por causa da verdade que está para sempre nos nossos corações.

Como eu me sinto feliz por encontrar alguns dos seus filhos aqui, e ver que eles estão vivendo como devem, seguindo a verdade e obedecendo aos mandamentos que recebemos do Pai!
Mucho me he gozado, porque he hallado de tus hijos, que andan en verdad, como nosotros hemos recibido el mandamiento del Padre.

E agora eu quero lembrar-lhe insistentemente, querida senhora, o velho mandamento que Deus nos deu bem no princípio: que nos amemos uns aos outros.

Se amamos a Deus, faremos tudo quanto ele nos manda. E, desde o começo mesmo, ele nos mandou que amássemos uns aos outros.
Y este es amor, que andemos según sus mandamientos. Este es el mandamiento: Que andéis en él, como vosotros habéis oído desde el principio.
And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Tomem cuidado com os falsos líderes que têm saído pelo mundo, que não creem que Jesus Cristo veio à terra como um ser humano, com um corpo como o nosso. Quem faz isso é o enganador e o anticristo.
Porque muchos engañadores son entrados en el mundo, los cuales no confiesan que Jesucristo ha venido en carne. Este tal el engañador es, y el anticristo.
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Tenham cuidado para não serem como eles e perderem o prêmio pelo qual eu e vocês temos trabalhado tão duramente. Procurem ganhar do Senhor a recompensa completa.
Mirad por vosotros mismos, porque no perdamos las cosas que hemos obrado, sino que recibamos galardón cumplido.
Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

Cualquiera que se rebela, y no persevera en la doctrina de Cristo, no tiene á Dios: el que persevera en la doctrina de Cristo, el tal tiene al Padre y al Hijo.
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

Se alguém for ensinar a vocês e não crê no que Cristo ensinou, nem sequer o convidem a entrar em suas casas, nem o saúdem.
Si alguno viene á vosotros, y no trae esta doctrina, no lo recibáis en casa, ni le digáis: ¡bienvenido!
If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
If anyone comes to you and doesn’t bring this teaching, don’t receive him into your house, and don’t welcome him,
Se vocês o fizerem, estarão tornando-se companheiros dele e das suas obras malignas.
Porque el que le dice bienvenido, comunica con sus malas obras.
For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
for he who welcomes him participates in his evil deeds.
Bem que eu gostaria de dizer muito mais; porém não quero fazê-lo por intermédio desta carta, porque espero ir vê-los face a face em breve, e então poderemos conversar juntos a respeito destas coisas, para que a minha alegria seja completa.
