Wir geben niemandem in irgendetwas Gelegenheit, Anstoß zu nehmen, damit der Dienst (das Amt?) nicht verhöhnt (beschämt) wird,

No dando á nadie ningún escándalo, porque el ministerio nuestro no sea vituperado:

Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

We give no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our service may not be blamed,
