Eine Frau von den Ehefrauen der Prophetenjünger flehte einst Elisa laut mit den Worten an: »Mein Mann, dein Knecht, ist gestorben, und du weißt selbst, daß dein Knecht ein gottesfürchtiger Mann gewesen ist. Nun ist der Gläubiger gekommen und will sich meine beiden Söhne zu Sklaven nehmen!«

UNA mujer, de las mujeres de los hijos de los profetas, clamó á Eliseo, diciendo: Tu siervo mi marido es muerto; y tú sabes que tu siervo era temeroso de Jehová: y ha venido el acreedor para tomarse dos hijos míos por siervos.

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared the LORD. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves.”

Elisa antwortete ihr: »Was soll ich für dich tun? Sage mir, was du im Hause hast!« Sie erwiderte: »Deine Magd hat gar nichts mehr im Hause als nur einen Krug mit etwas Öl.«

Y Eliseo le dijo: ¿Qué te haré yo? Declárame qué tienes en casa. Y ella dijo: Tu sierva ninguna cosa tiene en casa, sino una botija de aceite.

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

Elisha said to her, “What should I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.”

Da sagte er: »Gehe hin, borge dir Gefäße von allen deinen Nachbarn draußen, leere Gefäße, aber nimm nicht zu wenige;

Y él le dijo: Ve, y pide para ti vasos prestados de todos tus vecinos, vasos vacíos, no pocos.

Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

Then he said, “Go, borrow empty containers from all your neighbors. Don’t borrow just a few containers.

hierauf gehe heim, schließe die Tür hinter dir und deinen beiden Söhnen zu und gieße in alle jene Gefäße ein; und wenn eins voll ist, so setze es beiseite.««

Entra luego, y cierra la puerta tras ti y tras tus hijos; y echa en todos los vasos, y en estando uno lleno, ponlo aparte.

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

Go in and shut the door on you and on your sons, and pour oil into all those containers; and set aside those which are full.”

Sie ging dann von ihm weg und schloß die Tür hinter sich und ihren Söhnen zu; diese reichten ihr (die Gefäße), und sie goß sie voll.

Y partióse la mujer de él, y cerró la puerta tras sí y tras sus hijos; y ellos le llegaban los vasos, y ella echaba del aceite.

So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

So she went from him, and shut the door on herself and on her sons. They brought the containers to her, and she poured oil.

Als nun die Gefäße gefüllt waren, sagte sie zu ihrem Sohn: »Reiche mir noch ein Gefäß!«, aber er antwortete ihr: »Es ist kein Gefäß mehr da«; da hörte das Öl auf zu fließen.

Y como los vasos fueron llenos, dijo á un hijo suyo: Tráeme aún otro vaso. Y él dijo: No hay más vasos. Entonces cesó el aceite.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

When the containers were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another container.” He said to her, “There isn’t another container.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

Als sie nun zu dem Gottesmann kam und es ihm berichtete, sagte er: »Gehe hin, verkaufe das Öl und bezahle deine Schuld; von dem, was dir dann noch übrigbleibt, kannst du mit deinen Söhnen leben.«

Vino ella luego, y contólo al varón de Dios, el cual dijo: Ve, y vende el aceite, y paga á tus acreedores; y tú y tus hijos vivid de lo que quedare.

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

Then she came and told the man of God. He said, “Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

Eines Tages ging Elisa nach Sunem hinüber; dort wohnte eine reiche Frau, die ihn nötigte, bei ihr zu essen. Sooft er nun später an dem Ort vorüberkam, kehrte er dort zum Essen ein.

Y aconteció también que un día pasaba Eliseo por Sunem; y había allí una mujer principal, la cual le constriñó á que comiese del pan: y cuando por allí pasaba, veníase á su casa á comer del pan.

And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

One day Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman; and she persuaded him to eat bread. So it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread.

