En una ocasión, Amasías dio muerte a diez mil edomitas en el valle de la Sal; también conquistó la ciudad de Selá, y le cambió el nombre por el de Joctel, como se le conoce hasta este día.

Este hirió asimismo diez mil Idumeos en el valle de las Salinas, y tomó á Sela por guerra, y llamóla Jocteel, hasta hoy.
