Quando il re Ezechia ebbe udite queste cose, si stracciò le vesti, si coprì d’un sacco, ed entrò nella casa dell’Eterno.

Y COMO el rey Ezechîas lo oyó, rasgó sus vestidos, y cubrióse de saco, y entróse en la casa de Jehová.

And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

E mandò Eliakim, prefetto del palazzo, Scebna il segretario, e i più vecchi tra i sacerdoti, coperti di sacchi, dal profeta Isaia, figliuolo di Amots.

Y envió á Eliacim el mayordomo, y á Sebna escriba, y á los ancianos de los sacerdotes, vestidos de sacos á Isaías profeta hijo de Amós,

And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

Essi gli dissero: “Così parla Ezechia: Questo è giorno d’angoscia, di castigo, d’obbrobrio; poiché i figliuoli stan per uscire dal seno materno, ma la forza manca per partorirli.

Que le dijesen: Así ha dicho Ezechîas: Este día es día de angustia, y de reprensión, y de blasfemia; porque los hijos han venido hasta la rotura, y la que pare no tiene fuerzas.

And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

They said to him, “Hezekiah says, ‘Today is a day of trouble, of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them.

Forse l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ha udite tutte le parole di Rabshaké, che il re d’Assiria, suo signore, ha mandato ad oltraggiare l’Iddio vivente; e, forse, l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, punirà le parole che ha udite. Rivolgigli dunque una preghiera a pro del resto del popolo che sussiste ancora!”

Quizá oirá Jehová tu Dios todas las palabras de Rabsaces, al cual el rey de los Asirios su señor ha enviado para injuriar al Dios vivo, y á vituperar con palabras, las cuales Jehová tu Dios ha oído: por tanto, eleva oración por las reliquias que aun se hallan.

It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.

It may be the LORD your God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which the LORD your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”

I servi del re Ezechia si recaron dunque da Isaia.

Vinieron pues los siervos del rey Ezechîas á Isaías.

Ed Isaia disse loro: “Ecco quel che direte al vostro signore: Così dice l’Eterno: Non ti spaventare per le parole che hai udite, con le quali i servi del re d’Assiria m’hanno oltraggiato.

E Isaías les respondió: Así diréis á vuestro señor: Así ha dicho Jehová; No temas por las palabras que has oído, con las cuales me han blasfemado los siervos del rey de Asiria.

And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master this: ‘The LORD says, “Don’t be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

Ecco, io metterò in lui uno spirito tale che, all’udire una certa notizia, egli tornerà al suo paese; ed io lo farò cadere di spada nel suo paese”.

He aquí pondré yo en él un espíritu, y oirá rumor, y volveráse á su tierra: y yo haré que en su tierra caiga á cuchillo.

Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

Behold, I will put a spirit in him, and he will hear news, and will return to his own land. I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”’”

Rabshaké tornò al re d’Assiria, e lo trovò che assediava Libna; poiché egli avea saputo che il suo signore era partito da Lakis.

Y regresando Rabsaces, halló al rey de Asiria combatiendo á Libna; porque había oído que se había partido de Lachîs.

So Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

Or Sennacherib ricevette notizie di Tirhaka, re d’Etiopia, che dicevano: “Ecco, egli s’è mosso per darti battaglia”; perciò inviò di nuovo dei messi ad Ezechia, dicendo loro:

Y oyó decir de Thiraca rey de Ethiopía: He aquí es salido para hacerte guerra. Entonces volvió él, y envió embajadores á Ezechîas, diciendo:

And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,

When he heard it said of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, “Behold, he has come out to fight against you,” he sent messengers again to Hezekiah, saying,

“Direte così ad Ezechia, re di Giuda: Il tuo Dio, nel quale confidi, non t’inganni dicendo: Gerusalemme non sarà data nelle mani del re d’Assiria.

Así diréis á Ezechîas rey de Judá: No te engañe tu Dios en quien tú confías, para decir: Jerusalem no será entregada en mano del rey de Asiria.

Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

“Tell Hezekiah king of Judah this: ‘Don’t let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

Ecco, tu hai udito quello che i re d’Assiria hanno fatto a tutti i paesi, e come li hanno distrutti; e tu scamperesti?

He aquí tú has oído lo que han hecho los reyes de Asiria á todas las tierras, destruyéndolas; ¿y has tú de escapar?

Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?

Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly. Will you be delivered?

Gli dèi delle nazioni che i miei padri distrussero, gli dèi di Gozan, di Haran, di Retsef, dei figliuoli di Eden ch’erano a Telassar, valsero eglino a liberarle?

¿Libráronlas los dioses de las gentes, que mis padres destruyeron, es á saber, Gozán, y Harán, y Reseph, y los hijos de Edén que estaban en Thalasar?

Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?

Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed—Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the children of Eden who were in Telassar?

Dov’è il re di Hamath, il re d’Arpad, e il re della città di Sefarvaim, di Hena e d’Ivva?”

¿Dónde está el rey de Hamath, el rey de Arphad, el rey de la ciudad de Sepharvaim, de Hena, y de Hiva?

Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?

Ezechia, ricevuta la lettera per le mani dei messi, la lesse; poi salì alla casa dell’Eterno, e la spiegò davanti all’Eterno;

Y tomó Ezechîas las letras de mano de los embajadores; y después que las hubo leído, subió á la casa de Jehová, y extendiólas Ezechîas delante de Jehová.

And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to the LORD’s house, and spread it before the LORD.

e davanti all’Eterno pregò in questo modo: “O Eterno, Dio d’Israele, che siedi sopra i cherubini, tu, tu solo sei l’Iddio di tutti i regni della terra; tu hai fatti i cieli e la terra.

Y oró Ezechîas delante de Jehová, diciendo: Jehová Dios de Israel, que habitas entre los querubines, tú solo eres Dios de todos los reinos de la tierra; tú hiciste el cielo y la tierra.

And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, “LORD, the God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.

O Eterno, porgi l’orecchio tuo, e ascolta! o Eterno, apri gli occhi tuoi, e guarda! Ascolta le parole di Sennacherib, che ha mandato quest’uomo per insultare l’Iddio vivente!

Inclina, oh Jehová, tu oído, y oye; abre, oh Jehová, tus ojos, y mira: y oye las palabras de Sennachêrib, que ha enviado á blasfemar al Dios viviente.

LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.

Incline your ear, LORD, and hear. Open your eyes, LORD, and see. Hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to defy the living God.

E’ vero, o Eterno: i re d’Assiria hanno desolato le nazioni e i loro paesi,

Es verdad, oh Jehová, que los reyes de Asiria han destruído las gentes y sus tierras;

Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,

Truly, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,

e han gettati nel fuoco i loro dèi; perché quelli non erano dèi; erano opera delle mani degli uomini; eran legno e pietra; ed essi li hanno distrutti.

Y que pusieron en el fuego á sus dioses, por cuanto ellos no eran dioses, sino obra de manos de hombres, madera ó piedra, y así los destruyeron.

And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

Ahora pues, oh Jehová Dios nuestro, sálvanos, te suplico, de su mano, para que sepan todos los reinos de la tierra que tú solo, Jehová, eres Dios.

Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.

Now therefore, LORD our God, save us, I beg you, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, LORD, are God alone.”

Allora Isaia, figliuolo di Amots, mandò a dire ad Ezechia: “Così parla l’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele: Ho udito la preghiera che mi hai rivolta riguardo a Sennacherib, re d’Assiria.

Entonces Isaías hijo de Amós envió á decir á Ezechîas: Así ha dicho Jehová, Dios de Israel: Lo que me rogaste acerca de Sennachêrib rey de Asiria, he oído.

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “The LORD, the God of Israel, says ‘You have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, and I have heard you.

Questa è la parola che l’Eterno ha pronunziata contro di lui: “La vergine figliuola di Sion ti sprezza, si fa beffe di te; la figliuola di Gerusalemme scrolla il capo dietro a te.

Esta es la palabra que Jehová ha hablado contra él: Hate menospreciado, hate escarnecido la virgen hija de Sión; ha movido su cabeza detrás de ti la hija de Jerusalem.

This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

This is the word that the LORD has spoken concerning him: ‘The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.

Chi hai tu insultato ed oltraggiato? Contro chi hai tu alzata la voce e levati in alto gli occhi tuoi? Contro il Santo d’Israele!

¿A quién has injuriado y á quién has blasfemado? ¿y contra quién has hablado alto, y has alzado en alto tus ojos? Contra el Santo de Israel.

Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel!

Per bocca de’ tuoi messi tu hai insultato il Signore, e hai detto: Con la moltitudine de’ miei carri io son salito in vetta alle montagne, son penetrato nei recessi del Libano; io abbatterò i suoi cedri più alti, i suoi cipressi più belli, e arriverò al suo più remoto ricovero, alla sua più magnifica foresta.

Por mano de tus mensajeros has proferido injuria contra el Señor, y has dicho: Con la multitud de mis carros he subido á las cumbres de los montes, á las cuestas del Líbano; y cortaré sus altos cedros, sus hayas escogidas; y entraré á la morada de su término, al monte de su Carmel.

By thy messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.

By your messengers, you have defied the Lord, and have said, “With the multitude of my chariots, I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon, and I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice cypress trees; and I will enter into his farthest lodging place, the forest of his fruitful field.

Io ho scavato e ho bevuto delle acque straniere; con la pianta de’ miei piedi prosciugherò tutti i fiumi d’Egitto.

Yo he cavado y bebido las aguas ajenas, y he secado con las plantas de mis pies todos los ríos de lugares bloqueados.

I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.

I have dug and drunk strange waters, and I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt with the sole of my feet.”

Non hai udito? Da lungo tempo ho preparato questo: dai tempi antichi ne ho formato il disegno; ed ora ho fatto sì che si compia: che tu riduca città forti in monti di ruine.

