PORQUE cuanto á la suministración para los santos, por demás me es escribiros;
For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:
It is indeed unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the service to the saints,
Ustedes siempre están dispuestos a ayudar; y he tenido el orgullo de decir a los hermanos de Macedonia que, hace un año, ustedes, los de Acaya, ya estaban listos para enviar una ofrenda. Y es más: el entusiasmo de ustedes fue la chispa que prendió en la mayoría de ellos el deseo de ayudar.
Pues conozco vuestro pronto ánimo, del cual me glorío yo entre los de Macedonia, que Acaya está apercibida desde el año pasado; y vuestro ejemplo ha estimulado á muchos.
For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
for I know your readiness, of which I boast on your behalf to those of Macedonia, that Achaia has been prepared for the past year. Your zeal has stirred up very many of them.
Sin embargo, les envío a estos hermanos para asegurarme de que ya están listos para mandar el donativo, como he dicho que lo estarían. No quiero que a última hora me hagan quedar mal.
Mas he enviado los hermanos, porque nuestra gloria de vosotros no sea vana en esta parte; para que, como lo he dicho, estéis apercibidos;
Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
But I have sent the brothers so that our boasting on your behalf may not be in vain in this respect, that, just as I said, you may be prepared,
Me daría pena —y a ustedes también— que algunos macedonios fueran conmigo y encontraran que todavía ni siquiera han recogido la ofrenda.
No sea que, si vinieren conmigo Macedonios, y os hallaren desapercibidos, nos avergoncemos nosotros, por no decir vosotros, de este firme gloriarnos.
Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.
lest by any means, if anyone from Macedonia comes there with me and finds you unprepared, we (to say nothing of you) would be disappointed in this confident boasting.
Así que pedí a estos hermanos que fueran primero y se cercioraran de que el generoso donativo que ustedes prometieron ya esté listo. Así será una muestra de generosidad y no de tacañería.
Por tanto, tuve por cosa necesaria exhortar á los hermanos que fuesen primero á vosotros, y apresten primero vuestra bendición antes prometida, para que esté aparejada como de bendición, y no como de mezquindad.
Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.
I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brothers that they would go before to you and arrange ahead of time the generous gift that you promised before, that the same might be ready as a matter of generosity, and not of greediness.
Ahora bien, el agricultor que siembra pocas semillas, obtendrá poca cosecha; pero el que siembra mucho, mucho cosechará.
Esto empero digo: El que siembra escasamente, también segará escasamente; y el que siembra en bendiciones, en bendiciones también segará.
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Cada uno tiene que determinar cuánto va a dar. Que no sea con tristeza ni porque lo obliguen, porque Dios ama al que da con alegría.
Cada uno dé como propuso en su corazón: no con tristeza, ó por necesidad; porque Dios ama el dador alegre.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Poderoso es Dios para darles en abundancia sus bendiciones, de tal manera que, siempre y en todas las circunstancias, no sólo tengan para satisfacer las necesidades propias sino también para dar en abundancia a los demás.
Y poderoso es Dios para hacer que abunde en vosotros toda gracia; á fin de que, teniendo siempre en todas las cosas todo lo que basta, abundéis para toda buena obra:
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.
Como está escrito: «El que da generosamente a los pobres hace que su justicia permanezca para siempre».
Como está escrito: Derramó, dió á los pobres; su justicia permanece para siempre.
(As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
As it is written, “He has scattered abroad. He has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever.”
Porque así como Dios le da semillas al agricultor y también le da el pan que lo alimenta, así él mismo les proporcionará abundantes cosechas, para que ustedes puedan ayudar a otros.
Y el que da simiente al que siembra, también dará pan para comer, y multiplicará vuestra sementera, y aumentará los crecimientos de los frutos de vuestra justicia;
Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness,
Sí, Dios les dará a ustedes en abundancia para que puedan dar en abundancia; y cuando entreguemos las dádivas de ustedes a los que las necesitan, prorrumpirán en acción de gracias a Dios.
Para que estéis enriquecidos en todo para toda bondad, la cual obra por nosotros hacimiento de gracias á Dios.
Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
you being enriched in everything for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.
En otras palabras, el donativo que ustedes envíen es un servicio sagrado que surtirá dos efectos: ayudará a los que están en necesidad e impulsará a estos a estar muy agradecidos con Dios.
Porque la suministración de este servicio, no solamente suple lo que á los santos falta, sino también abunda en muchos hacimientos de gracias á Dios:
For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God,
Cuando reciban esta demostración de servicio, ellos alabarán a Dios porque ustedes obedecen el mensaje de Cristo, son generosos y se solidarizan con ellos y con todos.
Que por la experiencia de esta suministración glorifican á Dios por la obediencia que profesáis al evangelio de Cristo, y por la bondad de contribuir para ellos y para todos;
Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;
seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the Good News of Christ and for the generosity of your contribution to them and to all,
Además, ellos orarán por ustedes con mucho amor, gracias a la bondad de Dios que se manifestó a través de ustedes.
Asimismo por la oración de ellos á favor vuestro, los cuales os quieren á causa de la eminente gracia de Dios en vosotros.
And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.
¡Gracias a Dios por el regalo tan maravilloso que nos ha dado, y que no podemos expresar con palabras!
Gracias á Dios por su don inefable.
