1Durante el reinado del rey Joacim, el rey Nabucodonosor, de Babilonia, atacó a Jerusalén. Joacim se rindió y le pagó tributos durante tres años, pero luego se rebeló.
2Entonces el Señor envió a caldeos, sirios, amonitas y moabitas contra Judá, para que destruyeran la ciudad, tal como lo había anunciado por medio de sus profetas.
3Es claro que estos desastres sobrevinieron a Judá por orden directa del Señor, que había decidido castigar al pueblo de Judá, haciéndolo ir lejos de su presencia, debido a los muchos pecados de Manasés, quien había llenado a Jerusalén de sangre. Por eso, el Señor no quiso perdonarlo.

5El resto de la historia de la vida de Joacim está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Judá.
6Cuando murió, le sucedió su hijo Joaquín.
7(El faraón egipcio jamás volvió después de ello, porque el rey de Babilonia ocupó todo el territorio que Egipto pretendía tomar, desde el río de Egipto hasta el río Éufrates).
8Joaquín tenía dieciocho años cuando comenzó a reinar en Judá, y reinó en Jerusalén sólo tres meses. Su madre fue Nejustá, hija de Elnatán, de Jerusalén.
9Siguiendo el ejemplo de su padre, Joaquín hizo lo que ofende al Señor.
10Durante su reinado, los oficiales de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, sitiaron la ciudad de Jerusalén.
11Nabucodonosor, en persona, llegó durante el sitio,
12y el rey Joaquín, todos sus funcionarios y la reina madre se rindieron. Entonces Nabucodonosor, que llevaba ocho años como rey de Babilonia, capturó a Joaquín.
13Los babilonios se llevaron consigo todos los tesoros del templo del Señor y de la casa del rey. Además, destrozaron todos los vasos de oro que el rey Salomón había mandado a hacer para el templo del Señor, por orden del Señor.
14El rey Nabucodonosor se llevó diez mil cautivos de Jerusalén, incluyendo a los príncipes y a los mejores soldados, artífices y herreros. Quedó solamente la gente más pobre de aquella tierra.
15Nabucodonosor se llevó a Babilonia al rey Joaquín, junto con sus esposas, sus funcionarios, y la reina madre, así como a los poderosos de la tierra.
16También se llevó a siete mil de los mejores hombres de guerra, y mil artesanos y herreros, todos los cuales eran fuertes y aptos para la guerra.
17Entonces el rey de Babilonia designó a Matanías, tío del rey Joaquín, como rey de Judá. Le cambió el nombre de Matanías por el de Sedequías.
18Sedequías tenía veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar sobre Judá, y reinó en Jerusalén once años. Su madre fue Jamutal, hija de Jeremías, de Libná.
19Siguiendo el ejemplo de Joacim, Sedequías hizo lo malo delante del Señor.
20Por eso, el Señor, en su ira, mandó lejos de su presencia a la gente de Judá y de Jerusalén.

1EN su tiempo subió Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, al cual sirvió Joacim tres años; volvióse luego, y se rebeló contra él.
2Jehová empero envió contra él tropas de Caldeos, y tropas de Siros, y tropas de Moabitas, y tropas de Ammonitas; los cuales envió contra Judá para que la destruyesen, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había hablado por sus siervos los profetas.
3Ciertamente vino esto contra Judá por dicho de Jehová, para quitarla de su presencia, por los pecados de Manasés, conforme á todo lo que hizo;
4Asimismo por la sangre inocente que derramó, pues hinchió á Jerusalem de sangre inocente: Jehová por tanto, no quiso perdonar.
5Lo demás de los hechos de Joacim, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
6Y durmió Joacim con sus padres, y reinó en su lugar Joachîn su hijo.
7Y nunca más el rey de Egipto salió de su tierra: porque el rey de Babilonia le tomó todo lo que era suyo, desde el río de Egipto hasta el río de Eufrates.
8De dieciocho años era Joachîn cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó en Jerusalem tres meses. El nombre de su madre fué Neusta hija de Elnathán, de Jerusalem.
9E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, conforme á todas las cosas que había hecho su padre.
10En aquel tiempo subieron los siervos de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia contra Jerusalem, y la ciudad fué cercada.
11Vino también Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia contra la ciudad, cuando sus siervos la tenían cercada.
12Entonces salió Joachîn rey de Judá al rey de Babilonia, él, y su madre, y sus siervos, y sus príncipes, y sus eunucos: y prendiólo el rey de Babilonia en el octavo año de su reinado.
13Y sacó de allí todos los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa real, y quebró en piezas todos los vasos de oro que había hecho Salomón rey de Israel en la casa de Jehová, como Jehová había dicho.
14Y llevó en cautiverio á toda Jerusalem, á todos los príncipes, y á todos los hombres valientes, hasta diez mil cautivos, y á todos los oficiales y herreros; que no quedó nadie, excepto los pobres del pueblo de la tierra.
15Asimismo trasportó á Joachîn á Babilonia, y á la madre del rey, y á las mujeres del rey, y á sus eunucos, y á los poderosos de la tierra; cautivos los llevó de Jerusalem á Babilonia.
16A todos los hombre de guerra, que fueron siete mil, y á los oficiales y herreros, que fueron mil, y á todos los valientes para hacer la guerra, llevó cautivos el rey de Babilonia.
17Y el rey de Babilonia puso por rey en lugar de Joachîn á Mathanías su tío, y mudóle el nombre en el de Sedecías.
18De veintiún años era Sedecías cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó en Jerusalem once años. El nombre de su madre fué Amutal hija de Jeremías, de Libna.
19E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, conforme á todo lo que había hecho Joacim.
20Fué pues la ira de Jehová contra Jerusalem y Judá, hasta que los echó de su presencia. Y Sedecías se rebeló contra el rey de Babilonia.

1In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
2And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.
3Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;
4And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.
5Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
6So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
7And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that pertained to the king of Egypt.
8Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother’s name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
9And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.
10At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
11And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants did besiege it.
12And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
13And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.
14And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.
15And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king’s mother, and the king’s wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
16And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
17And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father’s brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
18Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
19And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
20For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

1In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.
2The LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, bands of the Syrians, bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the LORD’s word which he spoke by his servants the prophets.
3Surely at the commandment of the LORD this came on Judah, to remove them out of his sight for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,
4and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the LORD would not pardon.

15He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, with the king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officers, and the chief men of the land. He carried them into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
16All the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths one thousand, all of them strong and fit for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
