Joram, der Sohn Ahabs, wurde König über Israel zu Samaria im achtzehnten Jahre der Regierung des Königs Josaphat von Juda und regierte zwölf Jahre.

Y JORAM hijo de Achâb comenzó á reinar en Samaria sobre Israel el año dieciocho de Josaphat rey de Judá; y reinó doce años.

Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.

Er tat, was dem HERRN mißfiel, jedoch nicht so schlimm wie sein Vater und seine Mutter; denn er entfernte die Götzensäule Baals, die sein Vater hatte aufstellen lassen,

E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, aunque no como su padre y su madre; porque quitó las estatuas de Baal que su padre había hecho.

And he wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.

He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, but not like his father and like his mother, for he put away the pillar of Baal that his father had made.

aber an dem sündhaften Stierdienst Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, zu dem er Israel verführt hatte, hielt er fest und ließ nicht davon ab.

Mas allegóse á los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, que hizo pecar á Israel; y no se apartó de ellos.

Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.

Da Mesa, der König der Moabiter, Schafzüchter war, hatte er dem König von Israel hunderttausend Lämmer und die Wolle von hunderttausend Widdern als regelmäßige Abgabe zu entrichten.

Entonces Mesa rey de Moab era propietario de ganados, y pagaba al rey de Israel cien mil corderos y cien mil carneros con sus vellones.

And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool.

Aber nach Ahabs Tode fiel der König der Moabiter vom König von Israel ab.

Da zog der König Joram zu jener Zeit aus Samaria aus und bot ganz Israel zum Kriege auf;

Y salió entonces de Samaria el rey Joram, é inspeccionó á todo Israel.

gleichzeitig schickte er eine Gesandtschaft an den König Josaphat von Juda und ließ ihm sagen: »Der König der Moabiter ist von mir abgefallen: willst du nicht mit mir gegen die Moabiter zu Felde ziehen?« Er antwortete: »Ja, ich will mitziehen; ich will sein wie du: mein Volk wie dein Volk, meine Rosse wie deine Rosse!«

Y fué y envió á decir á Josaphat rey de Judá: El rey de Moab se ha rebelado contra mí: ¿irás tú conmigo á la guerra contra Moab? Y él respondió: Iré, porque como yo, así tú; como mi pueblo, así tu pueblo; como mis caballos, así también tus caballos.

And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses.

He went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, “The king of Moab has rebelled against me. Will you go with me against Moab to battle?” He said, “I will go up. I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”

Als er dann fragte: »Welchen Weg wollen wir einschlagen?«, erwiderte jener: »Den Weg durch die Steppe von Edom.«

Y dijo: ¿Por qué camino iremos? Y él respondió: Por el camino del desierto de Idumea.

And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.

Then he said, “Which way shall we go up?” Jehoram answered, “The way of the wilderness of Edom.”

So zog denn der König von Israel mit dem König von Juda und dem König der Edomiter aus. Als sie aber sieben Tagemärsche zur Umgehung zurückgelegt hatten, fehlte es dem Heere und dem Vieh, das mit ihnen zog, an Wasser.

Partieron pues el rey de Israel, y el rey de Judá, y el rey de Idumea; y como anduvieron rodeando por el desierto siete días de camino, faltóles el agua para el ejército, y para las bestias que los seguían.

So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days’ journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.

So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom, and they marched for seven days along a circuitous route. There was no water for the army or for the animals that followed them.

Da rief der König von Israel aus: »Wehe! So hat also der HERR diese drei Könige zum Kriege aufgeboten, um sie in die Hand der Moabiter fallen zu lassen!«

Entonces el rey de Israel dijo: ¡Ah! que ha llamado Jehová estos tres reyes para entregarlos en manos de los Moabitas.

And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!

Nun fragte Josaphat: »Ist denn hier kein Prophet des HERRN, durch den wir den HERRN befragen können?« Da antwortete einer von den Hofleuten des Königs von Israel: »Hier ist Elisa, der Sohn Saphats, der als Diener bei Elia gelebt hat.«

Mas Josaphat dijo: ¿No hay aquí profeta de Jehová, para que consultemos á Jehová por él? Y uno de los siervos del rey de Israel respondió y dijo: Aquí está Eliseo hijo de Saphat, que daba agua á manos á Elías.

But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there a prophet of the LORD here, that we may inquire of the LORD by him?” One of the king of Israel’s servants answered, “Elisha the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah, is here.”

Josaphat sagte: »Ja wirklich, bei dem ist das Wort des HERRN zu finden!« Als sich nun der König von Israel und Josaphat und der König der Edomiter zu ihm hinabbegeben hatten,

Y Josaphat dijo: Este tendrá palabra de Jehová. Y descendieron á él el rey de Israel, y Josaphat, y el rey de Idumea.

And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the LORD is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

sagte Elisa zum König von Israel: »Was habe ich mit dir zu schaffen? Wende dich doch an die Propheten deines Vaters und an die Propheten deiner Mutter!« Aber der König von Israel entgegnete ihm: »Nicht doch! Hat etwa der HERR diese drei Könige zum Krieg aufgeboten, um sie in die Hand der Moabiter fallen zu lassen?«

Entonces Eliseo dijo al rey de Israel: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo? Ve á los profetas de tu padre, y á los profetas de tu madre. Y el rey de Israel le respondió: No: porque ha juntado Jehová estos tres reyes para entregarlos en manos de los Moabitas.

And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.

Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father, and to the prophets of your mother.” The king of Israel said to him, “No, for the LORD has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”

Da sagte Elisa: »So wahr der HERR der Heerscharen lebt, in dessen Dienst ich stehe! Wenn ich nicht auf den König Josaphat von Juda Rücksicht nähme, so würde ich dich wahrlich nicht beachten und dich keines Blickes würdigen!

