1Pablo, Apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, y Timoteo nuestro hermano, a la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, con todos los santos que están en toda Acaya:
2Gracia y paz sea a ustedes de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y el Señor Jesucristo.
3Alabado sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de las misericordias y el Dios de todo consuelo;
4Quien nos da consuelo en todos nuestros problemas, para que podamos consolar a otros que están en problemas, a través del consuelo que Dios nos consuela.
5Porque a medida que sufrimos más del dolor que Cristo sufrió, a través de Cristo nuestro consuelo se hace más grande.
6Pero si somos afligidos, es para su consuelo y salvación; o si nos consuela, es para que ustedes también tengan consuelo y salvación y puedan soportar con fortaleza los mismos sufrimientos que también nosotros experimentamos.
7Y nuestra esperanza por ustedes es firme; sabiendo que al ser copartícipes de los sufrimientos, también lo serán en la consolación que viene de Dios.
8Porque es nuestro deseo, hermanos, que no ignoren las tribulaciones que tuvimos en Asia, fue una prueba tan grande, que ya no podíamos resistir más, hasta perdimos la esperanza de salir con vida:
9nos sentíamos como sentenciados a muerte, él propósito de esto, para no poner nuestra esperanza en nosotros mismos, sino en Dios que puede dar vida a los muertos:
10Quien nos libró y de una muerte tan grande y nos librará, y en quién hemos puesto nuestra esperanza que nos seguirá librando;
11Ustedes, al mismo tiempo, colaborando con su oración por nosotros; si muchos oran por nosotros, la alabanza de agradecimiento por muchas personas de nuestra parte darán a Dios por todas las bendiciones concedidas a favor nuestro.
12Porque nuestra gloria es está : el testimonio de nuestra conciencia, que en sencillez y sinceridad santa, nos hemos conducido en el mundo y sobre todo en relación con ustedes; no en la sabiduría de la carne, sino en la gracia de Dios nos ha ayudado a vivir así.
13Porque en nuestras cartas no les escribimos cosas distintas de lo que puedan leer o entender, espero que lleguen a entender perfectamente hasta el final:
14Como ya lo han entendido en parte, para decir que somos su gloria; la razón de su gozo, de la misma manera que son nuestra gloria en el día del Señor Jesús.
15Con esta confianza, ya había pensado venir a ustedes antes, para que puedan tener una doble bendición espiritual;
16pensaba visitarlos primeramente al pasar camino a Macedonia, y después, al regresar, visitarlos otra vez; así ustedes podrían ayudarme a seguir mi viaje a Judea.
17Si entonces tenía ese propósito, ¿parecía estar cambiando de repente? ¿o soy guiado en mis propósitos por la carne, diciendo: sí, hoy y no, de acuerdo a impulsos humanos?
18Dios es testigo, nuestra palabra para ustedes no es Sí y No al mismo tiempo.
19Porque el Hijo de Dios, Jesucristo, a quien estábamos predicando entre ustedes, yo y Silvano y Timoteo, no era Sí y No, sino que ha sido Si en él;
20Porque todas las promesas de Dios son Sí, y en Jesucristo Amén, para la gloria de Dios por medio de nosotros.
21Y el que hace fuerte nuestra fe juntamente con ustedes en Cristo, y nos ha dado de su unción, es Dios;
22Y es él quien nos ha sellado, y nos dio el Espíritu, como garantía en nuestros corazones de lo que vamos a recibir, la gloria venidera.
23Pero Dios es mi testigo de que fue una pena para ustedes que no haya venido a Corinto en ese momento.
24No es que tengamos autoridad sobre su fe, sino que queremos colaborar con ustedes, para que se gocen; porque por la fe están firmes.

