19Entonces el rey Pul, es decir, Tiglat Piléser, de Asiria, invadió la tierra, pero el rey Menajem lo compró con un regalo de treinta y tres mil kilos de plata, para que lo dejara seguir siendo rey de Israel. Para conseguir esa cantidad de plata, Menajem obligó a los ricos de Israel a entregar, como impuesto, medio kilo de plata. Entonces Tiglat Piléser se regresó a su tierra.
