Lorsque le roi Ezéchias les eut ouïs, il déchira aussi ses vêtements, se couvrit d'un cilice, et alla au temple du Seigneur.

Y COMO el rey Ezechîas lo oyó, rasgó sus vestidos, y cubrióse de saco, y entróse en la casa de Jehová.

And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

Et il envoya Eliacim, et Sobna et Joas, couverts de cilices, auprès du prophète Isaïe, fils d'Amos.

Y envió á Eliacim el mayordomo, y á Sebna escriba, y á los ancianos de los sacerdotes, vestidos de sacos á Isaías profeta hijo de Amós,

And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

Et ils lui dirent : Voici ce que dit Ezéchias : Ce jour est un jour d'affliction, de reproches et de provocation ; car les fils prêts à naître sont venus jusqu'aux douleurs ; mais la mère, en mal d'enfant, n'a plus de force.

Que le dijesen: Así ha dicho Ezechîas: Este día es día de angustia, y de reprensión, y de blasfemia; porque los hijos han venido hasta la rotura, y la que pare no tiene fuerzas.

And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

They said to him, “Hezekiah says, ‘Today is a day of trouble, of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them.

Si, de quelque manière, le Seigneur avait ouï toutes les paroles de Rhabsacès, que le roi des Assyriens, son maître, a envoyé pour outrager le Dieu vivant, pour blasphémer par ces paroles qu'a sans doute entendues le Seigneur ton Dieu, prie donc pour ceux de nous qui restent.

Quizá oirá Jehová tu Dios todas las palabras de Rabsaces, al cual el rey de los Asirios su señor ha enviado para injuriar al Dios vivo, y á vituperar con palabras, las cuales Jehová tu Dios ha oído: por tanto, eleva oración por las reliquias que aun se hallan.

It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.

It may be the LORD your God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which the LORD your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”

Ainsi, les serviteurs du roi Ezéchias vinrent à Isaïe.

Vinieron pues los siervos del rey Ezechîas á Isaías.

Et le prophète leur dit : Dites à votre maître : Voici ce que dit le Seigneur : Ne crains pas les paroles de blasphème que tu as entendues des serviteurs du roi d'Assyrie.

E Isaías les respondió: Así diréis á vuestro señor: Así ha dicho Jehová; No temas por las palabras que has oído, con las cuales me han blasfemado los siervos del rey de Asiria.

And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master this: ‘The LORD says, “Don’t be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

Voilà que je mets en lui un esprit ; il va apprendre une nouvelle, il va retourner en son royaume, et je le ferai périr, par le glaive, en son royaume.

He aquí pondré yo en él un espíritu, y oirá rumor, y volveráse á su tierra: y yo haré que en su tierra caiga á cuchillo.

Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

Behold, I will put a spirit in him, and he will hear news, and will return to his own land. I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”’”

Pendant ce temps, Rhabsacès, ayant ouï dire que le roi était parti de Lachis, le rejoignit à Lobna, qu'il assiégeait.

Y regresando Rabsaces, halló al rey de Asiria combatiendo á Libna; porque había oído que se había partido de Lachîs.

So Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

Alors, le roi entendit parler de Tharaca, roi d'Ethiopie ; on disait : Voilà qu'il s'est mis en campagne pour te combattre. Sennachérib s'en retourna donc ; il envoya des messagers à Ezéchias, disant :

Y oyó decir de Thiraca rey de Ethiopía: He aquí es salido para hacerte guerra. Entonces volvió él, y envió embajadores á Ezechîas, diciendo:

And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,

Que ton Dieu, en qui tu as mis ta confiance, ne t'excite pas, en te disant : Jérusalem ne sera pas livrée aux roi des Assyriens.

Así diréis á Ezechîas rey de Judá: No te engañe tu Dios en quien tú confías, para decir: Jerusalem no será entregada en mano del rey de Asiria.

Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

“Tell Hezekiah king of Judah this: ‘Don’t let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

Tu as ouï tout ce que les rois d'Assyrie ont fait à toutes les contrées en les vouant à la destruction ? Et toi tu leur échapperais !

He aquí tú has oído lo que han hecho los reyes de Asiria á todas las tierras, destruyéndolas; ¿y has tú de escapar?

Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?

Est-ce que les dieux des nations que nos pères ont anéanties, les ont préservées ? Ont-ils sauvé Gozan, et Haran, et Rhaphis et les fils d'Edem, qui habitaient Thaesthen ?

¿Libráronlas los dioses de las gentes, que mis padres destruyeron, es á saber, Gozán, y Harán, y Reseph, y los hijos de Edén que estaban en Thalasar?

Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?

Où sont les rois d'Emath et d'Arphad ? Où est le roi des villes de Sepharvaïm, d'Ana et d'Aba ?

¿Dónde está el rey de Hamath, el rey de Arphad, el rey de la ciudad de Sepharvaim, de Hena, y de Hiva?

Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?

Et Ezéchias prit cette lettre de Sennachérib des mains de ses messagers, et il la lut ; puis, il monta au temple du Seigneur ; il la déploya devant le Seigneur.