Da sagte sie zu ihrem Manne: »Sieh doch, ich habe erkannt, daß dieser ein heiliger Gottesmann ist, der immer bei uns einkehrt;

Y ella dijo á su marido: He aquí ahora, yo entiendo que éste que siempre pasa por nuestra casa, es varón de Dios santo.

And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.

She said to her husband, “See now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God who passes by us continually.

wir wollen ihm doch ein kleines Zimmer oben im Hause aufmauern lassen und ihm ein Bett, einen Tisch, einen Stuhl und einen Leuchter hineinstellen; dann kann er dort ein Unterkommen finden, sooft er zu uns kommt.«

Yo te ruego que hagas una pequeña cámara de paredes, y pongamos en ella cama, y mesa, y silla, y candelero, para que cuando viniere á nosotros, se recoja en ella.

Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

Please, let’s make a little room on the roof. Let’s set a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp stand for him there. When he comes to us, he can stay there.”

Als er nun eines Tages wieder hinkam, kehrte er in dem Oberstübchen ein und schlief darin.

Y aconteció que un día vino él por allí, y recogióse en aquella cámara, y durmió en ella.

And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.

One day he came there, and he went to the room and lay there.

Nachher befahl er seinem Diener Gehasi: »Rufe mir unsere Sunamitin!« Als er sie nun gerufen hatte und sie vor ihn getreten war,

Entonces dijo á Giezi su criado: Llama á esta Sunamita. Y como él la llamó, pareció ella delante de él.

And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

He said to Gehazi his servant, “Call this Shunammite.” When he had called her, she stood before him.

sagte Elisa zu dem Diener: »Sage ihr: ›Du hast dir unsertwegen alle diese Unruhe gemacht: was kann man für dich tun? Brauchst du Fürsprache beim König oder Feldhauptmann?‹« Sie antwortete: »Ich wohne hier ja sicher inmitten meines Volkes.«

Y dijo él á Giezi: Dile: He aquí tú has estado solícita por nosotros con todo este esmero: ¿qué quieres que haga por ti? ¿has menester que hable por ti al rey, ó al general del ejército? Y ella respondió: Yo habito en medio de mi pueblo.

And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.

He said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?’” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”

Als er nun wieder fragte: »Was könnte man wohl für sie tun?«, antwortete Gehasi: »Ach, sie ist kinderlos, und ihr Mann ist schon alt.«

Y él dijo: ¿Qué pues haremos por ella? Y Giezi respondió: He aquí ella no tiene hijo, y su marido es viejo.

And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.

He said, “What then is to be done for her?” Gehazi answered, “Most certainly she has no son, and her husband is old.”

Darauf sagte Elisa: »Rufe sie her!« Als er sie nun gerufen hatte und sie in die Tür getreten war,

And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

He said, “Call her.” When he had called her, she stood in the door.

sagte er: »Übers Jahr um diese Zeit wirst du einen Sohn herzen!« Aber sie entgegnete: »Ach nein, mein Herr, du Mann Gottes: täusche doch deine Magd nicht!«

Y él le dijo: A este tiempo según el tiempo de la vida, abrazarás un hijo. Y ella dijo: No, señor mío, varón de Dios, no hagas burla de tu sierva.

And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

He said, “At this season next year, you will embrace a son.” She said, “No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

Die Frau aber wurde wirklich guter Hoffnung und gebar um dieselbe Zeit im nächsten Jahre einen Sohn, wie Elisa ihr verheißen hatte.

Mas la mujer concibió, y parió un hijo á aquel tiempo que Eliseo le había dicho, según el tiempo de la vida.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

The woman conceived, and bore a son at that season when the time came around, as Elisha had said to her.

Als nun der Knabe herangewachsen war, begab es sich eines Tages, daß er zu seinem Vater zu den Schnittern hinausging.

Y como el niño fué grande, aconteció que un día salió á su padre, á los segadores.

And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

When the child was grown, one day he went out to his father to the reapers.

