because it is said, “His letters are severe and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak and his speech is of no account.”

Porque á la verdad, dicen, las cartas son graves y fuertes; mas la presencia corporal flaca, y la palabra menospreciable.

For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

For, “His letters”, they say, “are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech is despised.”
