Naeman, der Feldhauptmann des Königs von Syrien, galt bei seinem Herrn viel und stand in hohem Ansehen; denn durch ihn hatte Gott der HERR den Syrern den Sieg verliehen; aber dieser Mann, ein großer Kriegsheld, wurde aussätzig.

NAAMÁN, general del ejército del rey de Siria, era gran varón delante de su señor, y en alta estima, porque por medio de él había dado Jehová salvamento á la Siria. Era este hombre valeroso en extremo, pero leproso.

Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.

Nun hatten die Syrer einst auf einem Streifzuge ein junges Mädchen aus dem Lande Israel gefangen weggeführt; die war dann bei Naemans Gattin Dienerin geworden

Y de Siria habían salido cuadrillas, y habían llevado cautiva de la tierra de Israel una muchacha; la cual sirviendo á la mujer de Naamán,

And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.

und sagte (eines Tages) zu ihrer Herrin: »Ach wenn mein Herr sich doch an den Propheten zu Samaria wendete! Dann würde der ihn von seinem Aussatz befreien.«

Dijo á su señora: Si rogase mi señor al profeta que está en Samaria, él lo sanaría de su lepra.

And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

She said to her mistress, “I wish that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would heal him of his leprosy.”

Da ging Naeman zu seinem Herrn und teilte ihm mit: »So und so hat das Mädchen berichtet, das aus dem Lande Israel stammt.«

Y entrando Naamán á su señor, declaróselo, diciendo: Así y así ha dicho una muchacha que es de la tierra de Israel.

And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.

Someone went in and told his lord, saying, “The girl who is from the land of Israel said this.”

Darauf entgegnete der König von Syrien: »Nun gut, ziehe hin! Ich will dir ein Schreiben an den König von Israel mitgeben.« Da machte er sich auf den Weg, nahm zehn Talente Silber, sechstausend Schekel Gold und zehn Festgewänder mit

Y díjole el rey de Siria: Anda, ve, y yo enviaré letras al rey de Israel. Partió pues él, llevando consigo diez talentos de plata, y seis mil piezas de oro, y diez mudas de vestidos.

And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

The king of Syria said, “Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.” He departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of clothing.

und überreichte dem König von Israel das Schreiben, das so lautete: »Wenn dieses Schreiben an dich gelangt, so wisse: ich habe meinen Diener Naeman zu dir gesandt, damit du ihn von seinem Aussatz befreist.«

Tomó también letras para el rey de Israel, que decían así: Luego en llegando á ti estas letras, sabe por ellas que yo envío á ti mi siervo Naamán, para que lo sanes de su lepra.

And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.

He brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, “Now when this letter has come to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.”

Als der König von Israel das Schreiben gelesen hatte, zerriß er seine Kleider und rief aus: »Bin ich etwa ein Gott, daß ich töten und lebendig machen kann?! Dieser verlangt ja von mir, daß ich einen Menschen von seinem Aussatz befreie! Da seht ihr nun deutlich, daß er nur einen Vorwand zum Streit mit mir sucht!«

Y luego que el rey de Israel leyó las cartas, rasgó sus vestidos, y dijo: ¿Soy yo Dios, que mate y dé vida, para que éste envíe á mí á que sane un hombre de su lepra? Considerad ahora, y ved cómo busca ocasión contra mí.

And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.

When the king of Israel had read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? But please consider and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.”

Als nun der Gottesmann Elisa erfuhr, daß der König von Israel seine Kleider zerrissen habe, sandte er zum König und ließ ihm sagen: »Warum hast du deine Kleider zerrissen? Laß ihn doch zu mir kommen: er soll erfahren, daß es wirklich noch einen Propheten in Israel gibt!«

Y como Eliseo, varón de Dios oyó que el rey de Israel había rasgado sus vestidos, envió á decir al rey: ¿Por qué has rasgado tus vestidos? Venga ahora á mí, y sabrá que hay profeta en Israel.

And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

It was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

So kam denn Naeman mit seinen Rossen und seinem Wagen und hielt bei Elisa vor der Haustür an.

Y vino Naamán con sus caballos y con su carro, y paróse á las puertas de la casa de Eliseo.

Da ließ ihm Elisa durch einen Boten sagen: »Gehe hin und bade dich siebenmal im Jordan, dann wird dir dein Leib wieder gesund werden, und du wirst rein sein.«

Entonces Eliseo le envió un mensajero, diciendo: Ve, y lávate siete veces en el Jordán, y tu carne se te restaurará, y serás limpio.