Da klagte er (plötzlich) seinem Vater: »Mein Kopf, mein Kopf!« Jener befahl einem Knecht: »Trage ihn heim zu seiner Mutter!«

Y dijo á su padre: ¡Mi cabeza, mi cabeza! Y él dijo á un criado: Llévalo á su madre.

And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.

He said to his father, “My head! My head!” He said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.”

Als dieser ihn auf den Arm genommen und zu seiner Mutter gebracht hatte, saß er bis zum Mittag auf ihrem Schoß; dann starb er.

Y habiéndole él tomado, y traídolo á su madre, estuvo sentado sobre sus rodillas hasta medio día, y murióse.

And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

When he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees until noon, and then died.

Da stieg sie hinauf, legte ihn auf das Bett des Gottesmannes, schloß hinter ihm zu und ging hinaus;

Ella entonces subió, y púsolo sobre la cama del varón de Dios, y cerrándole la puerta, salióse.

And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

She went up and laid him on the man of God’s bed, and shut the door on him, and went out.

dann ließ sie ihren Mann rufen und sagte zu ihm: »Schicke mir doch einen von den Knechten und eine Eselin; ich will zu dem Gottesmann eilen, komme aber schnell wieder zurück.«

Llamando luego á su marido, díjole: Ruégote que envíes conmigo á alguno de los criados y una de las asnas, para que yo vaya corriendo al varón de Dios, y vuelva.

And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.

She called to her husband and said, “Please send me one of the servants, and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come again.”

Er entgegnete: »Warum willst du gerade heute zu ihm gehen? Es ist doch weder Neumond noch Sabbat!« Doch sie erwiderte: »Das schadet nichts.«

Y él dijo: ¿Para qué has de ir á él hoy? No es nueva luna, ni sábado. Y ella respondió: Paz.

And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.

He said, “Why would you want to go to him today? It is not a new moon or a Sabbath.” She said, “It’s all right.”

Hierauf ließ sie die Eselin satteln und befahl ihrem Knecht: »Treibe das Tier immerfort an und mache mir keinen Aufenthalt beim Reiten, es sei denn, daß ich es dir sage!«

Después hizo enalbardar una borrica, y dijo al mozo: Guía y anda; y no me hagas detener para que suba, sino cuando yo te lo dijere.

Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.

Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, “Drive, and go forward! Don’t slow down for me, unless I ask you to.”

So machte sie sich auf den Weg und gelangte zu dem Gottesmann auf den Berg Karmel. Als nun der Gottesmann sie in einiger Entfernung erblickte, sagte er zu seinem Diener Gehasi: »Da ist ja unsere Sunamitin!

Partióse pues, y vino al varón de Dios al monte del Carmelo. Y cuando el varón de Dios la vió de lejos, dijo á su criado Giezi: He aquí la Sunamita:

So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:

So she went, and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her afar off, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Behold, there is the Shunammite.

Wohlan, laufe ihr entgegen und frage sie, ob es ihr sowie ihrem Mann und dem Knaben gutgehe.« Sie antwortete: »Ja.«

Ruégote que vayas ahora corriendo á recibirla, y dile: ¿Tienes paz? ¿y tu marido, y tu hijo? Y ella dijo: Paz.

Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.

Please run now to meet her, and ask her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with your child?’” She answered, “It is well.”

Als sie aber zu dem Gottesmann auf den Berg gekommen war, umfaßte sie seine Füße; da trat Gehasi hinzu, um sie wegzustoßen; aber der Gottesmann sagte: »Laß sie! Denn sie ist tief betrübt, und Gott hat es mir verborgen und mir’s nicht geoffenbart.«

Y luego que llegó al varón de Dios en el monte, asió de sus pies. Y llegóse Giezi para quitarla; mas el varón de Dios le dijo: Déjala, porque su alma está en amargura, y Jehová me ha encubierto el motivo, y no me lo ha revelado.

And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.

When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, “Leave her alone, for her soul is troubled within her; and the LORD has hidden it from me, and has not told me.”

