Al oírlo, el rey Ezequías se quitó la túnica, se puso ropas ásperas y entró en el templo del Señor.

Y ellos le dijeron: Ezequías dice: Hoy es un día de angustia, de castigo y de vergüenza; como cuando los niños están listos para nacer, pero no hay fuerzas para darles a luz.
Que le dijesen: Así ha dicho Ezechîas: Este día es día de angustia, y de reprensión, y de blasfemia; porque los hijos han venido hasta la rotura, y la que pare no tiene fuerzas.
And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
They said to him, “Hezekiah says, ‘Today is a day of trouble, of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them.
Puede ser que él Señor tu Dios escuche las palabras del Rabsaces, a quien el rey de Asiria, su amo, envió a blasfemar al Dios vivo, y lo reprenda por las palabras que él Señor mismo, tu Dios habrá oído; entonces haz tu oración por el remanente de gente que aún queda.
Quizá oirá Jehová tu Dios todas las palabras de Rabsaces, al cual el rey de los Asirios su señor ha enviado para injuriar al Dios vivo, y á vituperar con palabras, las cuales Jehová tu Dios ha oído: por tanto, eleva oración por las reliquias que aun se hallan.
It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.
It may be the LORD your God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which the LORD your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”
Entonces los siervos del rey Ezequías vinieron a Isaías.

Entonces Isaías les dijo: Esto es lo que debes decirle a tu amo: El Señor dice: No te preocupes por las palabras que los siervos del rey de Asiria han dicho contra mí en tu oído.
E Isaías les respondió: Así diréis á vuestro señor: Así ha dicho Jehová; No temas por las palabras que has oído, con las cuales me han blasfemado los siervos del rey de Asiria.
And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master this: ‘The LORD says, “Don’t be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
Mira, pondré espíritu en él, y las malas noticias llegarán a sus oídos, y él volverá a su tierra; y allí lo haré matar a filo de espada.
He aquí pondré yo en él un espíritu, y oirá rumor, y volveráse á su tierra: y yo haré que en su tierra caiga á cuchillo.
Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

Entonces regresó el Rabsaces, y cuando llegó allí, el rey de Asiria estaba haciendo la guerra a Libna, porque había llegado a sus oídos que se había ido de Laquis.

Esto es lo que debes decir a Ezequías, rey de Judá: No permitas que tu Dios, en quien está tu fe, te dé una falsa esperanza, diciendo: Jerusalén no será entregada en manos del rey de Asiria.
Así diréis á Ezechîas rey de Judá: No te engañe tu Dios en quien tú confías, para decir: Jerusalem no será entregada en mano del rey de Asiria.
Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
“Tell Hezekiah king of Judah this: ‘Don’t let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
Sin duda, la historia ha llegado a tus oídos de lo que los reyes de Asiria han hecho a todas las tierras, destruyéndolas por completo; y te mantendrás a salvo?

Ezequías tomó la carta de las manos de los que habían venido con ella; y después de leerlo, Ezequías subió al templo del Señor, abriendo la carta allí delante del Señor.
Y tomó Ezechîas las letras de mano de los embajadores; y después que las hubo leído, subió á la casa de Jehová, y extendiólas Ezechîas delante de Jehová.
And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

E hizo Ezequías su oración al Señor, diciendo: Señor, Dios de Israel, sentado entre los querubines, tú solo eres el Dios de todos los reinos de la tierra; Has hecho los cielos y la tierra.
Y oró Ezechîas delante de Jehová, diciendo: Jehová Dios de Israel, que habitas entre los querubines, tú solo eres Dios de todos los reinos de la tierra; tú hiciste el cielo y la tierra.
And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

Inclina tu oído y escucha, Señor, y abre los ojos, Señor, y mira; tome nota de todas las palabras de Senaquerib que envió a hombres a decir mal contra el Dios vivo.

En verdad, oh Señor, los reyes de Asiria han destruido a las naciones y sus tierras,

Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,

Y han dado sus dioses al fuego. porque no eran dioses, sino madera y piedra, obra de manos de hombres; Así los han dado a la destrucción.
Y que pusieron en el fuego á sus dioses, por cuanto ellos no eran dioses, sino obra de manos de hombres, madera ó piedra, y así los destruyeron.

Entonces Isaías, hijo de Amoz, envió a Ezequías, diciendo: El Señor, el Dios de Israel, dice: La oración que me has hecho contra Senaquerib, rey de Asiria, ha llegado a mis oídos.
Entonces Isaías hijo de Amós envió á decir á Ezechîas: Así ha dicho Jehová, Dios de Israel: Lo que me rogaste acerca de Sennachêrib rey de Asiria, he oído.
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “The LORD, the God of Israel, says ‘You have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, and I have heard you.
Esta es la palabra que el Señor ha dicho contra él: te ha despreciado? Se ha burlado? la hija virgen de Sión, La hija de Jerusalén ha movido su cabeza a tus espaldas.
Esta es la palabra que Jehová ha hablado contra él: Hate menospreciado, hate escarnecido la virgen hija de Sión; ha movido su cabeza detrás de ti la hija de Jerusalem.
This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
This is the word that the LORD has spoken concerning him: ‘The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.
¿Contra quién has dicho cosas malas y amargas? ¿Contra quién ha sonado tu voz y tus ojos levantados? contra él Dios Santo de Israel.
¿A quién has injuriado y á quién has blasfemado? ¿y contra quién has hablado alto, y has alzado en alto tus ojos? Contra el Santo de Israel.
Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

