And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

Entonces Elías dijo a Eliseo: No vayas más lejos, porque el Señor me ha enviado a Betel. Pero Eliseo dijo: Mientras el Señor esté viviendo y tu alma esté viva, no seré separado de ti. Así que bajaron a Betel.
Y dijo Elías á Eliseo: Quédate ahora aquí, porque Jehová me ha enviado á Beth-el. Y Eliseo dijo: Vive Jehová, y vive tu alma, que no te dejaré. Descendieron pues á Beth-el.
And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Beth-el. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Beth-el.
Elijah said to Elisha, “Please wait here, for the LORD has sent me as far as Bethel.” Elisha said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.
Y en Betel, los hijos de los profetas vinieron a Eliseo y le dijeron: ¿Te ha quedado claro que el Señor va a quitarte a tu maestro hoy? Y él dijo: Sí, lo sé: no digas más.
Y saliendo á Eliseo los hijos de los profetas que estaban en Beth-el, dijéronle: ¿Sabes como Jehová quitará hoy á tu señor de tu cabeza? Y él dijo: Sí, yo lo sé; callad.
And the sons of the prophets that were at Beth-el came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?” He said, “Yes, I know it. Hold your peace.”
Entonces Elías le dijo: No vayas más lejos, porque el Señor me ha enviado a Jericó. Pero él dijo: Como el Señor vive y la vida de tu alma, no seré separado de ti. Y se fueron a Jericó.
Y Elías le volvió á decir: Eliseo, quédate aquí ahora, porque Jehová me ha enviado á Jericó. Y él dijo: Vive Jehová, y vive tu alma, que no te dejaré. Vinieron pues á Jericó.

Y en Jericó, los hijos de los profetas se acercaron a Eliseo y le dijeron: ¿Te ha quedado claro que el Señor va a quitarte a tu maestro hoy? Y él respondió: Sí, lo sé: no digas más.
Y llegáronse á Eliseo los hijos de los profetas que estaban en Jericó, y dijéronle: ¿Sabes cómo Jehová quitará hoy á tu señor de tu cabeza? Y él respondió: Sí, yo lo sé; callad.

Entonces Elías le dijo: No vayas más lejos, porque el Señor me ha enviado al Jordán. Pero él dijo: Como el Señor vive y la vida de tu alma, no seré separado de ti. Así siguieron juntos.
Y Elías le dijo: Ruégote que te quedes aquí, porque Jehová me ha enviado al Jordán. Y él dijo: Vive Jehová, y vive tu alma, que no te dejaré. Fueron pues ambos á dos.

Entonces Elías se quitó la túnica y, al enrollarla, le dio un golpe con el agua, y las aguas se separaron, fluyendo de esta manera, de modo que se fueron a tierra firme.
Tomando entonces Elías su manto, doblólo, é hirió las aguas, las cuales se apartaron á uno y á otro lado, y pasaron ambos en seco.
And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.

Y cuando llegaron al otro lado, Elías le dijo a Eliseo: Di lo que quieres que haga por ti antes de que sea separado de tu lado. Y Eliseo dijo: Pido que una doble medida especial de tu espíritu esté sobre mí.

And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
When they had gone over, Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you.” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be on me.”
Y él dijo: Has hecho una petición difícil: aún así, si me ves cuando me separen de ti, obtendrás tu deseo; Pero si no, no será así.
Y él le dijo: Cosa difícil has pedido. Si me vieres cuando fuere quitado de ti, te será así hecho; mas si no, no.
And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
He said, “You have asked a hard thing. If you see me when I am taken from you, it will be so for you; but if not, it will not be so.”
Y mientras seguían su camino, hablando juntos, de repente, carruajes y caballos de fuego los separaban, y Elías subió al cielo con un gran torbellino.
Y aconteció que, yendo ellos hablando, he aquí, un carro de fuego con caballos de fuego apartó á los dos: y Elías subió al cielo en un torbellino.
And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Y cuando Eliseo lo vio, dio un grito: ¡Mi padre, mi padre, los carruajes de Israel y sus jinetes! Y no lo vio más; entonces Eliseo tomó su ropa y la rasgó en dos y él estaba lleno de pena.
Y viéndolo Eliseo, clamaba: ¡Padre mío, padre mío, carro de Israel y su gente de á caballo! Y nunca más le vió, y trabando de sus vestidos, rompiólos en dos partes.
And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

Luego tomó la túnica de Elías, que había sido quitada de él, y regresó hasta que llegó al borde del Jordán.

He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;

Entonces tomó la túnica de Elías, que había sido quitada de él y le dio un golpe de agua, y dijo: ¿Dónde está el Señor, el Dios de Elías? y a su golpe las aguas se separaron de este modo; y Eliseo se acercó.
Y tomando el manto de Elías que se le había caído, hirió las aguas, y dijo: ¿Dónde está Jehová, el Dios de Elías? Y así que hubo del mismo modo herido las aguas, apartáronse á uno y á otro lado, y pasó Eliseo.
And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.

