Una mujer de las mujeres de los hijos de los profetas clamó a Eliseo, diciendo: Tu siervo mi marido es muerto: y tú sabes que tu siervo era temeroso de Jehová: y ha venido el acreedor para tomarse dos hijos míos por siervos.

UNA mujer, de las mujeres de los hijos de los profetas, clamó á Eliseo, diciendo: Tu siervo mi marido es muerto; y tú sabes que tu siervo era temeroso de Jehová: y ha venido el acreedor para tomarse dos hijos míos por siervos.

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared the LORD. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves.”

Y Eliseo le dijo: ¿Qué te haré yo? declárame que tienes en casa. Y ella dijo: Tu sierva ninguna cosa tiene en casa, sino una botija de aceite.

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

Elisha said to her, “What should I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.”

Y él le dijo: Vé, y demándate vasos emprestados de todos tus vecinos, vasos vacíos, no pocos.

Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

Then he said, “Go, borrow empty containers from all your neighbors. Don’t borrow just a few containers.

Y entra y cierra la puerta tras ti, y tras tus hijos: y echa en todos los vasos, y en estando uno lleno, pónlo a parte.

Entra luego, y cierra la puerta tras ti y tras tus hijos; y echa en todos los vasos, y en estando uno lleno, ponlo aparte.

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

Go in and shut the door on you and on your sons, and pour oil into all those containers; and set aside those which are full.”

Y partió la mujer de él, y cerró la puerta tras sí y tras sus hijos, y ellos le llegaban los vasos, y ella echaba del aceite.

So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

So she went from him, and shut the door on herself and on her sons. They brought the containers to her, and she poured oil.

Y como los vasos fueron llenos, dijo a su hijo: Llégame aun otro vaso. Y él dijo: No hay más vasos. Entonces el aceite cesó.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

When the containers were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another container.” He said to her, “There isn’t another container.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

Y ella vino, y díjolo al varón de Dios; el cual le dijo: Vé, y vende este aceite, y paga a tus acreedores: y tú y tus hijos vivíd de lo que quedare.

Vino ella luego, y contólo al varón de Dios, el cual dijo: Ve, y vende el aceite, y paga á tus acreedores; y tú y tus hijos vivid de lo que quedare.

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

Then she came and told the man of God. He said, “Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

¶ Aconteció también, que un día Eliseo pasaba por Suna: y había allí una mujer principal, la cual le constriñó a que comiese del pan: y así cuando pasaba por allí, veníase a su casa a comer del pan.

Y aconteció también que un día pasaba Eliseo por Sunem; y había allí una mujer principal, la cual le constriñó á que comiese del pan: y cuando por allí pasaba, veníase á su casa á comer del pan.

And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

One day Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman; and she persuaded him to eat bread. So it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread.

Y ella dijo a su marido: He aquí, ahora yo entiendo que este, que siempre pasa por nuestra casa, es varón de Dios santo.

And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.

Yo te ruego que hagamos una pequeña cámara de paredes, y pongamos en ella cama, y mesa, y silla, y candelero, para que cuando viniere a nuestra casa, se recoja en ella.

Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

Please, let’s make a little room on the roof. Let’s set a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp stand for him there. When he comes to us, he can stay there.”

Y aconteció, que un día él vino por allí, y recogióse en aquella cámara, y durmió en ella.

And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.

And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

Y él le dijo: Díle: He aquí, tú has estado solícita por nosotros en todo este cuidado: ¿qué quieres que haga por ti? ¿Has menester que hable por ti al rey, o al general del ejército? Y ella respondió: Yo habito en medio de mi pueblo.

Y dijo él á Giezi: Dile: He aquí tú has estado solícita por nosotros con todo este esmero: ¿qué quieres que haga por ti? ¿has menester que hable por ti al rey, ó al general del ejército? Y ella respondió: Yo habito en medio de mi pueblo.

And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.