And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

Darüber wurde Naeman unwillig und fuhr auf seinem Wagen weg mit den Worten: »Ich hatte als sicher angenommen, er würde selbst zu mir herauskommen und vor mich hintreten und den Namen des HERRN, seines Gottes, anrufen und seine Hand nach der heiligen Stätte hin schwingen und so den Aussatz wegschaffen.

Y Naamán se fué enojado, diciendo: He aquí yo decía para mí: Saldrá él luego, y estando en pie invocará el nombre de Jehová su Dios, y alzará su mano, y tocará el lugar, y sanará la lepra.

But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

But Naaman was angry, and went away and said, “Behold, I thought, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leper.’

Sind nicht der Amana und der Pharphar, die Flüsse von Damaskus, besser als alle Wasser in Israel? Kann ich mich nicht in ihnen baden, um rein zu werden?« Damit wandte er sich um und entfernte sich voller Zorn.

Abana y Pharphar, ríos de Damasco, ¿no son mejores que todas las aguas de Israel? Si me lavare en ellos, ¿no seré también limpio? Y volvióse, y fuése enojado.

Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

Da traten seine Diener an ihn heran und redeten ihm mit den Worten zu: »Mein Vater, wenn der Prophet etwas Schwieriges von dir verlangt hätte, so hättest du es sicherlich getan; wieviel mehr also jetzt, da er nur zu dir gesagt hat: ›Bade dich, so wirst du rein sein!‹«

Mas sus criados se llegaron á él, y habláronle, diciendo: Padre mío, si el profeta te mandara alguna gran cosa, ¿no la hicieras? ¿cuánto más, diciéndote: Lávate, y serás limpio?

And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

His servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had asked you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?”

Als er sich nun an den Jordan hatte hinabfahren lassen und sich nach der Weisung des Gottesmannes siebenmal darin untergetaucht hatte, wurde sein Leib wieder so rein wie der Leib eines kleinen Kindes.

El entonces descendió, y zambullóse siete veces en el Jordán, conforme á la palabra del varón de Dios: y su carne se volvió como la carne de un niño, y fué limpio.

Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

Er kehrte nun mit seinem ganzen Gefolge zu dem Gottesmann zurück, trat nach seiner Ankunft vor ihn hin und sagte: »Wisse wohl: jetzt habe ich erkannt, daß es auf der ganzen Erde keinen Gott gibt als nur in Israel. Nimm nun doch ein Geschenk von deinem Diener an!«

Y volvió al varón de Dios, él y toda su compañía, y púsose delante de él, y dijo: He aquí ahora conozco que no hay Dios en toda la tierra, sino en Israel. Ruégote que recibas algún presente de tu siervo.

And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant.

Doch Elisa entgegnete: »So wahr der HERR lebt, in dessen Dienst ich stehe: ich nehme nichts an!« Und wie er ihn auch zur Annahme drängte, er blieb doch bei seiner Weigerung.

But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.

Da sagte Naeman: »Wenn denn nicht, so möge doch deinem Diener wenigstens eine Last Erde, soviel ein Paar Maultiere tragen können, mitgegeben werden; denn dein Diener wird fortan keinem andern Gott Brand- und Schlachtopfer darbringen als dem HERRN allein.

Entonces Naamán dijo: Ruégote pues, ¿no se dará á tu siervo una carga de un par de acémilas de aquesta tierra? porque de aquí adelante tu siervo no sacrificará holocausto ni sacrificio á otros dioses, sino á Jehová.

And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules’ burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.

Naaman said, “If not, then, please let two mules’ load of earth be given to your servant; for your servant will from now on offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to the LORD.

Nur in diesem einen Stück wolle der HERR mit deinem Diener Nachsicht haben: Wenn mein königlicher Herr in den Tempel Rimmons geht, um daselbst anzubeten, und sich dabei auf meinen Arm stützt und sich im Tempel Rimmons niederwirft und ich mich dann ebenfalls im Tempel Rimmons niederwerfe, so möge Gott der HERR in diesem einen Fall deinem Diener Verzeihung zuteil werden lassen!«

En esto perdone Jehová á tu siervo: que cuando mi señor entrare en el templo de Rimmón, y para adorar en él se apoyare sobre mi mano, si yo también me inclinare en el templo de Rimmón, si en el templo de Rimmón me inclino, Jehová perdone en esto á tu siervo.

In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing.

In this thing may the LORD pardon your servant: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon. When I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, may the LORD pardon your servant in this thing.”

Er erwiderte ihm: »Ziehe hin in Frieden!«

Y él le dijo: Vete en paz. Partióse pues de él, y caminó como el espacio de una milla.

