Ich aber will recht gern Opfer bringen, und ein Opfer werden für eure Seelen; wenn ich auch, der ich euch überschwenglich liebe, weniger geliebt werde.

Empero yo de muy buena gana despenderé y seré despendido por vuestras almas, aunque amándoos más, sea amado menos.

And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.

I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I loved the less?
