Realmente no necesito escribirles sobre esta ofrenda para el pueblo de Dios.
PORQUE cuanto á la suministración para los santos, por demás me es escribiros;
For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:
It is indeed unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the service to the saints,
Sé cuán prestos están para ayudar. De hecho, elogié esto en Macedonia, diciendo que en Acaya ustedes han estado prestos por más de un año, y que su entusiasmo ha animado a muchos de ellos a dar.
Pues conozco vuestro pronto ánimo, del cual me glorío yo entre los de Macedonia, que Acaya está apercibida desde el año pasado; y vuestro ejemplo ha estimulado á muchos.
For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
for I know your readiness, of which I boast on your behalf to those of Macedonia, that Achaia has been prepared for the past year. Your zeal has stirred up very many of them.
Pero envío a estos hermanos para que los elogios que hago de ustedes no sean hallados falsos, y que estén preparados, tal como dijeron que lo harían.
Mas he enviado los hermanos, porque nuestra gloria de vosotros no sea vana en esta parte; para que, como lo he dicho, estéis apercibidos;
Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
But I have sent the brothers so that our boasting on your behalf may not be in vain in this respect, that, just as I said, you may be prepared,
Esto lo digo en caso de que algunos de Macedonia lleguen conmigo y ustedes no estén listos. Nosotros, – y sabemos que ustedes también – nos sentiríamos muy avergonzados de que este proyecto fracasara.
No sea que, si vinieren conmigo Macedonios, y os hallaren desapercibidos, nos avergoncemos nosotros, por no decir vosotros, de este firme gloriarnos.
Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.
lest by any means, if anyone from Macedonia comes there with me and finds you unprepared, we (to say nothing of you) would be disappointed in this confident boasting.
Por eso decidí pedir a estos hermanos que los visiten antes, y finalicen los arreglos necesarios para recoger esta ofrenda, de tal modo que esté lista como un regalo y no como una obligación.
Por tanto, tuve por cosa necesaria exhortar á los hermanos que fuesen primero á vosotros, y apresten primero vuestra bendición antes prometida, para que esté aparejada como de bendición, y no como de mezquindad.
Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.
I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brothers that they would go before to you and arrange ahead of time the generous gift that you promised before, that the same might be ready as a matter of generosity, and not of greediness.
Quisiera recordarles esto: Si siembran poco, cosecharán poco; pero si siembran con abundancia, cosecharán abundancia.
Esto empero digo: El que siembra escasamente, también segará escasamente; y el que siembra en bendiciones, en bendiciones también segará.
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Cada uno debe dar según lo que haya decidido dar, y no de mala gana o por obligación, porque Dios ama a los que dan con espíritu alegre.
Cada uno dé como propuso en su corazón: no con tristeza, ó por necesidad; porque Dios ama el dador alegre.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Dios puede proveerles todo para que nunca les falte nada; con abundancia, para que ayuden a otros también.
Y poderoso es Dios para hacer que abunde en vosotros toda gracia; á fin de que, teniendo siempre en todas las cosas todo lo que basta, abundéis para toda buena obra:
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.
Como dice la Escritura: “Él da con generosidad a los pobres. Su generosidad es eterna”.
Como está escrito: Derramó, dió á los pobres; su justicia permanece para siempre.
(As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
As it is written, “He has scattered abroad. He has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever.”
Dios, quien provee la semilla para el sembrador y da el pan para la comida, proveerá y multiplicará su “semilla” y aumentará sus cosechas de generosidad.
Y el que da simiente al que siembra, también dará pan para comer, y multiplicará vuestra sementera, y aumentará los crecimientos de los frutos de vuestra justicia;
Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness,
Serán ricos en todas las cosas, a fin de que puedan ser siempre generosos y su generosidad lleve a otros a estar agradecidos con Dios.
Para que estéis enriquecidos en todo para toda bondad, la cual obra por nosotros hacimiento de gracias á Dios.
Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
you being enriched in everything for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.
Cuando sirvan de esta forma, no solo se satisfacen las necesidades del pueblo de Dios, sino que muchos darán gracias a él.
Porque la suministración de este servicio, no solamente suple lo que á los santos falta, sino también abunda en muchos hacimientos de gracias á Dios:
For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God,
Al dar esta ofrenda, demuestran su carácter y los que la reciben agradecerán a Dios por su obediencia, pues ella demuestra su compromiso con la buena nueva de Cristo y su generosidad al darles a ellos y a todos los demás.
Que por la experiencia de esta suministración glorifican á Dios por la obediencia que profesáis al evangelio de Cristo, y por la bondad de contribuir para ellos y para todos;
Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;
seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the Good News of Christ and for the generosity of your contribution to them and to all,
Entonces ellos orarán por ustedes con más amor, por la abundante gracia de Dios obrando por medio de ustedes.
Asimismo por la oración de ellos á favor vuestro, los cuales os quieren á causa de la eminente gracia de Dios en vosotros.
And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.
¡Gracias a Dios porque su don es más grande que lo que las palabras pueden expresar!
Gracias á Dios por su don inefable.