He said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?’” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”

Y él dijo: ¿Qué pues haremos por ella? Y Giezi respondió: He aquí ella no tiene hijo, y su marido es viejo.

And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.

He said, “What then is to be done for her?” Gehazi answered, “Most certainly she has no son, and her husband is old.”

Y él dijo: Llámala: y él la llamó: y ella se paró a la puerta.

And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

Y él le dijo: A este tiempo según el tiempo de la vida, abrazarás un hijo. Y ella dijo: No señor mío, varón de Dios, no hagas burla de tu sierva.

And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

He said, “At this season next year, you will embrace a son.” She said, “No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

Y la mujer concibió, y parió un hijo a aquel mismo tiempo que Eliseo le había dicho, según el tiempo de la vida.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

Y como el niño fue grande aconteció, que un día salió a su padre a los segadores.

And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

Y dijo a su padre: Mi cabeza, mi cabeza. Y él dijo a un criado: Llévale a su madre.

And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.

He said to his father, “My head! My head!” He said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.”

Y como él le tomó, y le trajo a su madre, estuvo sentado sobre sus rodillas hasta mediodía, y murióse.

Y habiéndole él tomado, y traídolo á su madre, estuvo sentado sobre sus rodillas hasta medio día, y murióse.

And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

Ella entonces subió, y púsole sobre la cama del varón de Dios: y cerró la puerta sobre él, y salió:

And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

Y llamando a su marido, díjole: Ruégote que envíes conmigo a alguno de los criados, y una de las asnas, para que yo vaya corriendo al varón de Dios, y vuelva.

And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.

She called to her husband and said, “Please send me one of the servants, and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come again.”

Y él dijo: ¿Para qué has de ir a él hoy? no es nueva luna ni sábado. Y ella respondió: Paz.

And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.

He said, “Why would you want to go to him today? It is not a new moon or a Sabbath.” She said, “It’s all right.”

E hizo enalbardar un asna, y dijo al mozo: Guia y anda, y no me hagas detener para que suba, sino cuando yo te lo dijere.

Después hizo enalbardar una borrica, y dijo al mozo: Guía y anda; y no me hagas detener para que suba, sino cuando yo te lo dijere.

Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.

Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, “Drive, and go forward! Don’t slow down for me, unless I ask you to.”

Y partiéndose vino al varón de Dios al monte del Carmelo, y cuando el varón de Dios la vio de lejos, dijo a su criado Giezi: He allí la Sunamita.

Partióse pues, y vino al varón de Dios al monte del Carmelo. Y cuando el varón de Dios la vió de lejos, dijo á su criado Giezi: He aquí la Sunamita:

So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:

So she went, and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her afar off, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Behold, there is the Shunammite.

Yo te ruego que vayas ahora corriendo a recibirla, y díle: ¿Tienes paz, y tu marido, y tu hijo? Y ella dijo: Paz.

Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.

Please run now to meet her, and ask her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with your child?’” She answered, “It is well.”

Y ella vino al varón de Dios en el monte, y asió de sus pies, y llegó Giezi para quitarla: mas el varón de Dios le dijo: Déjala; porque su alma está en amargura, y Jehová me lo ha encubierto, y no me lo ha revelado.

Y luego que llegó al varón de Dios en el monte, asió de sus pies. Y llegóse Giezi para quitarla; mas el varón de Dios le dijo: Déjala, porque su alma está en amargura, y Jehová me ha encubierto el motivo, y no me lo ha revelado.

And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.

When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, “Leave her alone, for her soul is troubled within her; and the LORD has hidden it from me, and has not told me.”

Y ella dijo: ¿Pedí yo hijo a mi señor? ¿No dije yo, que no burlases de mi?

Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

Then she said, “Did I ask you for a son, my lord? Didn’t I say, ‘Do not deceive me’?”

Entonces él dijo a Giezi: Ciñe tus lomos, y toma mi bordón en tu mano, y vé, y si alguno te encontrare, no le saludes, y si alguno te saludare, no le respondas. Y pondrás mi bordón sobre el rostro del niño.