Y tomó Ezechîas las letras de mano de los embajadores; y después que las hubo leído, subió á la casa de Jehová, y extendiólas Ezechîas delante de Jehová.

And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

Et il dit : Seigneur Dieu d'Israël, qui êtes assis sur les chérubins, vous êtes le seul Dieu de tous les royaumes de la terre, vous avez créé le ciel et la terre.

Y oró Ezechîas delante de Jehová, diciendo: Jehová Dios de Israel, que habitas entre los querubines, tú solo eres Dios de todos los reinos de la tierra; tú hiciste el cielo y la tierra.

And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, “LORD, the God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.

Seigneur, inclinez votre oreille, et écoutez ; Seigneur, ouvrez les yeux, et voyez ; soyez attentif aux paroles que Sennachérib envoie pour outrager le Dieu vivant.

Inclina, oh Jehová, tu oído, y oye; abre, oh Jehová, tus ojos, y mira: y oye las palabras de Sennachêrib, que ha enviado á blasfemar al Dios viviente.

LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.

Incline your ear, LORD, and hear. Open your eyes, LORD, and see. Hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to defy the living God.

Il est vrai, Seigneur, que les rois des Assyriens ont dépeuplé les nations.

Es verdad, oh Jehová, que los reyes de Asiria han destruído las gentes y sus tierras;

Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,

Truly, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,

Ils ont livré leurs dieux aux flammes ; car ce n'étaient pas des dieux, mais des œuvres des mains des hommes, du bois ou de la pierre ; ils les ont détruits.

Y que pusieron en el fuego á sus dioses, por cuanto ellos no eran dioses, sino obra de manos de hombres, madera ó piedra, y así los destruyeron.

And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

Maintenant, Seigneur notre Dieu, délivrez-nous des mains de Sennachérib, et tous les royaumes de la terre sauront que vous seul êtes le Seigneur Dieu.

Ahora pues, oh Jehová Dios nuestro, sálvanos, te suplico, de su mano, para que sepan todos los reinos de la tierra que tú solo, Jehová, eres Dios.

Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.

Et Isaïe, fils d'Amos, envoya un messager chez Ezéchias, disant : Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu des armées, Dieu d'Israël : La prière que tu m'as faite au sujet de Sennachérib, roi des Assyriens, je l'ai entendue.

Entonces Isaías hijo de Amós envió á decir á Ezechîas: Así ha dicho Jehová, Dios de Israel: Lo que me rogaste acerca de Sennachêrib rey de Asiria, he oído.

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “The LORD, the God of Israel, says ‘You have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, and I have heard you.

Voici les paroles qu'a dites sur lui le Seigneur : La vierge fille de Sion t'a méprisé, et elle t'a raillé ; la vierge fille de Jérusalem a secoué sur toi la tête.

Esta es la palabra que Jehová ha hablado contra él: Hate menospreciado, hate escarnecido la virgen hija de Sión; ha movido su cabeza detrás de ti la hija de Jerusalem.

This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

This is the word that the LORD has spoken concerning him: ‘The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.

Qui donc as-tu outragé ? Contre qui donc as-tu blasphémé ? Contre qui donc as-tu élevé la voix et lancé tes regards hautains ? C'est contre le Saint d'Israël.

¿A quién has injuriado y á quién has blasfemado? ¿y contra quién has hablado alto, y has alzado en alto tus ojos? Contra el Santo de Israel.

Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel!

Tu as outragé le Seigneur par tes messagers, et tu as dit : Avec la multitude de mes chars je suis monté sur la cime des montagnes, sur les pics du Liban ; j'ai abattu ses grands cèdres et ses plus beaux cyprès ; je suis venu au cœur de la forêt de chênes du Carmel.

Por mano de tus mensajeros has proferido injuria contra el Señor, y has dicho: Con la multitud de mis carros he subido á las cumbres de los montes, á las cuestas del Líbano; y cortaré sus altos cedros, sus hayas escogidas; y entraré á la morada de su término, al monte de su Carmel.

By thy messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.

By your messengers, you have defied the Lord, and have said, “With the multitude of my chariots, I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon, and I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice cypress trees; and I will enter into his farthest lodging place, the forest of his fruitful field.

Je me suis baigné dans des eaux étrangères, j'en ai bu ; et, sous la plante de mes pieds, j'ai desséché tous les fleuves, même les plus profonds.

Yo he cavado y bebido las aguas ajenas, y he secado con las plantas de mis pies todos los ríos de lugares bloqueados.

I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.

I have dug and drunk strange waters, and I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt with the sole of my feet.”

Or, c'est moi le Seigneur qui ai formé ce dessein et qui l'ai accompli ; j'ai d'abord excité l'insolence de bandes étrangères habiles à combattre les villes fortifiées.

¿Nunca has oído que mucho tiempo ha yo lo hice, y de días antiguos lo he formado? Y ahora lo he hecho venir, y fué para desolación de ciudades fuertes en montones de ruinas.

Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.

Haven’t you heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it of ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to lay waste fortified cities into ruinous heaps.

Et ceux qui les habitaient ont eu les mains énervées ; ils ont tremblé, ils ont été couverts de honte. Ils sont devenus comme l'herbe des champs, comme la plante verte, comme le gazon des terrasses qu'en marchant on foule aux pieds.

Y sus moradores, cortos de manos, quebrantados y confusos, fueron cual hierba del campo, como legumbre verde, y heno de los tejados, que antes que venga á madurez es seco.

Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field and like the green herb, like the grass on the housetops and like grain blasted before it has grown up.

Je connaissais ta demeure, ton départ, ta fureur et ta rage contre moi ;

Yo he sabido tu asentarte, tu salir y tu entrar, y tu furor contra mí.

But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

But I know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against me.

Tes menaces insolentes sont parvenues à mes oreilles ; mais je mettrai un harpon dans tes narines et un mors à ta bouche, et je te renverrai par le chemin qu'en venant tu as pris.

Por cuanto te has airado contra mí, y tu estruendo ha subido á mis oídos, yo por tanto pondré mi anzuelo en tus narices, y mi bocado en tus labios, y te haré volver por el camino por donde viniste.

Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose, and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.’

Pour toi, Ezéchias, voici le signe : mange cette année ce qui vient de soi-même ; puis, l'année prochaine, ce qui aura poussé. En la troisième année, il y aura semence et moisson ; vous replanterez vos vignes et vous mangerez leurs fruits.

Y esto te será por señal Ezechîas: Este año comerás lo que nacerá de suyo, y el segundo año lo que nacerá de suyo; y el tercer año haréis sementera, y segaréis, y plantaréis viñas, y comeréis el fruto de ellas.

And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.

“This will be the sign to you: This year, you will eat that which grows of itself, and in the second year that which springs from that; and in the third year sow and reap, and plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

Et Sennachérib partit ; il s'en retourna, et il ne sortit plus de Ninive.

Y lo que hubiere escapado, lo que habrá quedado de la casa de Judá, tornará á echar raíz abajo, y hará fruto arriba.

And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

The remnant that has escaped of the house of Judah will again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

Car il sortira un reste de Jérusalem, un débris sauvé de la montagne de Sion ; et cela nous sera accordé par l'amour du Seigneur des armées.

Porque saldrán de Jerusalem reliquias, y los que escaparán, del monte de Sión: el celo de Jehová de los ejércitos hará esto.

For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go out, and out of Mount Zion those who shall escape. The LORD’s zeal will perform this.

N'en est-il pas ainsi ? Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, concernant le roi des Assyriens : Il n'entrera point en cette ville, ses archers n'y lanceront pas une flèche ; il n'y aura pas de bouclier qui s'avance contre elle, on n'élèvera point de retranchements autour de ses remparts.

Por tanto, Jehová dice así del rey de Asiria: No entrará en esta ciudad, ni echará saeta en ella; ni vendrá delante de ella escudo, ni será echado contra ella baluarte.

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.

“Therefore the LORD says concerning the king of Assyria, ‘He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there. He will not come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.

Il s'en retournera par le chemin qu'en venant il a pris, et il n'entrera point en cette ville, dit le Seigneur.

Por el camino que vino se volverá, y no entrará en esta ciudad, dice Jehová.

By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.

He will return the same way that he came, and he will not come to this city,’ says the LORD.

J'étendrai mon bouclier sur cette ville, à cause de moi-même, et à cause de David, mon serviteur.

Porque yo ampararé á esta ciudad para salvarla, por amor de mí, y por amor de David mi siervo.

For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

‘For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for my servant David’s sake.’”

Or, la nuit survint, et l'ange du Seigneur s'avança, et il extermina, dans le camp des Assyriens, cent quatre-vingt-cinq mille hommes ; les survivants se levèrent dès l'aurore, et ils ne virent que des cadavres.

Y aconteció que la misma noche salió el ángel de Jehová, é hirió en el campo de los Asirios ciento ochenta y cinco mil; y como se levantaron por la mañana, he aquí los cuerpos de los muertos.

And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

That night, the LORD’s angel went out and struck one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.

Et Sennachérib partit ; il s'en retourna, et il ne sortit plus de Ninive.

Entonces Sennachêrib, rey de Asiria se partió, y se fué y tornó á Nínive, donde se estuvo.

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, went home, and lived at Nineveh.

Et, comme il adorait dans le temple son dieu Méserach, ses fils Adramélech et Sarasar le tuèrent à coups d'épée ; puis, ils se sauvèrent en la terre d'Ararat, et Asordan, son fils, régna à sa place.

Y aconteció que, estando él adorando en el templo de Nisroch su dios, Adramelech y Saresar sus hijos lo hirieron á cuchillo; y huyéronse á tierra de Ararat. Y reinó en su lugar Esar-hadón su hijo.

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esar-haddon his son reigned in his stead.

As he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.