Sie sagte dann: »Bin ich es gewesen, die meinen Herrn um einen Sohn gebeten hat? Habe ich nicht vielmehr gesagt, du möchtest mich nicht täuschen?«

Y ella dijo: ¿Pedí yo hijo á mi señor? ¿No dije yo, que no me burlases?

Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

Then she said, “Did I ask you for a son, my lord? Didn’t I say, ‘Do not deceive me’?”

Da befahl er Gehasi: »Gürte dir die Lenden, nimm meinen Stab in deine Hand und gehe hin! Wenn du jemand triffst, so grüße ihn nicht, und wenn dich jemand grüßt, so danke ihm nicht! Lege dann dem Knaben meinen Stab auf das Gesicht!«

Entonces dijo él á Giezi: Ciñe tus lomos, y toma mi bordón en tu mano, y ve; y si alguno te encontrare, no lo saludes; y si alguno te saludare, no le respondas: y pondrás mi bordón sobre el rostro del niño.

Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

Then he said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don’t greet him; and if anyone greets you, don’t answer him again. Then lay my staff on the child’s face.”

Aber die Mutter des Knaben rief: »So wahr der HERR lebt und so wahr du selbst lebst: ich lasse nicht von dir!« Da machte er sich auf und folgte ihr.

Y dijo la madre del niño: Vive Jehová, y vive tu alma, que no te dejaré.

And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

The child’s mother said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So he arose, and followed her.

Gehasi war ihnen unterdessen vorausgeeilt und hatte dem Knaben den Stab auf das Gesicht gelegt, aber kein Laut und kein Lebenszeichen war erfolgt. Da kehrte er um, (seinem Herrn) entgegen, und berichtete ihm, der Knabe sei nicht aufgewacht;

El entonces se levantó, y siguióla. Y Giezi había ido delante de ellos, y había puesto el bordón sobre el rostro del niño, mas ni tenía voz ni sentido; y así se había vuelto para encontrar á Eliseo; y declaróselo, diciendo: El mozo no despierta.

And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

Gehazi went ahead of them, and laid the staff on the child’s face; but there was no voice and no hearing. Therefore he returned to meet him, and told him, “The child has not awakened.”

und als Elisa dann in das Haus kam, fand er den Knaben tot auf seinem eigenen Bette liegen.

Y venido Eliseo á la casa, he aquí el niño que estaba tendido muerto sobre su cama.

And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.

When Elisha had come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and lying on his bed.

Nun ging er hinein, schloß die Tür hinter sich zu und betete zum HERRN;

Entrando él entonces, cerró la puerta sobre ambos, y oró á Jehová.

He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.

He went in therefore, and shut the door on them both, and prayed to the LORD.

dann stieg er auf das Bett, streckte sich über den Knaben hin und legte seinen Mund auf dessen Mund, seine Augen auf dessen Augen und seine Hände auf die Hände jenes. Als er sich so über ihn hinstreckte, erwärmte sich der Leib des Knaben.

Después subió, y echóse sobre el niño, poniendo su boca sobre la boca de él, y sus ojos sobre sus ojos, y sus manos sobre las manos suyas; así se tendió sobre él, y calentóse la carne del joven.

And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

He went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. He stretched himself on him; and the child’s flesh grew warm.

Dann stand er wieder auf und ging im Zimmer hin und her, stieg dann wieder hinauf und streckte sich über ihn hin. Da nieste der Knabe siebenmal und schlug die Augen hell auf.

Volviéndose luego, paseóse por la casa á una parte y á otra, y después subió, y tendióse sobre él; y el joven estornudó siete veces, y abrió sus ojos.

Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

Then he returned, and walked in the house once back and forth, then went up and stretched himself out on him. Then the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

Nun rief er Gehasi und befahl ihm: »Rufe unsere Sunamitin!« Der rief sie herbei, und als sie zu ihm hereinkam, sagte er: »Nimm da deinen Sohn!«

Entonces llamó él á Giezi, y díjole: Llama á esta Sunamita. Y él la llamó. Y entrando ella, él le dijo: Toma tu hijo.

