El año 23 de Joás, hijo de Ocozías, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Joacaz, hijo de Jehú, sobre Israel en Samaria, y reinó 17 años.

EN el año veintitrés de Joas hijo de Ochôzías, rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Joachâz hijo de Jehú sobre Israel en Samaria; y reinó diecisiete años.

In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years.

In the twenty-third year of Joash the son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria for seventeen years.

Hizo lo malo ante Yavé, porque siguió tras los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, con los cuales estimuló a pecar a Israel, y no se apartó de ellos.

E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, y siguió los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar á Israel; y no se apartó de ellos.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.

La ira de Yavé se encendió contra Israel, y los entregó en repetidas ocasiones en mano de Hazael, rey de Siria, y en mano de Ben-adad, hijo de Hazael.

Y encendióse el furor de Jehová contra Israel, y entrególos en mano de Hazael rey de Siria, y en mano de Ben-adad hijo de Hazael, por largo tiempo.

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael, all their days.

The LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, continually.

Pero Joacaz oró a Yavé, y Yavé lo escuchó, porque Él veía la aflicción de Israel, cómo los oprimía el rey de Siria.

Mas Joachâz oró á la faz de Jehová, y Jehová lo oyó: porque miró la aflicción de Israel, pues el rey de Siria los afligía.

And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.

Yavé dio a Israel un libertador, y se libraron de la mano de Siria. Los hijos de Israel vivieron en sus tiendas como antes.

(Y dió Jehová salvador á Israel, y salieron de bajo la mano de los Siros; y habitaron los hijos de Israel en sus estancias, como antes.

(And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.

Pero no se apartaron de los pecados de la casa de Jeroboam, con los cuales estimuló a pecar a Israel, sino anduvieron en ellos. También la Asera seguía en pie en Samaria.

Con todo eso no se apartaron de los pecados de la casa de Jeroboam, el que hizo pecar á Israel: en ellos anduvieron; y también el bosque permaneció en Samaria.)

A Joacaz no le quedaban sino 50 jinetes, diez carruajes y 10.000 hombres de infantería, porque el rey de Siria los había destruido y los había dejado como el polvo de la trilla.

Porque no le había quedado gente á Joachâz, sino cincuenta hombres de á caballo, y diez carros, y diez mil hombres de á pié; pues el rey de Siria los había destruído, y los había puesto como polvo para hollar.

Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.

Joacaz descansó con sus antepasados y lo sepultaron en Samaria. Reinó en su lugar su hijo Jeoás.

In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned sixteen years.

Todos los hechos de Jeoás y su valor al luchar contra Amasías, rey de Judá, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

Lo demás de los hechos de Joas, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su esfuerzo con que guerreó contra Amasías rey de Judá, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

Jeoás descansó con sus antepasados, y Jeroboam se sentó en su trono. Jeoás fue sepultado en Samaria con los reyes de Israel.

Eliseo cayó enfermo con la enfermedad por la cual iba a morir. Y Jeoás, rey de Israel, bajó y lloró delante de él, y dijo: ¡Padre mío, padre mío! ¡Carroza de Israel y su jinete!

Estaba Eliseo enfermo de aquella su enfermedad de que murió. Y descendió á él Joas rey de Israel, y llorando delante de él, dijo: ¡Padre mío, padre mío, carro de Israel y su gente de á caballo!

Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.

Now Elisha became sick with the illness of which he died; and Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over him, and said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!”

Y dijo al rey de Israel: Pon tu mano sobre el arco. Y él puso su mano sobre el arco. Entonces Eliseo apoyó sus manos sobre las manos del rey

And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king’s hands.

He said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow;” and he put his hand on it. Elisha laid his hands on the king’s hands.

y dijo: Abre la ventana hacia el oriente, y él la abrió. Entonces Eliseo dijo: ¡Tira! Y al tirar él, Eliseo dijo: ¡Flecha de victoria de Yavé! ¡Sí, flecha de victoria contra Siria, pues matarás a los sirios en Afec hasta acabarlos!

Y dijo: Abre la ventana de hacia el oriente. Y como él la abrió dijo Eliseo: Tira. Y tirando él, dijo Eliseo: Saeta de salud de Jehová, y saeta de salud contra Siria: porque herirás á los Siros en Aphec, hasta consumirlos.

And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD’s deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.

He said, “Open the window eastward;” and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot!” and he shot. He said, “The LORD’s arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for you will strike the Syrians in Aphek until you have consumed them.”

Y agregó: Toma las flechas. Y las tomó. Entonces dijo al rey de Israel: ¡Golpea la tierra! Él la golpeó tres veces y se detuvo.

Y tornóle á decir: Toma las saetas. Y luego que el rey de Israel las hubo tomado, díjole: Hiere la tierra. Y él hirió tres veces, y cesó.

And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.

He said, “Take the arrows;” and he took them. He said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground;” and he struck three times, and stopped.

Y el varón de ʼElohim se airó contra él y dijo: ¡Si hubieras golpeado cinco o seis veces, entonces herirías a Siria hasta acabarla! Pero ahora vencerás a Siria solo tres veces.

Entonces el varón de Dios, enojado con él, le dijo: A herir cinco ó seis veces, herirías á Siria, hasta no quedar ninguno: empero ahora tres veces herirás á Siria.

And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.

The man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times. Then you would have struck Syria until you had consumed it, but now you will strike Syria just three times.”

Eliseo murió y lo sepultaron. El año siguiente llegaron bandas armadas de moabitas a la tierra.

Aconteció que al sepultar a un hombre, de repente vieron una banda armada, y lanzaron el muerto al sepulcro de Eliseo. Cuando el cadáver tocó los huesos de Eliseo, revivió y se levantó sobre sus pies.

Y aconteció que al sepultar unos un hombre, súbitamente vieron una partida, y arrojaron al hombre en el sepulcro de Eliseo: y cuando llegó á tocar el muerto los huesos de Eliseo, revivió, y levantóse sobre sus pies.

And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

As they were burying a man, behold, they saw a band of raiders; and they threw the man into Elisha’s tomb. As soon as the man touched Elisha’s bones, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

Hazael, rey de Siria, afligió a Israel todos los días de Joacaz.

Pero Yavé tuvo misericordia y se compadeció de ellos. Se volvió hacia ellos a causa de su Pacto con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob. No los destruyó, ni los echó de su Presencia hasta ahora.

Mas Jehová tuvo misericordia de ellos, y compadecióse de ellos, y mirólos, por amor de su pacto con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob; y no quiso destruirlos ni echarlos de delante de sí hasta ahora.

And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.

Murió Hazael, rey de Siria, y su hijo Ben-adad reinó en su lugar.

Jeoás, hijo de Joacaz, volvió a quitar de mano de Ben-adad, hijo de Hazael, las ciudades que éste tomó en guerra de mano de su padre Joacaz. Tres veces Jeoás lo venció, y recuperó las ciudades de Israel.

Y volvió Joas hijo de Joachâz, y tomó de mano de Ben-adad hijo de Hazael, las ciudades que él había tomado de mano de Joachâz su padre en guerra. Tres veces lo batió Joas, y restituyó las ciudades á Israel.

And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
