OR vi erano in Samaria settanta figliuoli di Achab. E Iehu scrisse una lettera, e la mandò in Samaria, agli Anziani principali d'Izreel, ed a' balii de' figliuoli di Achab, di tal tenore:

Y TENÍA Achâb en Samaria setenta hijos; y escribió letras Jehú, y enviólas á Samaria á los principales de Jezreel, á los ancianos y á los ayos de Achâb, diciendo:

And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab’s children, saying,

Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. Jehu wrote letters and sent them to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, even the elders, and to those who brought up Ahab’s sons, saying,

Ora, come prima questa lettera sarà pervenuta a voi, che avete in man vostra i figliuoli del vostro signore, e i suoi carri, e cavalli, e città forte, ed armi,

Luego en llegando estas letras á vosotros los que tenéis los hijos de vuestro señor, y los que tenéis carros y gente de á caballo, la ciudad pertrechada, y las armas,

Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master’s sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;

“Now as soon as this letter comes to you, since your master’s sons are with you, and you have chariots and horses, a fortified city also, and armor,

considerate, d'infra i figliuoli del vostro signore, quello che più vi aggraderà, e mettetelo sopra il trono di suo padre, e guerreggiate per la casa del vostro signore.

Mirad cuál es el mejor y él más recto de los hijos de vuestro señor, y ponedlo en el trono de su padre, y pelead por la casa de vuestro señor.

Look even out the best and meetest of your master’s sons, and set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.

select the best and fittest of your master’s sons, set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.”

Ma essi ebbero grandissima paura, e dissero: Ecco, due re non hanno potuto contrastargli, e come potremo contrastargli noi?

Mas ellos tuvieron gran temor, y dijeron: He aquí dos reyes no pudieron resistirle, ¿cómo le resistiremos nosotros?

But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?

Laonde il mastro del palazzo, e il governatore della città, e gli Anziani, e i balii, mandarono a dire a Iehu: Noi siamo tuoi servitori, e faremo tutto quello che tu ci dirai; noi non faremo re alcuno; fa' tu ciò che ti piace.

Y el mayordomo, y el presidente de la ciudad, y los ancianos, y los ayos, enviaron á decir á Jehú: Siervos tuyos somos, y haremos todo lo que nos mandares: no elegiremos por rey á ninguno; tú harás lo que bien te pareciere.

And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.

He who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders also, and those who raised the children, sent to Jehu, saying, “We are your servants, and will do all that you ask us. We will not make any man king. You do that which is good in your eyes.”

Ed egli scrisse loro la seconda volta lettere di tal tenore: Se voi siete de'miei, e volete ubbidire a' miei comandamenti, togliete le teste a' figliuoli del vostro signore, e venite domani a quest'ora a me, in Izreel. (Or i figliuoli del re erano settanta, ed erano appresso i principali della città, che li allevavano.)

El entonces les escribió la segunda vez, diciendo: Si sois míos, y queréis obedecerme, tomad las cabezas de los varones hijos de vuestro señor, y venid mañana á estas horas á mí á Jezreel. Y los hijos del rey, setenta varones, estaban con los principales de la ciudad, que los criaban.

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master’s sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king’s sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, “If you are on my side, and if you will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men who are your master’s sons, and come to me to Jezreel by tomorrow this time.” Now the king’s sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who brought them up.

E quando vennero loro quelle lettere, presero i figliuoli del re, ch'erano settant'uomini, e li ammazzarono; e, poste le lor teste in ceste, le mandarono a Iehu, in Izreel.

Y como las letras llegaron á ellos, tomaron á los hijos del rey, y degollaron setenta varones, y pusieron sus cabezas en canastillos, y enviáronselas á Jezreel.

And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king’s sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.

Ed un messo venne, che gli rapportò il fatto, dicendo: Coloro hanno portate le teste de' figliuoli del re. Ed egli disse: Mettetele in due mucchi all'entrata della porta, infino a domattina.

Y vino un mensajero que le dió las nuevas, diciendo: Traído han las cabezas de los hijos del rey. Y él le dijo: Ponedlas en dos montones á la entrada de la puerta hasta la mañana.

And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king’s sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.

A messenger came and told him, “They have brought the heads of the king’s sons.” He said, “Lay them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until the morning.”

E la mattina seguente, essendo uscito fuori, egli si fermò, e disse a tutto il popolo: Voi siete giusti; ecco, io ho congiurato contro al mio signore, e l'ho ucciso; ma chi ha uccisi tutti costoro?

