Toda la obra de Salomón se llevó a feliz término, desde el día que se echaron los cimientos del templo, hasta su terminación. De modo que el templo del Señor quedó completamente terminado.
Porque toda la obra de Salomón estaba preparada desde el día en que la casa de Jehová fué fundada hasta que se acabó, hasta que la casa de Jehová fué acabada del todo.

Entonces Salomón se fue a Ezión Guéber y a Elat, que son puertos de la costa ubicados en Edom, a tomar posesión de una flota de barcos que le regaló el rey Hiram. Con la experimentada tripulación de Hiram trabajando junto a las cuadrillas de Salomón, estos barcos fueron a Ofir y regresaron con unos quince mil kilos de oro.
