12El rey salió de la cama y les dijo a sus oficiales: ―Yo sé lo que ha ocurrido: como los sirios saben que tenemos hambre, han abandonado el campamento y se han escondido en los campos. Piensan que somos tan tontos que saldremos de la ciudad. Si salimos nos atacarán, nos harán esclavos y tomarán la ciudad.

12Y levantóse el rey de noche, y dijo á sus siervos: Yo os declararé lo que nos han hecho los Siros. Ellos saben que tenemos hambre, y hanse salido de las tiendas y escondídose en el campo, diciendo: Cuando hubieren salido de la ciudad, los tomaremos vivos, y entraremos en la ciudad.

12And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.
