2 Corintios 7

1Queridos amigos, dado que tenemos estas promesas, limpiémonos de todo lo que contamina nuestro cuerpo y espíritu, procurando la santidad que nace de la reverencia a Dios.
2¡Por favor, abran un espacio para nosotros en sus corazones! No le hemos hecho mal a nadie, no hemos corrompido a nadie, ni nos hemos aprovechado de nadie.
3No lo digo para condenarlos a ustedes, pues como ya les dije, ustedes son muy importantes para nosotros, tanto, que estamos dispuestos a vivir y morir con ustedes.
4Les hablo con confianza porque estoy orgulloso de ustedes. Son una fuente de ánimo para mí. Y estoy muy contento de ustedes a pesar de todas nuestras dificultades.
5Cuando llegamos a Macedonia, no tuvimos ni un minuto de paz. Recibimos ataques por todas partes, por causa de conflictos externos así como de miedos internos.
6Aun así, Dios, quien alienta a los abatidos de corazón, nos animó con la llegada de Tito.
7Y no solo con su llegada, sino con el ánimo que ustedes le dieron a él. Él nos contó cuánto deseaban verme, cuán tristes y preocupados estaban por mí, lo cual me hizo aún más feliz.
8Aunque los hice entristecer con la carta que les escribí, no me arrepiento, aunque sí me arrepiento porque la carta los haya entristecido, pero fue solo por un poco tiempo.
9Ahora estoy feliz, no por entristecerlos, sino porque esa tristeza los hizo cambiar. Llegaron a sentir la tristeza de una manera que Dios aprueba, por lo tanto no les hicimos daño de ninguna manera.
10La tristeza que Dios quiere que sintamos es la que nos lleva al arrepentimiento y trae salvación. Esta clase de tristeza no trae consigo ningún tipo de remordimiento, pero la tristeza mundanal trae muerte.
11Miren, por ejemplo, lo que ocurrió cuando tuvieron esta misma experiencia de tristeza que viene de Dios. Recuerden cuán empeñados y afanados se volvieron por defenderse, cuánto enojo sintieron por lo que había sucedido, con cuanta seriedad asumieron las cosas, y cuánto anhelo tenían por hacer lo recto; estaban muy preocupados y deseosos de que se hiciera justicia. En todo esto ustedes demostraron que eran sinceros en su deseo de hacer las cosas rectamente.
12Así que cuando les escribí, no era para hablarles respecto al agresor ni del agredido, sino para mostrarles cuán fieles son ustedes a nosotros, ante los ojos de Dios.
13Esto nos anima en gran manera. Además de este ánimo, nos alegró ver cuán feliz estaba Tito porque ustedes le dieron fortaleza.
14Me enorgullecí de ustedes al hablar con él, y no me defraudaron. Así como todas las demás cosas que les digo son verdaderas, mis elogios sobre ustedes hacia Tito resultaron ser verdaderos también.
15Él se preocupa por ustedes aún más al recordar que ustedes hicieron todo lo que él les pidió y lo recibieron con mucho respeto.
16Me siento muy feliz de poder confiar plenamente en ustedes.

1ASÍ que, amados, pues tenemos tales promesas, limpiémonos de toda inmundicia de carne y de espíritu, perfeccionando la santificación en temor de Dios.
2Admitidnos: á nadie hemos injuriado, á nadie hemos corrompido, á nadie hemos engañado.
3No para condenaros lo digo; que ya he dicho antes que estáis en nuestros corazones, para morir y para vivir juntamente.
4Mucha confianza tengo de vosotros, tengo de vosotros mucha gloria; lleno estoy de consolación, sobreabundo de gozo en todas nuestras tribulaciones.
5Porque aun cuando vinimos á Macedonia, ningún reposo tuvo nuestra carne; antes, en todo fuimos atribulados: de fuera, cuestiones; de dentro, temores.
6Mas Dios, que consuela á los humildes, nos consoló con la venida de Tito:
7Y no sólo con su venida, sino también con la consolación con que él fué consolado acerca de vosotros, haciéndonos saber vuestro deseo grande, vuestro lloro, vuestro celo por mí, para que así me gozase más.
8Porque aunque os contristé por la carta, no me arrepiento, bien que me arrepentí; porque veo que aquella carta, aunque por algún tiempo os contristó,
9Ahora me gozo, no porque hayáis sido contristados, sino porque fuisteis contristados para arrepentimiento; porque habéis sido contristados según Dios, para que ninguna pérdida padecieseis por nuestra parte.
10Porque el dolor que es según Dios, obra arrepentimiento saludable, de que no hay que arrepentirse; mas el dolor del siglo obra muerte.
11Porque he aquí, esto mismo que según Dios fuisteis contristados, cuánta solicitud ha obrado en vosotros, y aun defensa, y aun enojo, y aun temor, y aun gran deseo, y aun celo, y aun vindicación. En todo os habéis mostrado limpios en el negocio.
12Así que, aunque os escribí, no fué por causa del que hizo la injuria, ni por causa del que la padeció, mas para que os fuese manifiesta nuestra solicitud que tenemos por vosotros delante de Dios.
13Por tanto, tomamos consolación de vuestra consolación: empero mucho más nos gozamos por el gozo de Tito, que haya sido recreado su espíritu de todos vosotros.
14Pues si algo me he gloriado para con él de vosotros, no he sido avergonzado; antes, como todo lo que habíamos dicho de vosotros era con verdad, así también nuestra gloria delante de Tito fué hallada verdadera.
15Y sus entrañas son más abundantes para con vosotros, cuando se acuerda de la obediencia de todos vosotros, de cómo lo recibisteis con temor y temblor.
16Me gozo de que en todo estoy confiado de vosotros.

1Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.
3I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.
4Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
5For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.
6Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
7And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.
8For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
9Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
10For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
11For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
12Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.
13Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
14For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.
15And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
16I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

1Having therefore these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2Open your hearts to us. We wronged no one. We corrupted no one. We took advantage of no one.
3I say this not to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die together and live together.
4Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction.
5For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside.
6Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus,
7and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you while he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more.
8For though I grieved you with my letter, I do not regret it, though I did regret it. For I see that my letter made you grieve, though just for a while.
9I now rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you were grieved to repentance. For you were grieved in a godly way, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing.
10For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death.
11For behold, this same thing, that you were grieved in a godly way, what earnest care it worked in you. Yes, what defense, indignation, fear, longing, zeal, and vindication! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be pure in the matter.
12So although I wrote to you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be revealed in you in the sight of God.
13Therefore we have been comforted. In our comfort we rejoiced the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.
14For if in anything I have boasted to him on your behalf, I was not disappointed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth.
15His affection is more abundantly toward you, while he remembers all of your obedience, how with fear and trembling you received him.
16I rejoice that in everything I am confident concerning you.
