérusalem. Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel.
10L’année suivante, le roi Nebucadnetsar le fit emmener à Babylone avec les ustensiles précieux de la maison de l’Éternel. Et il établit roi sur Juda et sur Jérusalem Sédécias, frère de Jojakin.
11Sédécias avait vingt et un ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem.
12Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, son Dieu; et il ne s’humilia point devant Jérémie, le prophète, qui lui parlait de la part de l’Éternel.
13Il se révolta même contre le roi Nebucadnetsar, qui l’avait fait jurer par le nom de Dieu; et il raidit son cou et endurcit son cœur, au point de ne pas retourner à l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël.
14Tous les chefs des sacrificateurs et le peuple multiplièrent aussi les transgressions, selon toutes les abominations des nations; et ils profanèrent la maison de l’Éternel, qu’il avait sanctifiée à Jérusalem.
15L’Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères, donna de bonne heure à ses envoyés la mission de les avertir, car il voulait épargner son peuple et sa propre demeure.
16Mais ils se moquèrent des envoyés de Dieu, ils méprisèrent ses paroles, et ils se raillèrent de ses prophètes, jusqu’à ce que la colère de l’Éternel contre son peuple devînt sans remède.
17Alors l’Éternel fit monter contre eux le roi des Chaldéens, et tua par l’épée leurs jeunes gens dans la maison de leur sanctuaire; il n’épargna ni le jeune homme, ni la jeune fille, ni le vieillard, ni l’homme aux cheveux blancs, il livra tout entre ses mains.
18Nebucadnetsar emporta à Babylone tous les ustensiles de la maison de Dieu, grands et petits, les trésors de la maison de l’Éternel, et les trésors du roi et de ses chefs.
19Ils brûlèrent la maison de Dieu, ils démolirent les murailles de Jérusalem, ils livrèrent au feu tous ses palais et détruisirent tous les objets précieux.
20Nebucadnetsar emmena captifs à Babylone ceux qui échappèrent à l’épée; et ils lui furent assujettis, à lui et à ses fils, jusqu’à la domination du royaume de Perse,
21afin que s’accomplît la parole de l’Éternel prononcée par la bouche de Jérémie; jusqu’à ce que le pays eût joui de ses sabbats, il se reposa tout le temps qu’il fut dévasté, jusqu’à l’accomplissement de soixante-dix ans.
22La première année de Cyrus, roi de Perse, afin que s’accomplît la parole de l’Éternel prononcée par la bouche de Jérémie, l’Éternel réveilla l’esprit de Cyrus, roi de Perse, qui fit faire de vive voix et par écrit cette publication dans tout son royaume:
23Ainsi parle Cyrus, roi de Perse: L’Éternel, le Dieu des cieux, m’a donné tous les royaumes de la terre, et il m’a commandé de lui bâtir une maison à Jérusalem en Juda. Qui d’entre vous est de son peuple? Que l’Éternel, son Dieu, soit avec lui, et qu’il monte!

1ENTONCES el pueblo de la tierra tomó á Joachâz hijo de Josías, é hiciéronle rey en lugar de su padre en Jerusalem.
2De veinte y tres años era Joachâz cuando comenzó á reinar, y tres meses reinó en Jerusalem.
3Y el rey de Egipto lo quitó de Jerusalem, y condenó la tierra en cien talentos de plata y uno de oro.
4Y constituyó el rey de Egipto á su hermano Eliacim por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalem, y mudóle el nombre en Joacim; y á Joachâz su hermano tomó Nechâo, y llevólo á Egipto.
5Cuando comenzó á reinar Joacim era de veinte y cinco años, y reinó once años en Jerusalem: é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová su Dios.
6Y subió contra él Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, y atado con cadenas lo llevó á Babilonia.
7También llevó Nabucodonosor á Babilonia de los vasos de la casa de Jehová, y púsolos en su templo en Babilonia.
8Lo demás de los hechos de Joacim, y las abominaciones que hizo, y lo que en él se halló, he aquí está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá: y reinó en su lugar Joachîn su hijo.
9De ocho años era Joachîn cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó tres meses y diez días en Jerusalem: é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
10A la vuelta del año el rey Nabucodonosor envió, é hízolo llevar á Babilonia juntamente con los vasos preciosos de la casa de Jehová; y constituyó á Sedecías su hermano por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalem.
11De veinte y un años era Sedecías cuando comenzó á reinar, y once años reinó en Jerusalem.
12E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová su Dios, y no se humilló delante de Jeremías profeta, que le hablaba de parte de Jehová.
13Rebelóse asimismo contra Nabucodonosor, al cual había jurado por Dios; y endureció su cerviz, y obstinó su corazón, para no volverse á Jehová el Dios de Israel.
14Y también todos los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y el pueblo, aumentaron la prevaricación, siguiendo todas las abominaciones de las gentes, y contaminando la casa de Jehová, la cual él había santificado en Jerusalem.
15Y Jehová el Dios de sus padres envió á ellos por mano de sus mensajeros, levantándose de mañana y enviando: porque él tenía misericordia de su pueblo, y de su habitación.
16Mas ellos hacían escarnio de los mensajeros de Dios, y menospreciaban sus palabras, burlándose de sus profetas, hasta que subió el furor de Jehová contra su pueblo, y que no hubo remedio.
17Por lo cual trajo contra ellos al rey de los Caldeos, que mató á cuchillo sus mancebos en la casa de su santuario, sin perdonar joven, ni doncella, ni viejo, ni decrépito; todos los entregó en sus manos.
18Asimismo todos los vasos de la casa de Dios, grandes y chicos, los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros del rey y de sus príncipes, todo lo llevó á Babilonia.
19Y quemaron la casa de Dios, y rompieron el muro de Jerusalem, y consumieron al fuego todos sus palacios, y destruyeron todos sus vasos deseables.
20Los que quedaron del cuchillo, pasáronlos á Babilonia; y fueron siervos de él y de sus hijos, hasta que vino el reino de los Persas;
21Para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová por la boca de Jeremías, hasta que la tierra hubo gozado sus sábados: porque todo el tiempo de su asolamiento reposó, hasta que los setenta años fueron cumplidos.
22Mas al primer año de Ciro rey de los Persas, para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová por boca de Jeremías, Jehová excitó el espíritu de Ciro rey de los Persas, el cual hizo pasar pregón por todo su reino, y también por escrito, diciendo:
23Así dice Ciro rey de los Persas: Jehová, el Dios de los cielos, me ha dado todos los reinos de la tierra; y él me ha encargado que le edifique casa en Jerusalem, que es en Judá. ¿Quién de vosotros hay de todo su pueblo? Jehová su Dios sea con él, y suba.

1Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s stead in Jerusalem.
2Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
3And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
4And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
5Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.
6Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.
7Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.
8Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
9Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
10And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
11Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.
12And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.
13And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.
14Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
15And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
16But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
17Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.
18And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.
19And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.
20And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
21To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
22Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
23Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.
