1Manasés tenía doce años cuando comenzó a reinar, y gobernó en Jerusalén cincuenta y dos años. Su madre se llamaba Hefzibá.
2Pero hizo lo que ofende a Yahvé, pues siguió las prácticas repugnantes de las naciones que Yahvé había expulsado al paso de los israelitas.
3Reconstruyó los santuarios paganos que su padre Ezequías había destruido; también levantó altares en honor a Baal e hizo una imagen de la diosa Asera, tal como lo había hecho Acab, rey de Israel. Además, adoró a todos los astros del cielo y les rindió culto.
4Construyó altares paganos incluso en el templo de Yahvé, donde Yahvé había dicho: “En Jerusalén pondré mi nombre”.
5En los dos atrios del templo de Yahvé construyó altares para rendir culto a todos los astros del cielo.
6Incluso sacrificó a su propio hijo en el fuego, practicó la hechicería y la adivinación, y consultó a espiritistas y a quienes practicaban la magia. Hizo muchas cosas que ofenden a Yahvé, provocando así su ira.
7Tomó la imagen de la diosa Asera que él mismo había mandado hacer y la puso en el templo, aquel lugar del cual Yahvé les había dicho a David y a su hijo Salomón: “En este templo, y en Jerusalén, la ciudad que elegí entre todas las tribus de Israel, pondré mi nombre para siempre.
8Si los israelitas se cuidan de obedecer todo lo que les he mandado y de seguir toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés les entregó, no permitiré que vuelvan a andar errantes lejos de la tierra que di a sus antepasados”.
9Pero el pueblo no escuchó, y Manasés los desvió para que hicieran más mal que las naciones que Yahvé había destruido delante de los israelitas.
10Entonces Yahvé habló por medio de sus siervos los profetas:
11“El rey Manasés de Judá ha cometido estas prácticas asquerosas. Ha hecho más mal que los amorreos que vivieron antes que él, y con sus ídolos ha hecho que Judá peque.
12Por eso, así dice Yahvé, el Dios de Israel: ‘Voy a enviar tal desgracia sobre Jerusalén y Judá, que a todo el que lo oiga le zumbarán los oídos’.
13Usaré con Jerusalén la misma medida que usé con Samaria y la misma plomada que usé con la familia de Acab. Limpiaré a Jerusalén como quien limpia un tazón y lo voltea boca abajo.
14Abandonaré a los sobrevivientes de mi pueblo y los entregaré en manos de sus enemigos; se convertirán en botín y presa de todos sus adversarios.
15Haré esto porque han hecho lo que me ofende y han provocado mi ira desde el día en que sus antepasados salieron de Egipto hasta hoy”.
16Además de haber arrastrado a Judá al pecado de hacer lo que ofende a Yahvé, Manasés derramó tanta sangre inocente que llenó a Jerusalén de un extremo a otro.
17Los demás hechos de Manasés, todo lo que hizo y los pecados que cometió, están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá.
18Cuando Manasés murió, fue sepultado con sus antepasados en el jardín de su palacio, que era el jardín de Uza. Su hijo Amón reinó en su lugar.
19Amón tenía veintidós años cuando comenzó a reinar, y gobernó en Jerusalén dos años. Su madre se llamaba Mesulmet, hija de Haruz, de la ciudad de Jotba.
20Amón hizo lo que ofende a Yahvé, tal como lo había hecho su padre Manasés.
21Siguió el mal ejemplo de su padre y adoró a los mismos ídolos a los que su padre había servido.
22Abandonó a Yahvé, el Dios de sus antepasados, y no quiso seguir su camino.
23Los oficiales de Amón conspiraron contra él y lo asesinaron en su propio palacio.
24Pero la gente del país mató a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón, y nombraron a su hijo Josías como rey en su lugar.
25Los demás hechos de Amón están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá.
26Amón fue sepultado en su tumba, en el jardín de Uza, y su hijo Josías reinó en su lugar.