Y cuando los hijos de los profetas de Jericó, que estaban frente, a él lo vieron, dijeron: El espíritu de Elías descansa sobre Eliseo. fueron a su encuentro, y descendieron sobre la tierra delante de él.
Y viéndole los hijos de los profetas que estaban en Jericó de la otra parte, dijeron: El espíritu de Elías reposó sobre Eliseo. Y viniéronle á recibir, é inclináronse á él hasta la tierra.
And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

Y ellos dijeron: Tus siervos tienen con nosotros aquí cincuenta hombres fuertes; te pedimos déjalos ir en busca de Elías; porque puede ser que el espíritu del Señor lo haya levantado y puesto en una montaña o en algún valle. Pero él dijo: No los envíes.
Y dijéronle: He aquí hay con tus siervos cincuenta varones fuertes: vayan ahora y busquen á tu señor; quizá lo ha levantado el espíritu de Jehová, y lo ha echado en algún monte ó en algún valle. Y él les dijo: No enviéis.
And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the LORD hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
They said to him, “See now, there are with your servants fifty strong men. Please let them go and seek your master. Perhaps the LORD’s Spirit has taken him up, and put him on some mountain or into some valley.” He said, “Don’t send them.”
Pero cuando lo siguieron pidiendo, se avergonzó y le dijo: Envía, entonces. Y enviaron cincuenta hombres; pero después de tres días de búsqueda, volvieron sin haberlo visto.
Mas ellos le importunaron, hasta que avergonzándose dijo: Enviad. Entonces ellos enviaron cincuenta hombres, los cuales lo buscaron tres días, mas no lo hallaron.
And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
When they urged him until he was ashamed, he said, “Send them.” Therefore they sent fifty men; and they searched for three days, but didn’t find him.
Y volvieron a él mientras estaba en Jericó; Y él les dijo: ¿No Lea dije: no vayan?
Y cuando volvieron á él, que se había quedado en Jericó, él les dijo: ¿No os dije yo que no fueseis?
And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?
They came back to him while he stayed at Jericho; and he said to them, “Didn’t I tell you, ‘Don’t go’?”
Entonces los hombres del pueblo dijeron a Eliseo: Ya ves que la posición de este pueblo es buena; pero el agua es mala, lo que hace que los críos del ganado nazcan muertos.
Y los hombres de la ciudad dijeron á Eliseo: He aquí el asiento de esta ciudad es bueno, como mi señor ve; mas las aguas son malas, y la tierra enferma.
And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren.
The men of the city said to Elisha, “Behold, please, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the land is barren.”
Entonces él dijo: Tráeme un tazón nuevo, y ponle sal; Y se lo llevaron a él.
Entonces él dijo: Traedme una botija nueva, y poned en ella sal. Y trajéronsela.
And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
He said, “Bring me a new jar, and put salt in it.” Then they brought it to him.
Salió al manantial de donde salía el agua, puso sal en él y dijo: Dice el Señor: Ahora he endulzado esta agua; Ya no será mortal o infértil.
Y saliendo él á los manaderos de las aguas, echó dentro la sal, y dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Yo sané estas aguas, y no habrá más en ellas muerte ni enfermedad.
And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
He went out to the spring of the waters, and threw salt into it, and said, “The LORD says, ‘I have healed these waters. There shall not be from there any more death or barren wasteland.’”
Y el agua se volvió dulce hasta el día de hoy, como dijo Eliseo.
Y fueron sanas las aguas hasta hoy, conforme á la palabra que habló Eliseo.
So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.

Entonces de allí subió a Betel; y en su camino, algunos niños pequeños salieron de la ciudad e hicieron burla de él, gritando, ¡Sube, calvo! Sube, calvo!
Después subió de allí á Beth-el; y subiendo por el camino, salieron los muchachos de la ciudad, y se burlaban de él, diciendo: ¡Calvo, sube! ¡calvo, sube!
And he went up from thence unto Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
He went up from there to Bethel. As he was going up by the way, some youths came out of the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldy! Go up, you baldy!”
Y volviéndose atrás, los vio, y los condenó en el nombre del Señor. Y dos osas salieron del bosque y mataron a cuarenta y dos niños.
Y mirando él atrás, viólos, y maldíjolos en el nombre de Jehová. Y salieron dos osos del monte, y despedazaron de ellos cuarenta y dos muchachos.
And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
He looked behind him and saw them, and cursed them in the LORD’s name. Then two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of those youths.
Desde allí fue al Monte Carmelo y regresó de allí a Samaria.
De allí fué al monte de Carmelo, y de allí volvió á Samaria.
And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.