And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

He called Gehazi, and said, “Call this Shunammite!” So he called her. When she had come in to him, he said, “Take up your son.”

Da trat sie heran, fiel ihm zu Füßen, verneigte sich tief bis zur Erde, nahm ihren Sohn auf den Arm und ging hinaus.

Y así que ella entró, echóse á sus pies, é inclinóse á tierra: después tomó su hijo, y salióse.

Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

Elisa kehrte dann nach Gilgal zurück, während eine Hungersnot im Lande herrschte. Als nun die Prophetenjünger vor ihm saßen, gab er seinem Diener den Auftrag, den größten Kochtopf aufs Feuer zu setzen und ein Gericht für die Prophetenjünger zu kochen.

Y Eliseo se volvió á Gilgal. Había entonces grande hambre en la tierra. Y los hijos de los profetas estaban con él, por lo que dijo á su criado: Pon una grande olla, y haz potaje para los hijos de los profetas.

And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.

Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Get the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”

Da ging einer von ihnen auf das Feld hinaus, um Kräuter zu sammeln, und als er ein wildes Schlinggewächs fand, pflückte er davon wilde Gurken ab, seinen ganzen Mantel voll; dann kehrte er heim und zerschnitt sie in den Kochtopf; denn er kannte sie nicht.

Y salió uno al campo á coger hierbas, y halló una como parra montés, y cogió de ella una faldada de calabazas silvestres: y volvió, y cortólas en la olla del potaje: porque no sabía lo que era.

And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.

Als man sie dann zum Essen für die Männer ausgeschüttet hatte und diese von dem Gericht aßen, schrien sie laut auf und riefen: »Der Tod ist im Topf, Mann Gottes!«, und sie konnten es nicht essen.

Echóse después para que comieran los hombres; pero sucedió que comiendo ellos de aquel guisado, dieron voces, diciendo: ¡Varón de Dios, la muerte en la olla! Y no lo pudieron comer.

So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

So they poured out for the men to eat. As they were eating some of the stew, they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.

Da sagte er: »So bringt Mehl her!« Er warf es in den Topf und sagte dann: »Fülle es jetzt für die Leute aus, damit sie es essen.« Da war nichts Schädliches mehr im Topf.

El entonces dijo: Traed harina. Y esparcióla en la olla, y dijo: Echa de comer á la gente. Y no hubo más mal en la olla.

But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

But he said, “Then bring meal.” He threw it into the pot; and he said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.

Hierauf kam ein Mann aus Baal-Salisa und brachte dem Gottesmann Erstlingsbrote, nämlich zwanzig Gerstenbrote, dazu Schrotkorn in seinem Sack. Da befahl er: »Gib es den Leuten zu essen!«

Vino entonces un hombre de Baal-salisa, el cual trajo al varón de Dios panes de primicias, veinte panes de cebada, y trigo nuevo en su espiga. Y él dijo: Da á la gente para que coman.

And there came a man from Baal-shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.

A man from Baal Shalishah came, and brought the man of God some bread of the first fruits: twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. Elisha said, “Give to the people, that they may eat.”

Sein Diener aber entgegnete: »Wie kann ich dies hundert Männern vorsetzen?« Doch er befahl: »Gib es den Leuten zu essen! Denn so hat der HERR gesprochen: ›Man wird essen und noch übriglassen‹«.

Y respondió su sirviente: ¿Cómo he de poner esto delante de cien hombres? Mas él tornó á decir: Da á la gente para que coman, porque así ha dicho Jehová: Comerán, y sobrará.

And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.

His servant said, “What, should I set this before a hundred men?” But he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for the LORD says, ‘They will eat, and will have some left over.’”

Als er es ihnen nun vorsetzte, aßen sie und ließen noch davon übrig, wie der HERR es verheißen hatte.

Entonces él lo puso delante de ellos, y comieron, y sobróles, conforme á la palabra de Jehová.

So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.

So he set it before them and they ate and had some left over, according to the LORD’s word.