¿Nunca has oído que mucho tiempo ha yo lo hice, y de días antiguos lo he formado? Y ahora lo he hecho venir, y fué para desolación de ciudades fuertes en montones de ruinas.

Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.

Haven’t you heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it of ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to lay waste fortified cities into ruinous heaps.

I loro abitanti, privi di forza, sono spaventati e confusi; son come l’erba de’ campi, come il verde tenero de’ prati, come l’erbetta che nasce sui tetti, come grano riarso prima che formi la spiga.

Y sus moradores, cortos de manos, quebrantados y confusos, fueron cual hierba del campo, como legumbre verde, y heno de los tejados, que antes que venga á madurez es seco.

Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field and like the green herb, like the grass on the housetops and like grain blasted before it has grown up.

Ma io so quando ti siedi, quand’esci, quand’entri, e quando t’infurii contro di me.

Yo he sabido tu asentarte, tu salir y tu entrar, y tu furor contra mí.

But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

But I know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against me.

E per codesto tuo infuriare contro di me e perché la tua arroganza è giunta alle mie orecchie, io ti metterò il mio anello nelle narici, il mio morso in bocca, e ti rimenerò indietro per la via che hai fatta, venendo”.

Por cuanto te has airado contra mí, y tu estruendo ha subido á mis oídos, yo por tanto pondré mi anzuelo en tus narices, y mi bocado en tus labios, y te haré volver por el camino por donde viniste.

Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose, and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.’

E questo, o Ezechia, ti servirà di segno: Quest’anno si mangerà il frutto del grano caduto; il secondo anno, quello che crescerà da sé; ma il terzo anno, seminerete e mieterete; pianterete vigne, e ne mangerete il frutto.

Y esto te será por señal Ezechîas: Este año comerás lo que nacerá de suyo, y el segundo año lo que nacerá de suyo; y el tercer año haréis sementera, y segaréis, y plantaréis viñas, y comeréis el fruto de ellas.

And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.

“This will be the sign to you: This year, you will eat that which grows of itself, and in the second year that which springs from that; and in the third year sow and reap, and plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

E ciò che resterà della casa di Giuda e scamperà, continuerà a mettere radici all’ingiù e a portar frutto in alto;

Y lo que hubiere escapado, lo que habrá quedado de la casa de Judá, tornará á echar raíz abajo, y hará fruto arriba.

And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

The remnant that has escaped of the house of Judah will again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

poiché da Gerusalemme uscirà un residuo, e dal monte Sion uscirà quel che sarà scampato. Questo farà lo zelo ardente dell’Eterno degli eserciti!

Porque saldrán de Jerusalem reliquias, y los que escaparán, del monte de Sión: el celo de Jehová de los ejércitos hará esto.

For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go out, and out of Mount Zion those who shall escape. The LORD’s zeal will perform this.

Perciò così parla l’Eterno riguardo al re d’Assiria: Egli non entrerà in questa città, e non vi lancerà freccia; non le si farà innanzi con scudi, e non eleverà trincee contro ad essa.

Por tanto, Jehová dice así del rey de Asiria: No entrará en esta ciudad, ni echará saeta en ella; ni vendrá delante de ella escudo, ni será echado contra ella baluarte.

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.

“Therefore the LORD says concerning the king of Assyria, ‘He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there. He will not come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.

Ei se ne tornerà per la via ond’è venuto, e non entrerà in questa città, dice l’Eterno.

Por el camino que vino se volverá, y no entrará en esta ciudad, dice Jehová.

By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.

He will return the same way that he came, and he will not come to this city,’ says the LORD.

Io proteggerò questa città affin di salvarla, per amor di me stesso e per amor di Davide, mio servo”.

Porque yo ampararé á esta ciudad para salvarla, por amor de mí, y por amor de David mi siervo.

For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

‘For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for my servant David’s sake.’”

E quella stessa notte avvenne che l’angelo dell’Eterno uscì e colpì nel campo degli Assiri cent’ottantacinquemila uomini; e quando la gente si levò la mattina, ecco, eran tutti cadaveri.

Y aconteció que la misma noche salió el ángel de Jehová, é hirió en el campo de los Asirios ciento ochenta y cinco mil; y como se levantaron por la mañana, he aquí los cuerpos de los muertos.

And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

That night, the LORD’s angel went out and struck one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.

Allora Sennacherib re d’Assiria levò il campo, partì e se ne tornò a Ninive, dove rimase.

Entonces Sennachêrib, rey de Asiria se partió, y se fué y tornó á Nínive, donde se estuvo.

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, went home, and lived at Nineveh.

E avvenne che, mentr’egli stava adorando nella casa del suo dio Nisroc, i suoi figliuoli Adrammelec e Saretser lo uccisero a colpi di spada, e si rifugiarono nel paese di Ararat. Esarhaddon, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.

Y aconteció que, estando él adorando en el templo de Nisroch su dios, Adramelech y Saresar sus hijos lo hirieron á cuchillo; y huyéronse á tierra de Ararat. Y reinó en su lugar Esar-hadón su hijo.

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esar-haddon his son reigned in his stead.

As he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.