Venida la mañana, salió él, y estando en pie dijo á todo el pueblo: Vosotros sois justos: he aquí yo he conspirado contra mi señor, y lo he muerto: ¿mas quién ha muerto á todos estos?

And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?

Or sappiate che nulla della parola del Signore, che egli ha pronunziata contro alla casa di Achab, è caduto a terra; e ch'egli ha fatto ciò che egli avea parlato per Elia, suo servitore.

Sabed ahora que de la palabra de Jehová que habló sobre la casa de Achâb, nada caerá en tierra: y que Jehová ha hecho lo que dijo por su siervo Elías.

Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.

Know now that nothing will fall to the earth of the LORD’s word, which the LORD spoke concerning Ahab’s house. For the LORD has done that which he spoke by his servant Elijah.”

Iehu percosse ancora tutti quelli ch'erano rimasti della casa di Achab, in Izreel, e tutti i suoi grandi, e i suoi amici, e i suoi principali ufficiali, fino a non lasciarne alcuno di resto.

Mató entonces Jehú á todos los que habían quedado de la casa de Achâb en Jezreel, y á todos sus príncipes, y á todos sus familiares, y á sus sacerdotes, que no le quedó ninguno.

So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.

So Jehu struck all that remained of Ahab’s house in Jezreel, with all his great men, his familiar friends, and his priests, until he left him no one remaining.

Poi si levò, e si partì, e andò in Samaria. E per cammino, essendo presso ad una mandria di pastori, trovò i fratelli di Achazia,

Y levantóse de allí, y vino á Samaria; y llegando él en el camino á una casa de esquileo de pastores,

And he arose and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing house in the way,

He arose and departed, and went to Samaria. As he was at the shearing house of the shepherds on the way,

re di Giuda, e disse: Chi siete voi? Ed essi dissero: Noi siamo i fratelli di Achazia, re di Giuda; e siamo discesi per salutare i figliuoli del re, ed i figliuoli della regina.

Halló allí á los hermanos de Ochôzías rey de Judá, y díjoles: ¿Quién sois vosotros? Y ellos dijeron: Somos hermanos de Ochôzías, y hemos venido á saludar á los hijos del rey, y á los hijos de la reina.

Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.

Jehu met with the brothers of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, “Who are you?” They answered, “We are the brothers of Ahaziah. We are going down to greet the children of the king and the children of the queen.”

Allora Iehu disse a' suoi: Pigliateli vivi. Ed essi li presero vivi e li ammazzarono presso alla cisterna della mandria. Ed erano quarantadue uomini; e Iehu non ne lasciò scampare alcuno.

Entonces él dijo: Prendedlos vivos. Y después que los tomaron vivos, degolláronlos junto al pozo de la casa de esquileo, cuarenta y dos varones, sin dejar ninguno de ellos.

And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.

He said, “Take them alive!” They took them alive, and killed them at the pit of the shearing house, even forty-two men. He didn’t leave any of them.

Poi partitosi di là, trovò Ionadab, figliuolo di Recab, che gli veniva incontro. Ed egli lo salutò, e gli disse: È il cuor tuo diritto, come il cuor mio è diritto inverso il tuo? E Ionadab rispose: Sì, lo è. Se così è, disse Iehu, dammi la mano. Ed egli gli diede la mano. E Iehu lo fece salire appresso di sè sopra il carro.

Partiéndose luego de allí encontróse con Jonadab hijo de Rechâb; y después que lo hubo saludado, díjole: ¿Es recto tu corazón, como el mío es recto con el tuyo? Y Jonadab dijo: Lo es. Pues que lo es, dame la mano. Y él le dió su mano. Hízolo luego subir consigo en el carro.

And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

When he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him. He greeted him, and said to him, “Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?” Jehonadab answered, “It is.” “If it is, give me your hand.” He gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

Poi gli disse: Vieni meco, e tu vedrai il mio zelo per lo Signore. Egli adunque fu fatto salire in sul carro di esso.

Y díjole: Ven conmigo, y verás mi celo por Jehová. Pusiéronlo pues en su carro.

And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.

He said, “Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD.” So they made him ride in his chariot.

E quando Iehu fu giunto in Samaria, percosse tutti quelli ch'erano rimasti in Samaria della casa di Achab, finchè l'ebbe distrutta; secondo la parola del Signore ch'egli avea detta ad Elia.

