Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

Tenho um profundo zelo por vocês, que vem do próprio Deus — zelo de que o amor de vocês seja somente por Cristo, tal como uma virgem reserva o seu amor para um homem apenas, aquele que será seu marido.
Pues que os celo con celo de Dios; porque os he desposado á un marido, para presentaros como una virgen pura á Cristo.
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

Mas estou amedrontado, temendo que de alguma forma vocês sejam desviados da sua devoção simples e pura ao nosso Senhor, tal como Eva foi enganada pela astúcia da serpente.
Mas temo que como la serpiente engañó á Eva con su astucia, sean corrompidos así vuestros sentidos en alguna manera, de la simplicidad que es en Cristo.
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Vocês parecem tão ingênuos: creem em qualquer coisa que alguém lhes diz, mesmo que esteja pregando sobre outro Jesus, diferente daquele que nós pregamos, ou um espírito diferente do Espírito de Deus que vocês receberam, ou mostrando outro caminho para a salvação.
Porque si el que viene, predicare otro Jesús que el que hemos predicado, ó recibiereis otro espíritu del que habéis recibido, ú otro evangelio del que habéis aceptado, lo sufrierais bien.
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we didn’t preach, or if you receive a different spirit which you didn’t receive, or a different “good news” which you didn’t accept, you put up with that well enough.
Entretanto, eu não creio que esses sublimes “apóstolos de Deus”, como eles se chamam a si mesmos, sejam em nada superiores a mim.
Cierto pienso que en nada he sido inferior á aquellos grandes apóstoles.

Será que fiz mal, quando me rebaixei e fiz com que vocês me menosprezassem, só porque lhes preguei o evangelho de Deus sem cobrar-lhes coisa alguma?

Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?
Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached to you God’s Good News free of charge?
Enquanto trabalhava com vocês, fui sustentado por outras igrejas recebendo aquilo que me enviaram. Por assim dizer, eu estava privando outras igrejas para ajudar vocês.
He despojado las otras iglesias, recibiendo salario para ministraros á vosotros.
I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.

Eu estava servindo vocês, sem custar-lhes nada. E quando acabou o sustento, eu comecei a passar necessidade; mesmo assim não lhes pedi coisa alguma, pois os irmãos da Macedônia trouxeram-me outra oferta. Fiz tudo para não ser pesado a vocês, e continuarei agindo desta forma.
Y estando con vosotros y teniendo necesidad, á ninguno fuí carga; porque lo que me faltaba, suplieron los hermanos que vinieron de Macedonia: y en todo me guardé de seros gravoso, y me guardaré.

Mas eu farei isso a fim de tirar a oportunidade daqueles que se gabam de estarem fazendo a obra divina do mesmo modo que nós.

Portanto, não é de admirar que os seus servos possam fazer o mesmo, fingindo ser ministros de Deus. No fim eles receberão todo o castigo que suas obras malignas merecem.
Así que, no es mucho si también sus ministros se transfiguran como ministros de justicia; cuyo fin será conforme á sus obras.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Se estou argumentando de novo com vocês, não pensem que eu perdi o juízo por lhes falar assim; porém, mesmo que eu perdesse, ouçam-me de qualquer maneira, como um desajuizado para que eu tenha alguma coisa com que me orgulhar.
Otra vez digo: Que nadie me estime ser loco; de otra manera, recibidme como á loco, para que aun me gloríe yo un poquito.
I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.

Não é segundo o Senhor que me vanglorio assim, porque eu estou agindo como um insensato.