1PABLO, apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, y Timoteo el hermano, á la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, juntamente con todos los santos que están por toda la Acaya:
2Gracia y paz á vosotros de Dios nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo.
3Bendito sea el Dios y Padre del Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de misericordias, y el Dios de toda consolación,
4El cual nos consuela en todas nuestras tribulaciones, para que podamos también nosotros consolar á los que están en cualquiera angustia, con la consolación con que nosotros somos consolados de Dios.
5Porque de la manera que abundan en nosotros las aflicciones de Cristo, así abunda también por el mismo Cristo nuestra consolación.
6Mas si somos atribulados, es por vuestra consolación y salud; la cual es obrada en el sufrir las mismas aflicciones que nosotros también padecemos: ó si somos consolados, es por vuestra consolación y salud;
7Y nuestra esperanza de vosotros es firme; estando ciertos que como sois compañeros de las aflicciones, así también lo sois de la consolación.
8Porque hermanos, no queremos que ignoréis de nuestra tribulación que nos fué hecha en Asia; que sobremanera fuimos cargados sobre nuestras fuerzas de tal manera que estuviésemos en duda de la vida.
9Mas nosotros tuvimos en nosotros mismos respuesta de muerte, para que no confiemos en nosotros mismos, sino en Dios que levanta los muertos:
10El cual nos libró, y libra de tanta muerte; en el cual esperamos que aun nos librará;
11Ayudándonos también vosotros con oración por nosotros, para que por la merced hecha á nos por respeto de muchos, por muchos sean hechas gracias por nosotros.
12Porque nuestra gloria es esta: el testimonio de nuestra conciencia, que con simplicidad y sinceridad de Dios, no con sabiduría carnal, mas con la gracia de Dios, hemos conversado en el mundo, y muy más con vosotros.
13Porque no os escribimos otras cosas de las que leéis, ó también conocéis: y espero que aun hasta el fin las conoceréis:
14Como también en parte habéis conocido que somos vuestra gloria, así como también vosotros la nuestra, para el día del Señor Jesús.
15Y con esta confianza quise primero ir á vosotros, para que tuvieseis una segunda gracia;
16Y por vosotros pasar á Macedonia, y de Macedonia venir otra vez á vosotros, y ser vuelto de vosotros á Judea.
17Así que, pretendiendo esto, ¿usé quizá de liviandad? ó lo que pienso hacer, ¿piénsolo según la carne, para que haya en mí Sí y No?
18Antes, Dios fiel sabe que nuestra palabra para con vosotros no es Sí y No.
19Porque el Hijo de Dios, Jesucristo, que por nosotros ha sido entre vosotros predicado, por mí y Silvano y Timoteo, no ha sido Sí y No; mas ha sido Sí en él.
20Porque todas las promesas de Dios son en él Sí, y en él Amén, por nosotros á gloria de Dios.
21Y el que nos confirma con vosotros en Cristo, y el que nos ungió, es Dios;
22El cual también nos ha sellado, y dado la prenda del Espíritu en nuestros corazones.
23Mas yo llamo á Dios por testigo sobre mi alma, que por ser indulgente con vosotros no he pasado todavía á Corinto.
24No que nos enseñoreemos de vuestra fe, mas somos ayudadores de vuestro gozo: porque por la fe estáis firmes.

1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:
2Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
5For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
6And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
7And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.
8For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
9But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
10Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
11Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.
12For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
13For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;
14As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.
15And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;
16And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judaea.
17When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?
18But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.
19For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.
20For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
21Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
22Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
23Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.
24Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.

1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:
2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
4who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
5For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.
6But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.
7Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so you are also of the comfort.
8For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia: that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.
9Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,
10who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver, on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us,
11you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift given to us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf.
12For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.
13For we write no other things to you than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end—
14as also you acknowledged us in part—that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.
15In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit,
16and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.
17When I therefore planned this, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”
18But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not “Yes and no.”
19For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”
20For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.
21Now he who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,
22who also sealed us and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.
23But I call God for a witness to my soul, that to spare you, I didn’t come to Corinth.
24We don’t control your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.
