Mas Amazias não quis ouvir o seu conselho, e Jeoás, rei de Israel, reuniu o seu exército e o atacou. A batalha entre Jeoás, rei de Israel, e Amazias, rei de Judá, começou em Bete-Semes, uma das cidades de Judá.