Entonces dijo él á Giezi: Ciñe tus lomos, y toma mi bordón en tu mano, y ve; y si alguno te encontrare, no lo saludes; y si alguno te saludare, no le respondas: y pondrás mi bordón sobre el rostro del niño.

Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

Then he said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don’t greet him; and if anyone greets you, don’t answer him again. Then lay my staff on the child’s face.”

Entonces dijo la madre del niño: Vive Jehová, y vive tu alma, que no te dejaré.

And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

The child’s mother said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So he arose, and followed her.

Él entonces se levantó, y siguióla. Y Giezi había ido delante de ellos, y había puesto el bordón sobre el rostro del niño, mas ni tenía voz ni sentido, y así se había vuelto para encontrar a Eliseo, y declaróselo, diciendo: El mozo no despierta.

And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

Gehazi went ahead of them, and laid the staff on the child’s face; but there was no voice and no hearing. Therefore he returned to meet him, and told him, “The child has not awakened.”

Y venido Eliseo a la casa, he aquí el niño que estaba tendido muerto sobre su cama.

And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.

And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

He went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. He stretched himself on him; and the child’s flesh grew warm.

Y volviendo paseóse por casa a una parte y a otra, y después subió, y tendióse sobre él, y el mozo estornudó siete veces, y abrió sus ojos.

Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

Entonces él llamó a Giezi, y díjole: Llama a esta Sunamita. Y él la llamó: y entrando ella, él le dijo: Toma tu hijo.

And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

Y ella entró, y echóse a sus pies, e inclinóse a tierra, y tomó su hijo, y se salió.

Y así que ella entró, echóse á sus pies, é inclinóse á tierra: después tomó su hijo, y salióse.

Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

¶ Y volvióse Eliseo a Gálgala. Y hubo grande hambre en la tierra. Entonces los hijos de los profetas estaban con él: y dijo a su criado: Pon una grande olla, y haz potaje para los hijos de los profetas.

And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.

Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Get the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”

Y salió uno al campo a coger yerbas: y halló una parra montés, y cogió de ella uvas monteses su ropa llena: y volvió, y cortólas en la olla del potaje: porque no sabían lo que era.

And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.

Y echó de comer a los varones: y fue que comiendo ellos de aquel guisado, dieron voces, diciendo: Varón de Dios, la muerte en la olla. Y no lo pudieron comer.

Echóse después para que comieran los hombres; pero sucedió que comiendo ellos de aquel guisado, dieron voces, diciendo: ¡Varón de Dios, la muerte en la olla! Y no lo pudieron comer.

So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

So they poured out for the men to eat. As they were eating some of the stew, they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.

But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

¶ Ítem, un varón vino de Baal-salisa, el cual trajo al varón de Dios, panes de primicias, veinte panes de cebada, y espigas de trigo nuevo en su espiga. Y él dijo: Da al pueblo, y coman.

Vino entonces un hombre de Baal-salisa, el cual trajo al varón de Dios panes de primicias, veinte panes de cebada, y trigo nuevo en su espiga. Y él dijo: Da á la gente para que coman.

And there came a man from Baal-shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.

A man from Baal Shalishah came, and brought the man of God some bread of the first fruits: twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. Elisha said, “Give to the people, that they may eat.”

Y respondió el que le servía: ¿Cómo pondré esto delante de cien varones? Y él tornó a decir: Da al pueblo, y coman: porque Jehová dijo así: Comerán, y sobrará.

Y respondió su sirviente: ¿Cómo he de poner esto delante de cien hombres? Mas él tornó á decir: Da á la gente para que coman, porque así ha dicho Jehová: Comerán, y sobrará.

And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.

His servant said, “What, should I set this before a hundred men?” But he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for the LORD says, ‘They will eat, and will have some left over.’”

Entonces él lo puso delante de ellos: y comieron, y sobróles conforme a la palabra de Jehová.

So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.
