Im zweiten Jahre des Joas, des Sohnes Joahas, des Königs von Israel, ward Amazia König, der Sohn des Königs Joas von Juda.

EN el año segundo de Joas hijo de Joachâz rey de Israel, comenzó á reinar Amasías hijo de Joas rey de Judá.

In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.

Mit fünfundzwanzig Jahren ward er König und regierte neunundzwanzig Jahre lang zu Jerusalem.

Cuando comenzó á reinar era de veinticinco años, y veintinueve años reinó en Jerusalem: el nombre de su madre fué Joaddan, de Jerusalem.

Und er tat, was dem HERRN wohlgefiel, doch nicht wie sein Vater David, sondern ganz so, wie sein Vater Joas getan hatte.

Y él hizo lo recto en ojos de Jehová, aunque no como David su padre: hizo conforme á todas las cosas que había hecho Joas su padre.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.

Nur die Höhen kamen nicht weg, sondern das Volk opferte und räucherte noch auf den Höhen.

Sobald er nun die Herrschaft fest in Händen hatte, erschlug er seine Knechte, die seinen königlichen Vater erschlagen hatten.

Aber die Söhne der Mörder tötete er nicht, wie denn im Gesetzbuch Moses geschrieben steht, wo der HERR geboten und gesagt hat: Die Väter sollen nicht um der Söhne willen sterben, und die Söhne sollen nicht um der Väter willen getötet werden; sondern ein jeder soll um seiner Sünde willen sterben.

Er schlug auch die Edomiter im Salztal, zehntausend †Mann und gewann Sela im Kampfe und hieß die †Stadt Jokteel, wie sie heute noch heißt.

Y Joas rey de Israel envió á Amasías rey de Judá esta respuesta: El cardillo que está en el Líbano envió á decir al cedro que está en el Líbano: Da tu hija por mujer á mi hijo. Y pasaron las bestias fieras que están en el Líbano, y hollaron el cardillo.

And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.

Du hast die Edomiter gänzlich geschlagen; dessen erhebt sich dein Herz. Trage Sorge zu deinem Ruhm und bleibe daheim! Warum willst du dich ins Unglück stürzen, daß du fallest und Juda mit dir?

Ciertamente has herido á Edom, y tu corazón te ha envanecido: gloríate pues, mas estáte en tu casa. ¿Y por qué te entrometerás en un mal, para que caigas tú, y Judá contigo?

Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory of this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?

You have indeed struck Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Enjoy the glory of it, and stay at home; for why should you meddle to your harm, that you fall, even you, and Judah with you?”

Aber Amazia wollte nicht hören. Da zog Joas, der König von Israel, herauf, und sie schauten sich ins Angesicht, er und Amazia, der König von Juda, zu Beth-Semes, das in Juda liegt.

Mas Amasías no dió oídos; por lo que subió Joas rey de Israel, y viéronse de rostro él y Amasías rey de Judá, en Beth-semes, que es de Judá.

But Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth-shemesh, which belongeth to Judah.

Aber Juda ward vor Israel geschlagen, so daß ein jeder in seine Hütte floh.