Y luego que hubo Jehú llegado á Samaria, mató á todos los que habían quedado de Achâb en Samaria, hasta extirparlos, conforme á la palabra de Jehová, que había hablado por Elías.

And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which he spake to Elijah.

When he came to Samaria, he struck all who remained to Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed them, according to the LORD’s word which he spoke to Elijah.

Poi Iehu adunò tutto il popolo, e disse loro: Achab ha poco servito a Baal; Iehu gli servirà molto più.

Y juntó Jehú todo el pueblo, y díjoles: Achâb sirvió poco á Baal; mas Jehú lo servirá mucho.

And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.

Jehu gathered all the people together, and said to them, “Ahab served Baal a little, but Jehu will serve him much.

Ora dunque, chiamate a me tutti i profeti di Baal, tutti i suoi ministri, e tutti suoi sacerdoti; non manchine pur uno; perciocchè io ho da fare un gran sacrificio a Baal; chiunque vi mancherà non viverà. Or Iehu facea questo con astuzia, per distruggere i ministri di Baal.

Llamadme pues luego á todos los profetas de Baal, á todos sus siervos, y á todos sus sacerdotes; que no falte uno, porque tengo un gran sacrifico para Baal; cualquiera que faltare, no vivirá. Esto hacía Jehú con astucia, para destruir á los que honraban á Baal.

Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.

Now therefore call to me all the prophets of Baal, all of his worshipers, and all of his priests. Let no one be absent, for I have a great sacrifice to Baal. Whoever is absent, he shall not live.” But Jehu did deceptively, intending to destroy the worshipers of Baal.

E Iehu disse: Santificate una festa solenne a Baal. Ed essi la bandirono.

Y dijo Jehú: Santificad un día solemne á Baal. Y ellos convocaron.

And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.

Jehu said, “Sanctify a solemn assembly for Baal!” So they proclaimed it.

E Iehu mandò per tutto Israele, che tutti i ministri di Baal venissero. Ed essi vennero tutti, e non ne restò pur uno che non venisse. Poi entrarono nel tempio di Baal; e quello fu ripieno da un capo all'altro.

Y envió Jehú por todo Israel, y vinieron todos los siervos de Baal, que no faltó ninguno que no viniese. Y entraron en el templo de Baal, y el templo de Baal se llenó de cabo á cabo.

And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.

Allora Iehu disse al sagrestano: Trai fuori vesti per tutti i ministri di Baal. Ed egli trasse loro fuori le vesti.

Entonces dijo al que tenía el cargo de las vestiduras: Saca vestiduras para todos lo siervos de Baal. Y él les sacó vestimentas.

And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.

He said to him who kept the wardrobe, “Bring out robes for all the worshipers of Baal!” So he brought robes out to them.

E Iehu, e Ionadab, figliuolo di Recab, entrarono dentro al tempio di Baal. E Iehu disse a' ministri di Baal: Ricercate bene, e guardate che talora non vi sia qui fra voi alcuno dei servitori del Signore, ma solo i ministri di Baal.

Y entró Jehú con Jonadab hijo de Rechâb en el templo de Baal, y dijo á los siervos de Baal: Mirad y ved que por dicha no haya aquí entre vosotros alguno de los siervos de Jehová, sino solos los siervos de Baal.

And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only.

Jehu went with Jehonadab the son of Rechab into the house of Baal. Then he said to the worshipers of Baal, “Search, and see that none of the servants of the LORD are here with you, but only the worshipers of Baal.”

Essi adunque entrarono per far sacrificii e olocausti. Or Iehu avea posti ottant'uomini di fuori; a' quali disse: Se alcun di costoro, che io vi metto nelle mani, scampa, la vita di colui che l'avrà lasciato scampare, sarà per la vita di esso.

Y como ellos entraron para hacer sacrificios y holocaustos, Jehú puso fuera ochenta hombres, y díjoles: Cualquiera que dejare vivo alguno de aquellos hombres que yo he puesto en vuestras manos, su vida será por la del otro.

And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.

So they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had appointed for himself eighty men outside, and said, “If any of the men whom I bring into your hands escape, he who lets him go, his life shall be for the life of him.”

E quando quelli ebber finito di far l'olocausto, Iehu disse a' sergenti, ed a' capitani: Entrate, percoteteli, non iscampine pur uno. Essi adunque li percossero a fil di spada; e li gittarono via, e andarono nella città del tempio di Baal.