And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.

Als (Naeman) aber eine Strecke Weges von ihm weggezogen war, dachte Gehasi, der Diener des Gottesmannes Elisa: »Da hat nun mein Herr wahrhaftig diesen Syrer Naeman geschont, statt etwas von dem anzunehmen, was jener mitgebracht hatte! So wahr der HERR lebt: ich laufe hinter ihm her und lasse mir etwas von ihm geben!«

Entonces Giezi, criado de Eliseo el varón de Dios, dijo entre sí: He aquí mi señor estorbó á este Siro Naamán, no tomando de su mano las cosas que había traído. Vive Jehová, que correré yo tras él, y tomaré de él alguna cosa.

But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.

But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought. As the LORD lives, I will run after him, and take something from him.”

So eilte denn Gehasi dem Naeman nach. Als dieser nun sah, daß einer hinter ihm herlief, sprang er vom Wagen herab, ging ihm entgegen und fragte: »Geht es dir wohl?«

Y siguió Giezi á Naamán: y como le vió Naamán que venía corriendo tras él, apeóse del carro para recibirle, y dijo: ¿Va bien?

So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well?

Er antwortete: »Ja! Mein Herr schickt mich und läßt dir sagen: ›Jetzt eben sind vom Gebirge Ephraim zwei junge Leute von den Prophetenjüngern zu mir gekommen; gib mir doch für sie ein Talent Silber und zwei Festkleider!‹«

Y él dijo: Bien. Mi señor me envía á decir: He aquí vinieron á mí en esta hora del monte de Ephraim dos mancebos de los hijos de los profetas: ruégote que les des un talento de plata, y sendas mudas de vestidos.

And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.

He said, “All is well. My master has sent me, saying, ‘Behold, even now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothing.’”

Naeman erwiderte: »Tu mir den Gefallen und nimm zwei Talente!« Er bat ihn dann dringend und ließ zwei Talente Silber in zwei Beutel schnüren, tat dazu zwei Festkleider und ließ sie durch zwei seiner Diener vor ihm her tragen.

Y Naamán dijo: Ruégote que tomes dos talentos. Y él le constriñó, y ató dos talentos de plata en dos sacos, y dos mudas de vestidos, y púsolo á cuestas á dos de sus criados, que lo llevasen delante de él.

And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him.

Naaman said, “Be pleased to take two talents.” He urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and laid them on two of his servants; and they carried them before him.

Als er aber bei dem Hügel ankam, nahm er sie ihnen ab, brachte sie im Hause unter und entließ dann die Leute, die nun zurückkehrten.

Y llegado que hubo á un lugar secreto, él lo tomó de mano de ellos, y guardólo en casa: luego mandó á los hombres que se fuesen.

And when he came to the tower, he took them from their hand, and bestowed them in the house: and he let the men go, and they departed.

When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand, and stored them in the house. Then he let the men go, and they departed.

Als er aber hineingegangen und vor seinen Herrn getreten war, fragte ihn Elisa: »Woher kommst du, Gehasi?« Er antwortete: »Dein Knecht ist überhaupt nicht ausgegangen.«

Y él entró, y púsose delante de su señor. Y Eliseo le dijo: ¿De dónde vienes, Giezi? Y él dijo: Tu siervo no ha ido á ninguna parte.

But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither.

But he went in, and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, “Where did you come from, Gehazi?” He said, “Your servant went nowhere.”

Da sagte (Elisa) zu ihm: »Bin ich nicht im Geist mit dir gegangen, als sich jemand von seinem Wagen aus nach dir umwandte? Ist es jetzt an der Zeit, Geld und Kleider anzunehmen und Ölbaumgärten und Weinberge, Kleinvieh und Rinder, Knechte und Mägde dafür (zu erwerben)?

El entonces le dijo: ¿No fué también mi corazón, cuando el hombre volvió de su carro á recibirte? ¿es tiempo de tomar plata, y de tomar vestidos, olivares, viñas, ovejas, bueyes, siervos y siervas?

And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?

He said to him, “Didn’t my heart go with you when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive groves and vineyards, and sheep and cattle, and male servants and female servants?

So soll denn der Aussatz Naemans an dir und deinen Nachkommen ewig haften!« Da ging (Gehasi) von ihm weg, vom Aussatz weiß wie Schnee.

La lepra de Naamán se te pegará á ti, y á tu simiente para siempre. Y salió de delante de él leproso, blanco como la nieve.

The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.

Therefore the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your offspring forever.” He went out from his presence a leper, as white as snow.