Enviaste a tus siervos con malas palabras contra el Señor, y dijiste: Con todos mis carros de guerra he subido a la cima de las montañas, a las partes más íntimas del Líbano; cortaré sus altos cedros y los mejores árboles de sus bosques; Subiré a sus lugares más altos, a sus espesos bosques.
Por mano de tus mensajeros has proferido injuria contra el Señor, y has dicho: Con la multitud de mis carros he subido á las cumbres de los montes, á las cuestas del Líbano; y cortaré sus altos cedros, sus hayas escogidas; y entraré á la morada de su término, al monte de su Carmel.
By thy messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.
By your messengers, you have defied the Lord, and have said, “With the multitude of my chariots, I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon, and I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice cypress trees; and I will enter into his farthest lodging place, the forest of his fruitful field.
Hice pozos de agua y tomé sus aguas, y con mi pie he secado todos los ríos de Egipto.

¿No ha llegado a tus oídos cómo lo hice mucho antes, y lo propuse en tiempos pasados? Ahora he dado efecto a mi diseño para que, por su parte, los pueblos fuertes puedan convertirse en masas de muros rotos.
¿Nunca has oído que mucho tiempo ha yo lo hice, y de días antiguos lo he formado? Y ahora lo he hecho venir, y fué para desolación de ciudades fuertes en montones de ruinas.
Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.
Haven’t you heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it of ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to lay waste fortified cities into ruinous heaps.
Por eso sus habitantes no tenían poder, fueron quebrantados y avergonzados; eran como la hierba del campo y la planta verde, como la hierba en los techos que es quemada antes de que crezca.
Y sus moradores, cortos de manos, quebrantados y confusos, fueron cual hierba del campo, como legumbre verde, y heno de los tejados, que antes que venga á madurez es seco.
Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

Porque tu ira contra mí y tus palabras de orgullo han llegado hasta mis oídos, pondré mi anzuelo en tu nariz y mi freno en tus labios, y te haré volver por el camino que viniste.
Por cuanto te has airado contra mí, y tu estruendo ha subido á mis oídos, yo por tanto pondré mi anzuelo en tus narices, y mi bocado en tus labios, y te haré volver por el camino por donde viniste.

Y esta será la señal para ti: obtendrás tu comida este año de lo que surja de sí mismo; y en el segundo año a partir del producto del mismo; y en el tercer año pondrás tu semilla y cosecharás harás enredaderas y tomarás de sus frutos.
Y esto te será por señal Ezechîas: Este año comerás lo que nacerá de suyo, y el segundo año lo que nacerá de suyo; y el tercer año haréis sementera, y segaréis, y plantaréis viñas, y comeréis el fruto de ellas.
And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.
“This will be the sign to you: This year, you will eat that which grows of itself, and in the second year that which springs from that; and in the third year sow and reap, and plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
Y los de Judá que aún viven volverán a echar raíces en la tierra y darán fruto.
Y lo que hubiere escapado, lo que habrá quedado de la casa de Judá, tornará á echar raíz abajo, y hará fruto arriba.
And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

Porque de Jerusalén saldrán los que han estado a salvo, y los que aún viven saldrán del monte Sión: por el propósito fijo del Señor de los ejércitos, esto se hará.
Porque saldrán de Jerusalem reliquias, y los que escaparán, del monte de Sión: el celo de Jehová de los ejércitos hará esto.
For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.
For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go out, and out of Mount Zion those who shall escape. The LORD’s zeal will perform this.
Por esta causa que el Señor dice acerca del rey de Asiria, Él no vendrá a esta ciudad, ni enviará una flecha contra ella; no vendrá con armas, ni levantará una rampa de tierra contra ella;
Por tanto, Jehová dice así del rey de Asiria: No entrará en esta ciudad, ni echará saeta en ella; ni vendrá delante de ella escudo, ni será echado contra ella baluarte.
Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.
“Therefore the LORD says concerning the king of Assyria, ‘He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there. He will not come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.
Por el camino que vino, volverá y no entrará en este pueblo, dice el Señor.
Por el camino que vino se volverá, y no entrará en esta ciudad, dice Jehová.
By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
He will return the same way that he came, and he will not come to this city,’ says the LORD.
Porque mantendré a salvo este pueblo, por mi honor y por el honor de mi siervo David.
Porque yo ampararé á esta ciudad para salvarla, por amor de mí, y por amor de David mi siervo.
For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

Y esa noche salió el ángel del Señor y mató en el ejército de los asirios ciento ochenta y cinco mil hombres; y cuando la gente se levantó temprano en la mañana, no había nada que ver, excepto cadáveres.
Y aconteció que la misma noche salió el ángel de Jehová, é hirió en el campo de los Asirios ciento ochenta y cinco mil; y como se levantaron por la mañana, he aquí los cuerpos de los muertos.
And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
That night, the LORD’s angel went out and struck one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.
Entonces Senaquerib, rey de Asiria, volvió a su lugar en Nínive.

Y sucedió que cuando estaba adorando en la casa de su dios Nisroc, sus hijos Adramelec y Sarezer lo mataron con la espada; Y salieron en vuelo a la tierra de Ararat. Y su hijo Esarhadón se hizo rey en su lugar.
Y aconteció que, estando él adorando en el templo de Nisroch su dios, Adramelech y Saresar sus hijos lo hirieron á cuchillo; y huyéronse á tierra de Ararat. Y reinó en su lugar Esar-hadón su hijo.
And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esar-haddon his son reigned in his stead.
