Da gingen die Prophetensöhne, die zu Bethel waren, heraus zu Elisa und sprachen zu ihm: Weißt du auch, daß der HERR deinen Herrn heute über deinem Haupte hinwegnehmen wird? Er aber sprach: Ich weiß es auch; schweigt nur still!

And the sons of the prophets that were at Beth-el came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?” He said, “Yes, I know it. Hold your peace.”

And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

Er sprach: Du hast eine schwer zu erfüllende Bitte getan: wirst du mich sehen, wenn ich von dir genommen werde, so wird es geschehen, wo aber nicht, so wird es nicht sein!
Y él le dijo: Cosa difícil has pedido. Si me vieres cuando fuere quitado de ti, te será así hecho; mas si no, no.
And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
He said, “You have asked a hard thing. If you see me when I am taken from you, it will be so for you; but if not, it will not be so.”
Und während sie noch miteinander gingen und redeten, siehe, da kam ein feuriger Wagen mit feurigen Pferden und trennte beide voneinander. Und Elia fuhr also im Wetter gen Himmel.

And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Als aber die Prophetensöhne, die bei Jericho ihm gegenüber standen, das sahen, sprachen sie: Der Geist des Elia ruht auf Elisa! Und sie gingen ihm entgegen,
Y viéndole los hijos de los profetas que estaban en Jericó de la otra parte, dijeron: El espíritu de Elías reposó sobre Eliseo. Y viniéronle á recibir, é inclináronse á él hasta la tierra.
And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

Vielleicht hat ihn der Geist des HERRN genommen und auf irgend einen Berg oder in irgend ein Tal geworfen? Er aber sprach: Schicket sie nicht!
Y dijéronle: He aquí hay con tus siervos cincuenta varones fuertes: vayan ahora y busquen á tu señor; quizá lo ha levantado el espíritu de Jehová, y lo ha echado en algún monte ó en algún valle. Y él les dijo: No enviéis.
And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the LORD hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
They said to him, “See now, there are with your servants fifty strong men. Please let them go and seek your master. Perhaps the LORD’s Spirit has taken him up, and put him on some mountain or into some valley.” He said, “Don’t send them.”
Aber sie drangen in ihn, bis er ganz verlegen ward und sprach: So laßt sie gehen! Da sandten sie fünfzig Männer, die suchten ihn drei Tage lang, aber sie fanden ihn nicht.

And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.

Und als sie wieder zu ihm zurückkehrten, da er noch zu Jericho war, sprach er zu ihnen: Habe ich euch nicht gesagt, ihr solltet nicht hingehen?
Y cuando volvieron á él, que se había quedado en Jericó, él les dijo: ¿No os dije yo que no fueseis?
And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?
They came back to him while he stayed at Jericho; and he said to them, “Didn’t I tell you, ‘Don’t go’?”
Und die Männer der Stadt sprachen zu Elisa: Siehe doch, in dieser Stadt ist gut wohnen, wie mein Herr sieht; aber das Wasser ist schlecht, und das Land macht kinderlos!
Y los hombres de la ciudad dijeron á Eliseo: He aquí el asiento de esta ciudad es bueno, como mi señor ve; mas las aguas son malas, y la tierra enferma.
And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren.
The men of the city said to Elisha, “Behold, please, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the land is barren.”
Er sprach: Bringt mir eine neue Schale und tut Salz darein! Und sie brachten es ihm.
Entonces él dijo: Traedme una botija nueva, y poned en ella sal. Y trajéronsela.
And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
He said, “Bring me a new jar, and put salt in it.” Then they brought it to him.
Da ging er hinaus zu der Wasserquelle und warf das Salz hinein und sprach: So spricht der HERR: Ich habe dieses Wasser gesund gemacht, es soll fortan weder Tod noch Kinderlosigkeit daher kommen!
Y saliendo él á los manaderos de las aguas, echó dentro la sal, y dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Yo sané estas aguas, y no habrá más en ellas muerte ni enfermedad.
And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
He went out to the spring of the waters, and threw salt into it, and said, “The LORD says, ‘I have healed these waters. There shall not be from there any more death or barren wasteland.’”

Después subió de allí á Beth-el; y subiendo por el camino, salieron los muchachos de la ciudad, y se burlaban de él, diciendo: ¡Calvo, sube! ¡calvo, sube!
And he went up from thence unto Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
He went up from there to Bethel. As he was going up by the way, some youths came out of the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldy! Go up, you baldy!”
Da wandte er sich um, und da er sie sah, fluchte er ihnen im Namen des HERRN. Da kamen zwei Bären aus dem Walde und zerrissen zweiundvierzig Kinder.
Y mirando él atrás, viólos, y maldíjolos en el nombre de Jehová. Y salieron dos osos del monte, y despedazaron de ellos cuarenta y dos muchachos.
And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
He looked behind him and saw them, and cursed them in the LORD’s name. Then two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of those youths.