Y después que acabaron ellos de hacer el holocausto, Jehú dijo á los de su guardia y á los capitanes: Entrad, y matadlos; que no escape ninguno. Y los hirieron á cuchillo: y dejáronlos tendidos los de la guardia y los capitanes, y fueron hasta la ciudad del templo de Baal.

And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.

As soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, “Go in and kill them! Let no one escape.” So they struck them with the edge of the sword. The guard and the captains threw the bodies out, and went to the inner shrine of the house of Baal.

E trassero fuori le statue del tempio di Baal, e le bruciarono;

Y sacaron las estatuas de la casa de Baal, y quemáronlas.

And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.

They brought out the pillars that were in the house of Baal and burned them.

e ruppero la statua di Baal, e disfecero il tempio di esso e lo ridussero in laterinee così è restato fino al dì d'oggi.

Y quebraron la estatua de Baal, y derribaron la casa de Baal, é hiciéronla necesaria, hasta hoy.

And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.

They broke down the pillar of Baal, and broke down the house of Baal, and made it a latrine, to this day.

COSÌ Iehu sterminò Baal da Israele.

Así extinguió Jehú á Baal de Israel.

Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.

Ma pure Iehu non si rivolse da' peccati di Geroboamo, figliuolo di Nebat, co' quali egli avea fatto peccare Israele, cioè, da' vitelli d'oro, ch'erano in Betel, e in Dan.

Con todo eso Jehú no se apartó de los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, que hizo pecar á Israel; á saber, de en pos de los becerros de oro que estaban en Beth-el y en Dan.

Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Beth-el, and that were in Dan.

However, Jehu didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin—the golden calves that were in Bethel and that were in Dan.

E il Signore disse a Iehu: Perciocchè tu hai bene eseguito ciò che mi piaceva, ed hai fatto alla casa di Achab, secondo tutto quello che io avea nel cuore, i tuoi figliuoli sederanno sopra il trono d'Israele fino alla quarta generazione.

Y Jehová dijo á Jehú: Por cuanto has hecho bien ejecutando lo recto delante de mis ojos, é hiciste á la casa de Achâb conforme á todo lo que estaba en mi corazón, tus hijos se sentarán sobre el trono de Israel hasta la cuarta generación.

And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.

The LORD said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in executing that which is right in my eyes, and have done to Ahab’s house according to all that was in my heart, your descendants shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”

Ma Iehu non osservò di camminare con tutto il suo cuore nella Legge del Signore Iddio d'Israele; egli non si rivolse da' peccati di Geroboamo, co' quali egli avea fatto peccare Israele.

Mas Jehú no cuidó de andar en la ley de Jehová Dios de Israel con todo su corazón, ni se apartó de los pecados de Jeroboam, el que había hecho pecar á Israel.

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam, with which he made Israel to sin.

In quel tempo il Signore cominciò a mozzar parte d'Israele. Ed Hazael percosse gl'Israeliti in tutte le lor frontiere;

En aquellos días comenzó Jehová á talar en Israel: é hiriólos Hazael en todos los términos de Israel,

In those days the LORD began to cut Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;

In those days the LORD began to cut away parts of Israel; and Hazael struck them in all the borders of Israel

verso il Giordano, dall'Oriente, tutto il paese di Galaad, e quel de' Gaditi, e de' Rubeniti, e de' Manassiti; da Aroer, che è sul torrente di Arnon, e Galaad, e Basan.

Desde el Jordán al nacimiento del sol, toda la tierra de Galaad, de Gad, de Rubén, y de Manasés, desde Aroer que está junto al arroyo de Arnón, á Galaad y á Basán.

From Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

Ora, quant'è al rimanente de' fatti di Iehu, e tutto quello ch'egli fece, e tutte le sue prodezze; queste cose non sono esse scritte nel libro delle Croniche dei re d'Israele?

Lo demás de los hechos de Jehú, y todas las cosas que hizo, y toda su valentía, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

E Iehu giacque coi suoi padri, e fu seppellito in Samaria; e Ioachaz, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.

Y durmió Jehú con sus padres, y sepultáronlo en Samaria: y reinó en su lugar Joachâz su hijo.

And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.

E il tempo che Iehu regnò sopra Israele in Samaria, fu di ventotto anni.

El tiempo que reinó Jehú sobre Israel en Samaria, fué veintiocho años.

And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.