Y Eliseo dijo: Vive Jehová de los ejércitos, en cuya presencia estoy, que si no tuviese respeto al rostro de Josaphat rey de Judá, no mirara á ti, ni te viera.

And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.

Elisha said, “As the LORD of Armies lives, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I respect the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward you, nor see you.

Nun aber schafft mir einen Saitenspieler her!« Als dann der Saitenspieler die Saiten rührte, kam die Hand des HERRN über ihn,

Mas ahora traedme un tañedor. Y mientras el tañedor tocaba, la mano de Jehová fué sobre Eliseo.

But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.

But now bring me a musician.” When the musician played, the LORD’s hand came on him.

und er sagte: »So hat der HERR gesprochen: ›Macht in diesem Tal Grube an Grube!‹

Y dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Haced en este valle muchas acequias.

And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches.

He said, “The LORD says, ‘Make this valley full of trenches.’

Denn so hat der HERR gesprochen: ›Ihr werdet keinen Wind wahrnehmen und keinen Regen sehen, und doch wird sich dieses Tal mit Wasser füllen, so daß ihr samt eurem Heer und eurem Vieh trinken könnt.

Porque Jehová ha dicho así: No veréis viento, ni veréis lluvia, y este valle será lleno de agua, y beberéis vosotros, y vuestras bestias, y vuestros ganados.

For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.

For the LORD says, ‘You will not see wind, neither will you see rain, yet that valley will be filled with water, and you will drink, both you and your livestock and your other animals.

Aber dies genügt dem HERRN noch nicht: er wird euch auch noch die Moabiter in die Hände liefern,

Y esto es cosa ligera en los ojos de Jehová; dará también á los Moabitas en vuestras manos.

And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.

This is an easy thing in the LORD’s sight. He will also deliver the Moabites into your hand.

so daß ihr alle festen Städte erobern, alle Fruchtbäume fällen, alle Wasserquellen verschütten und alles gute Ackerland mit Steinen verderben werdet.‹«

Y vosotros heriréis á toda ciudad fortalecida y á toda villa hermosa, y talaréis todo buen árbol, y cegaréis todas las fuentes de aguas, y destruiréis con piedras toda tierra fértil.

And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.

You shall strike every fortified city and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all springs of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.’”

Und wirklich, am folgenden Morgen zu der Zeit, wo man das Speisopfer darbringt, kam plötzlich Wasser von Edom her geflossen, so daß die ganze Gegend überschwemmt wurde.

Y aconteció que por la mañana, cuando se ofrece el sacrificio, he aquí vinieron aguas por el camino de Idumea, y la tierra fué llena de aguas.

And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.

Als nun das ganze Volk der Moabiter hörte, daß die Könige herangezogen waren, um sie zu bekriegen, wurde alles, was die Waffen tragen konnte, aufgeboten, ja sogar die noch nicht Waffenfähigen, und sie stellten sich an der Grenze auf.

Y todos los de Moab, como oyeron que los reyes subían á pelear contra ellos, juntáronse desde todos los que ceñían talabarte arriba, y pusiéronse en la frontera.

And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the border.

Als aber am folgenden Morgen früh die Sonne beim Aufgang über das Wasser hin strahlte, erschien den Moabitern das Wasser drüben rot wie Blut,

so daß sie ausriefen: »Das ist Blut! Gewiß sind die Könige mit dem Schwert aneinandergeraten und haben ein Blutbad unter sich angerichtet: jetzt an die Beute, Moabiter!«

Y dijeron: ¡Sangre es esta de espada! Los reyes se han revuelto, y cada uno ha muerto á su compañero. Ahora pues, ¡Moab, á la presa!

And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil.

They said, “This is blood. The kings are surely destroyed, and they have struck each other. Now therefore, Moab, to the plunder!”

Als sie aber an das israelitische Lager herankamen, machten die Israeliten einen Ausfall und schlugen die Moabiter in die Flucht, drangen dann immer weiter ins Land ein und schlugen die Moabiter aufs neue.

Mas cuando llegaron al campo de Israel, levantáronse los Israelitas é hirieron á los de Moab, los cuales huyeron delante de ellos: siguieron empero hiriendo todavía á los de Moab.

And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward smiting the Moabites, even in their country.

Die Städte zerstörten sie, auf alles gute Ackerland warfen sie ein jeder seinen Stein, so daß es ganz damit bedeckt war, alle Wasserquellen verschütteten sie und hieben alle Fruchtbäume um, bis nichts mehr übrig war als (die Stadt) Kir-Hareseth mit ihrer festen Steinmauer. Als dann die Schleuderer die Stadt umzingelten und beschossen

Y asolaron las ciudades, y en todas las heredades fértiles echó cada uno su piedra, y las llenaron; cegaron también todas las fuentes de las aguas, y derribaron todos los buenos árboles; hasta que en Kir-hareseth solamente dejaron sus piedras; porque los honderos la cercaron, y la hirieron.

And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kir-haraseth left they the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.

und der König der Moabiter einsah, daß er dem Angriff nicht gewachsen sei, nahm er siebenhundert mit Schwertern bewaffnete Krieger mit sich, um sich zum König der Edomiter durchzuschlagen; aber es gelang ihnen nicht.

And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not.

Da nahm er seinen erstgeborenen Sohn, der ihm dereinst in der Regierung nachfolgen sollte, und brachte ihn auf der Mauer als Brandopfer dar. Da kam ein gewaltiger Zorn über Israel, so daß sie die Belagerung aufhoben und in ihr Land zurückkehrten.

Entonces arrebató á su primogénito que había de reinar en su lugar, y sacrificóle en holocausto sobre el muro. Y hubo grande enojo en Israel; y retiráronse de él, y volviéronse á su tierra.
