2 Corintios 10

Persönlich aber ermahne ich, Paulus, euch mit dem Hinweis auf die Sanftmut und Milde Christi, ich, der ich (angeblich) »Auge in Auge zwar demütig bei euch bin, aus der Ferne aber mich selbstbewußt gegen euch zeige«.

EMPERO yo Pablo, os ruego por la mansedumbre y modestia de Cristo, yo que presente ciertamente soy bajo entre vosotros, mas ausente soy confiado entre vosotros:

Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.

Ich bitte (euch) nur: (Zwingt mich nicht dazu) bei meiner Anwesenheit Selbstbewußtsein beweisen zu müssen in der Zuversicht, die ich mir gegen gewisse Leute herauszunehmen gedenke, die da von uns die Meinung haben, daß »wir einen Wandel nach dem Fleische führen«.

Ruego pues, que cuando estuviere presente, no tenga que ser atrevido con la confianza con que estoy en ánimo de ser resuelto para con algunos, que nos tienen como si anduviésemos según la carne.

But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

Yes, I beg you that I may not, when present, show courage with the confidence with which I intend to be bold against some, who consider us to be walking according to the flesh.

Ja, wir wandeln wohl im Fleische, führen aber unsern Kampf nicht nach Fleischesart;

Pues aunque andamos en la carne, no militamos según la carne,

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh;

denn die Waffen, mit denen wir kämpfen, sind nicht fleischlicher Art, sondern starke Gotteswaffen zur Zerstörung von Bollwerken: wir zerstören mit ihnen klug ausgedachte Anschläge

(Porque las armas de nuestra milicia no son carnales, sino poderosas en Dios para la destrucción de fortalezas;)

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds,

und jede hohe Burg, die sich gegen die Erkenntnis Gottes erhebt, und nehmen alles Sinnen in den Gehorsam gegen Christus gefangen

Destruyendo consejos, y toda altura que se levanta contra la ciencia de Dios, y cautivando todo intento á la obediencia de Cristo;

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

und halten uns bereit, jeden Ungehorsam zu bestrafen, sobald nur erst euer Gehorsam völlig wiederhergestellt ist.

Y estando prestos para castigar toda desobediencia, cuando vuestra obediencia fuere cumplida.

And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience when your obedience is made full.

Sehet doch auf das, was vor Augen liegt! Wenn jemand von sich selbst die feste Überzeugung hat, daß er für seine Person Christus angehört, so möge er andererseits auch dies bei sich bedenken, daß ebenso gut wie er selbst auch wir Christus angehören.

Miráis las cosas según la apariencia. Si alguno está confiado en sí mismo que es de Cristo, esto también piense por sí mismo, que como él es de Cristo, así también nosotros somos de Cristo.

Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s.

Do you look at things only as they appear in front of your face? If anyone trusts in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again with himself, that even as he is Christ’s, so we also are Christ’s.

Ja, wenn ich mich noch etwas stärker bezüglich meiner Befugnis rühmen wollte, die der Herr mir zu eurer »Auferbauung«, nicht zu eurer »Zerstörung« verliehen hat, so würde ich damit nicht zuschanden werden,

Porque aunque me gloríe aún un poco de nuestra potestad (la cual el Señor nos dió para edificación y no para vuestra destrucción), no me avergonzaré;

For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:

For even if I boast somewhat abundantly concerning our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for casting you down, I will not be ashamed,

und es würde sich nicht herausstellen, daß ich euch durch meine Briefe gewissermaßen einzuschüchtern suche.

Porque no parezca como que os quiero espantar por cartas.

That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.

that I may not seem as if I desire to terrify you by my letters.

Denn »seine Briefe«, sagt man, »sind allerdings wuchtig und kraftvoll, aber sein persönliches Auftreten ist schwächlich, und reden kann er gar nicht«.

Porque á la verdad, dicen, las cartas son graves y fuertes; mas la presencia corporal flaca, y la palabra menospreciable.

For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

For, “His letters”, they say, “are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech is despised.”

Wer so redet, möge sich folgendes gesagt sein lassen: Wie wir uns aus der Ferne brieflich mit Worten zeigen, ebenso werden wir uns auch bei unserer Anwesenheit mit der Tat beweisen!

Esto piense el tal, que cuales somos en la palabra por cartas estando ausentes, tales seremos también en hechos, estando presentes.

Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.

Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such are we also in deed when we are present.

Wir nehmen uns allerdings nicht heraus, uns mit gewissen Leuten unter denen, die sich selbst empfehlen, auf eine Stufe zu stellen oder uns mit ihnen zu vergleichen; nein, sie sind unverständig genug, sich an sich selbst zu messen und sich mit sich selbst zu vergleichen.

Porque no osamos entremeternos ó compararnos con algunos que se alaban á sí mismos: mas ellos, midiéndose á sí mismos por sí mismos, y comparándose consigo mismos no son juiciosos.

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.

Wir dagegen wollen uns nicht ins Maßlose rühmen, sondern nach dem Maße des Arbeitsfeldes, das Gott uns als Maßstab zugewiesen hat, daß wir nämlich auch bis zu euch gelangen sollten.

Nosotros empero, no nos gloriaremos fuera de nuestra medida, sino conforme á la medida de la regla, de la medida que Dios nos repartió, para llegar aun hasta vosotros.

But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.

But we will not boast beyond proper limits, but within the boundaries with which God appointed to us, which reach even to you.

Denn wir strecken uns nicht über Gebühr aus, als reichten wir nicht bis zu euch hin; wir sind ja doch tatsächlich mit der (Verkündung der) Heilsbotschaft Christi auch bis zu euch hingelangt.

Porque no nos extendemos sobre nuestra medida, como si no llegásemos hasta vosotros: porque también hasta vosotros hemos llegado en el evangelio de Cristo:

For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:

For we don’t stretch ourselves too much, as though we didn’t reach to you. For we came even as far as to you with the Good News of Christ,

Und dabei rühmen wir uns nicht maßlos aufgrund fremder Arbeitsleistungen, hegen aber die Hoffnung, beim Wachstum eures Glaubens dem uns zugewiesenen Wirkungsgebiet entsprechend bei euch noch ungleich größer dazustehen,

No gloriándonos fuera de nuestra medida en trabajos ajenos; mas teniendo esperanza del crecimiento de vuestra fe, que seremos muy engrandecidos entre vosotros, conforme á nuestra regla.

Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men’s labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,

not boasting beyond proper limits in other men’s labors, but having hope that as your faith grows, we will be abundantly enlarged by you in our sphere of influence,

wenn wir die Heilsbotschaft noch in die über eure Grenzen hinausliegenden Länder tragen, ohne uns dabei auf fremdem Arbeitsfelde dessen zu rühmen, was (dort schon von anderen) fertiggestellt ist.

Y que anunciaremos el evangelio en los lugares más allá de vosotros, sin entrar en la medida de otro para gloriarnos en lo que ya estaba aparejado.

To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hand.

so as to preach the Good News even to the parts beyond you, not to boast in what someone else has already done.

Nein, »wer sich rühmen will, der rühme sich des Herrn«;

Mas el que se gloría, gloríese en el Señor.

But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

But “he who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”

denn nicht wer sich selbst empfiehlt, ist bewährt, sondern der, den der Herr empfiehlt.

Porque no el que se alaba á sí mismo, el tal es aprobado; mas aquel á quien Dios alaba.

For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

For it isn’t he who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
