Cuando Azarías murió, fue sepultado con sus antepasados en la Ciudad de David, en Jerusalén, y su hijo Jotán fue el nuevo rey.

Y durmió Azarías con sus padres, y sepultáronlo con sus padres en la ciudad de David: y reinó en su lugar Jotham su hijo.
