Ich dachte aber solches bei mir, daß ich nicht abermal in Traurigkeit zu euch kame.
ESTO pues determiné para conmigo, no venir otra vez á vosotros con tristeza.
But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.
But I determined this for myself, that I would not come to you again in sorrow.
Denn so ich euch traurig mache, wer ist, der mich frohlich mache, ohne der da von mir betrubet wird?
Porque si yo os contristo, ¿quién será luego el que me alegrará, sino aquel á quien yo contristare?
For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?
For if I make you grieve, then who will make me glad but he who is made to grieve by me?
Und dasselbige habe ich euch geschrieben, daß ich nicht, wenn ich kame, traurig sein mulite, über welche ich mich billig sollte freuen, sintemal ich mich des zu euch alien versehe, dafi meine Freude euer aller Freude sei.
Y esto mismo os escribí, porque cuando llegare no tenga tristeza sobre tristeza de los que me debiera gozar; confiando en vosotros todos que mi gozo es el de todos vosotros.
And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.

Denn ich schrieb euch in grolier Trubsal und Angst des Herzens mitviel Tranen, nicht dafi ihr solltet betrubet werden, sondern auf, daß ihr die Liebe erkennetet, welche ich habe sonderlich zu euch.
Porque por la mucha tribulación y angustia del corazón os escribí con muchas lágrimas; no para que fueseis contristados, mas para que supieseis cuánto más amor tengo para con vosotros.

Que si alguno me contristó, no me contristó á mí, sino en parte, por no cargaros, á todos vosotros.

daß ihr nun hinfort ihm desto mehr vergebet und trostet, auf daß er nicht in allzu große Traurigkeit versinke.
Así que, al contrario, vosotros más bien lo perdonéis y consoléis, porque no sea el tal consumido de demasiada tristeza.
So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

Darum ermahne ich euch, daß ihr die Liebe an ihm beweiset.
Por lo cual os ruego que confirméis el amor para con él.

auf daß wir nicht übervorteilt werden vom Satan; denn uns ist nicht unbewußt, was er im Sinn hat.

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

A éstos ciertamente olor de muerte para muerte; y á aquéllos olor de vida para vida. Y para estas cosas ¿quién es suficiente?
To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
to the one a stench from death to death, to the other a sweet aroma from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
Denn wir sind nicht wie etliche viele, die das Wort Gottes verfalschen, sondern als aus Lauterkeit und als aus Gott, vor Gott reden wir in Christo.
Porque no somos como muchos, mercaderes falsos de la palabra de Dios: antes con sinceridad, como de Dios, delante de Dios, hablamos en Cristo.
