Respondió a eso Eliseo: Oíd la palabra del Señor. He aquí lo que el Señor dice: Mañana a estas horas el modio de flor de harina se venderá por un siclo, y un siclo costarán dos modios de cebada en la puerta de Samaria.
DIJO entonces Eliseo: Oid palabra de Jehová: Así dijo Jehová: Mañana á estas horas valdrá el seah de flor de harina un siclo, y dos seah de cebada un siclo, á la puerta de Samaria.
Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
Elisha said, “Hear the LORD’s word. The LORD says, ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour will be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.’”
Uno de los capitanes, que servía de bracero al rey, respondió al varón de Dios, y dijo: Aunque el Señor hiciese compuertas en el cielo, y lloviese trigo, ¿podrá algún día suceder lo que tú dices? Le contestó Eliseo: Lo verás con tus ojos; mas no comerás de ello.
Y un príncipe sobre cuya mano el rey se apoyaba, respondió al varón de Dios, y dijo: Si Jehová hiciese ahora ventanas en el cielo, ¿sería esto así? Y él dijo: He aquí tú lo verás con tus ojos, mas no comerás de ello.
Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, “Behold, if the LORD made windows in heaven, could this thing be?” He said, “Behold, you will see it with your eyes, but will not eat of it.”
Había cuatro hombres leprosos cerca de la entrada de la puerta de la ciudad, los cuales se dijeron unos a otros: ¿Para qué queremos estar aquí hasta morir?
Y había cuatro hombres leprosos á la entrada de la puerta, los cuales dijeron el uno al otro: ¿Para qué nos estamos aquí hasta que muramos?
And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?

Si tratamos de entrar en la ciudad, moriremos de hambre; si nos quedamos aquí, moriremos también; vamos, pues, y pasémonos al campamento de los siros; si tuvieren compasión de nosotros, viviremos; que si nos quieren matar, de cualquier modo también habríamos de morirnos acá.

If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

Con esto al anochecer se pusieron en camino para pasar al campamento de los siros; y llegados que fueron a la entrada del campo de los siros, no hallaron allí a nadie.
Levantáronse pues en el principio de la noche, para irse al campo de los Siros; y llegando á las primeras estancias de los Siros, no había allí hombre.
And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.

Porque el Señor había hecho resonar en los campamentos de los siros estruendo de carros falcados y de caballos, y de un numerosísimo ejército; con lo que se dijeron unos a otros: Sin duda el rey de Israel ha asalariado contra nosotros a los reyes de los heteos y de los egipcios, y se han echado sobre nosotros.
Porque el Señor había hecho que en el campo de los Siros se oyese estruendo de carros, ruido de caballos, y estrépito de grande ejército; y dijéronse los unos á los otros: He aquí el rey de Israel ha pagado contra nosotros á los reyes de los Hetheos, y á los reyes de los Egipcios, para que vengan contra nosotros.

Pero se dijeron unos a otros: No obramos bien, pues este día es día de albricias; si nosotros callamos, y no damos aviso hasta la mañana, se nos hará de esto un crimen. Ea, pues, vamos, y llevemos la nueva al palacio del rey.
Y dijéronse el uno al otro: No hacemos bien: hoy es día de buena nueva, y nosotros callamos: y si esperamos hasta la luz de la mañana, nos alcanzará la maldad. Vamos pues ahora, entremos, y demos la nueva en casa del rey.
Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.
Then they said to one another, “We aren’t doing right. Today is a day of good news, and we keep silent. If we wait until the morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let’s go and tell the king’s household.”
Venidos a la puerta de la ciudad, dieron la noticia diciendo: Hemos ido al campamento de los siros, y no hemos hallado allí a nadie, sino sólo los caballos y los asnos atados, y las tiendas que están todavía en pie.
Y vinieron, y dieron voces á los guardas de la puerta de la ciudad, y declaráronles, diciendo: Nosotros fuimos al campo de los Siros, y he aquí que no había allí hombre, ni voz de hombre, sino caballos atados, asnos también atados, y el campo como se estaba.
So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were.

Fueron, pues, los guardias de la puerta, y avisaron la novedad a los de dentro del palacio del rey;
Y los porteros dieron voces, y declaráronlo dentro, en el palacio del rey.
And he called the porters; and they told it to the king’s house within.

el cual se levantó, siendo aún de noche, y dijo a sus criados: Yo os diré lo que han hecho con nosotros los siros; saben que nos morimos de hambre, y por eso se han salido del campamento, y están escondidos por los campos, diciendo: Cuando salgan de la ciudad, los cogeremos vivos, y entonces podremos entrar en ella.
Y levantóse el rey de noche, y dijo á sus siervos: Yo os declararé lo que nos han hecho los Siros. Ellos saben que tenemos hambre, y hanse salido de las tiendas y escondídose en el campo, diciendo: Cuando hubieren salido de la ciudad, los tomaremos vivos, y entraremos en la ciudad.
And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.

Mas uno de sus criados le respondió: Tomemos los cinco caballos que han quedado en la ciudad (ya que sólo éstos restan de todos los que había en Israel, por haber sido consumidos los otros), y enviemos a hacer con ellos la descubierta.
Entonces respondió uno de sus siervos, y dijo: Tomen ahora cinco de los caballos que han quedado en la ciudad, (porque ellos también son como toda la multitud de Israel que ha quedado en ella; también ellos son como toda la multitud de Israel que ha perecido;) y enviemos, y veamos qué hay.
And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.

Trajeron, pues, dos caballos, y envió el rey dos hombres al campamento de los siros, diciendo: Id y observad lo que hay.

They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.

Había puesto el rey a la puerta de la ciudad aquel capitán que le servía de bracero, al cual atropelló el gentío a la entrada de la puerta, y murió conforme a lo que había predicho el varón de Dios, cuando fue el rey a buscarlo.
Y el rey puso á la puerta á aquel príncipe sobre cuya mano él se apoyaba: y atropellóle el pueblo á la entrada, y murió, conforme á lo que había dicho el varón de Dios, lo que habló cuando el rey descendió á él.
And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came down to him.
The king had appointed the captain on whose hand he leaned to be in charge of the gate; and the people trampled over him in the gate, and he died as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him.
Con esto se cumplió la palabra del varón de Dios que había predicho al rey: Mañana a estas horas dos modios de cebada se venderán por un siclo, y por un siclo un modio de flor de harina en la puerta de Samaria;
Aconteció pues de la manera que el varón de Dios había hablado al rey, diciendo: Dos seah de cebada por un siclo, y el seah de flor de harina será vendido por un siclo mañana á estas horas, á la puerta de Samaria.
And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:

en la cual ocasión replicó aquel capitán al varón de Dios, diciendo: Aunque Dios abra las compuertas del cielo para llover trigo, ¿podrá verificarse algún día lo que tú dices? Y le respondió Eliseo: Lo verás con tus ojos; mas no comerás de ello.
A lo cual aquel príncipe había respondido al varón de Dios, diciendo: Aunque Jehová hiciese ventanas en el cielo, ¿pudiera ser eso? Y él dijo: He aquí tú lo verás con tus ojos, mas no comerás de ello.

Así le aconteció, como estaba predicho, pues lo atropelló el pueblo a la puerta, y quedó muerto.
Y vínole así; porque el pueblo le atropelló á la entrada, y murió.
And so it fell out unto him: for the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died.
It happened like that to him, for the people trampled over him in the gate, and he died.