1DE doce años era Manasés cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó en Jerusalem cincuenta y cinco años: el nombre de su madre fué Hepsiba.
2E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, según las abominaciones de las gentes que Jehová había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.
3Porque él volvió á edificar los altos que Ezechîas su padre había derribado, y levantó altares á Baal, é hizo bosque, como había hecho Achâb rey de Israel: y adoró á todo el ejército del cielo, y sirvió á aquellas cosas.
4Asimismo edificó altares en la casa de Jehová, de la cual Jehová había dicho: Yo pondré mi nombre en Jerusalem.
5Y edificó altares para todo el ejército del cielo en los dos atrios de la casa de Jehová.
6Y pasó á su hijo por fuego, y miró en tiempos, y fué agorero, é instituyó pythones y adivinos, multiplicando así el hacer lo malo en ojos de Jehová, para provocarlo á ira.
7Y puso una entalladura del bosque que él había hecho, en la casa de la cual había Jehová dicho á David y á Salomón su hijo: Yo pondré mi nombre para siempre en esta casa, y en Jerusalem, á la cual escogí de todas las tribus de Israel:
8Y no volveré á hacer que el pie de Israel sea movido de la tierra que dí á sus padres, con tal que guarden y hagan conforme á todas las cosas que yo les he mandado, y conforme á toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés les mandó.
9Mas ellos no escucharon; y Manasés los indujo á que hiciesen más mal que las gentes que Jehová destruyó delante de los hijos de Israel.
10Y habló Jehová por mano de sus siervos los profetas, diciendo:
11Por cuanto Manasés rey de Judá ha hecho estas abominaciones, y ha hecho más mal que todo lo que hicieron los Amorrheos que fueron antes de él, y también ha hecho pecar á Judá en sus ídolos;
12Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová el Dios de Israel: He aquí yo traigo tal mal sobre Jerusalem y sobre Judá, que el que lo oyere, le retiñirán ambos oídos.
13Y extenderé sobre Jerusalem el cordel de Samaria, y el plomo de la casa de Achâb: y yo limpiaré á Jerusalem como se limpia una escudilla, que después que la han limpiado, la vuelven sobre su haz.
14Y desampararé las reliquias de mi heredad, y entregarlas he en manos de sus enemigos; y serán para saco y para robo á todos sus adversarios;
15Por cuanto han hecho lo malo en mis ojos, y me han provocado á ira, desde el día que sus padres salieron de Egipto hasta hoy.
16Fuera de esto, derramó Manasés mucha sangre inocente en gran manera, hasta henchir á Jerusalem de cabo á cabo: además de su pecado con que hizo pecar á Judá, para que hiciese lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
17Lo demás de los hechos de Manasés, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su pecado que cometió, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
18Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y fué sepultado en el huerto de su casa, en el huerto de Uzza; y reinó en su lugar Amón su hijo.
19De veinte y dos años era Amón cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Mesalemeth hija de Harus de Jotba.
20E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como había hecho Manasés su padre.
21Y anduvo en todos los caminos en que su padre anduvo, y sirvió á las inmundicias á las cuales había servido su padre, y á ellas adoró;
22Y dejó á Jehová el Dios de sus padres, y no anduvo en el camino de Jehová.
23Y los siervos de Amón conspiraron contra él, y mataron al rey en su casa.
24Entonces el pueblo de la tierra hirió á todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón; y puso el pueblo de la tierra por rey en su lugar á Josías su hijo.
25Lo demás de los hechos de Amón, que efectuara, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
26Y fué sepultado en su sepulcro en el huerto de Uzza, y reinó en su lugar Josías su hijo.

1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hephzi-bah.
2And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
3For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
4And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.
5And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
6And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
7And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
8Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.
9But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.
10And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,
11Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:
12Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.
13And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.
14And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;
15Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.
16Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
17Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
18And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
19Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
20And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did.
21And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:
22And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD.
23And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house.
24And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
