Der Prophet Elisa aber rief einen von den Prophetenjüngern zu sich und befahl ihm: »Gürte dir die Lenden, nimm dieses Ölfläschchen mit dir und begib dich nach Ramoth in Gilead.

ENTONCES el profeta Eliseo llamó á uno de los hijos de los profetas, y díjole: Ciñe tus lomos, y toma esta alcuza de aceite en tu mano, y ve á Ramoth de Galaad.

And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead:

Wenn du dort angekommen bist, so sieh dich daselbst nach Jehu um, dem Sohne Josaphats, des Sohnes Nimsis. Gehe dann zu ihm ins Haus, fordere ihn auf, aus dem Kreise seiner Genossen herauszutreten, und führe ihn in das innerste Gemach.

Y cuando llegares allá, verás allí á Jehú hijo de Josaphat hijo de Nimsi; y entrando, haz que se levante de entre sus hermanos, y mételo en la recámara.

And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;

When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in and make him rise up from among his brothers, and take him to an inner room.

Dann nimm das Ölfläschchen und gieße es ihm aufs Haupt mit den Worten: ›So spricht der HERR: Ich salbe dich hiermit zum König über Israel!‹ Dann öffne die Tür und entfliehe unverzüglich!«

Toma luego la alcuza de aceite, y derrámala sobre su cabeza, y di: Así dijo Jehová: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel. Y abriendo la puerta, echa á huir, y no esperes.

Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.

Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘The LORD says, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”

Als nun der junge Mann, der Diener des Propheten, nach Ramoth in Gilead gekommen

Fué pues el mozo, el mozo del profeta, á Ramoth de Galaad.

And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.

When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which one of us?” He said, “To you, O captain.”

Da stand Jehu auf und ging (mit ihm) ins Haus hinein; jener aber goß ihm das Öl aufs Haupt und sagte zu ihm: »So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: ›Ich habe dich hiermit zum König über das Volk des HERRN, über Israel, gesalbt.

And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.

Du sollst nun das Haus Ahabs, deines Herrn, ausrotten, damit ich das Blut der Propheten, meiner Knechte, und das Blut aller Knechte des HERRN an Isebel räche.

Y herirás la casa de Achâb tu señor, para que yo vengue la sangre de mis siervos los profetas, y la sangre de todos los siervos de Jehová, de la mano de Jezabel.

And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

You must strike your master Ahab’s house, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

Denn das ganze Haus Ahabs soll umkommen, und ich will von den Angehörigen Ahabs alles ausrotten, was männlichen Geschlechts ist, sowohl die Unmündigen als auch die Mündigen in Israel;

Y perecerá toda la casa de Achâb, y talaré de Achâb todo meante á la pared, así al guardado como al desamparado en Israel.

For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:

For the whole house of Ahab will perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

und ich will mit dem Hause Ahabs verfahren wie mit dem Hause Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, und wie mit dem Hause Baesas, des Sohnes Ahias.

Y yo pondré la casa de Achâb como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahía.

And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:

I will make Ahab’s house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

Isebel aber sollen die Hunde auf der Feldmark von Jesreel fressen, und niemand soll sie begraben!‹« Hierauf öffnete er die Tür und entfloh.

Y á Jezabel comerán perros en el campo de Jezreel, y no habrá quien la sepulte. En seguida abrió la puerta, y echó á huir.

And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.

Als nun Jehu wieder zu den anderen Hauptleuten seines Herrn hinauskam und sie ihn fragten: »Steht alles gut? Warum ist dieser Verrückte zu dir gekommen?«, antwortete er ihnen: »Ihr kennt ja den Mann und sein Geschwätz.«

Después salió Jehú á los siervos de su señor, y dijéronle: ¿Hay paz? ¿para qué entró á ti aquel loco? Y él les dijo: Vosotros conocéis al hombre y sus palabras.

Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.

When Jehu came out to the servants of his lord and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this madman come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and how he talks.”

Aber sie riefen: »Das sind Ausflüchte! Teile es uns nur mit!« Da sagte er: »So und so hat er zu mir gesagt, nämlich: ›So spricht der HERR: Ich habe dich zum König über Israel gesalbt.‹«

Y ellos dijeron: Mentira; decláranoslo ahora. Y él dijo: Así y así me habló, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel.

And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel.

They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘The LORD says, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”

Sofort nahmen sie alle ihre Mäntel, legten sie ihm zu Füßen auf die bloßen Stufen, ließen die Posaune blasen und riefen: »Jehu ist König!«

Entonces tomaron prestamente su ropa, y púsola cada uno debajo de él en un trono alto, y tocaron corneta, y dijeron: Jehú es rey.

Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.

Then they hurried, and each man took his cloak, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”

Auf diese Weise zettelte Jehu, der Sohn Josaphats, des Sohnes Nimsis, eine Verschwörung gegen Joram an. – Joram hatte nämlich mit ganz Israel Ramoth in Gilead gegen den syrischen König Hasael verteidigt,

Así conjuró Jehú hijo de Josaphat hijo de Nimsi, contra Joram. (Estaba Joram guardando á Ramoth de Galaad con todo Israel, por causa de Hazael rey de Siria.

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramoth-gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.

war dann aber zurückgekehrt, um sich in Jesreel von den Wunden heilen zu lassen, die ihm die Syrer im Kampfe mit dem syrischen Könige Hasael beigebracht hatten. – Jehu aber sagte: »Wenn ihr einverstanden seid, so darf niemand die Stadt verlassen, um hinzugehen und das Geschehene in Jesreel zu melden.«

Habíase empero vuelto el rey Joram á Jezreel, para curarse de las heridas que los Siros le habían hecho, peleando contra Hazael rey de Siria.) Y Jehú dijo: Si es vuestra voluntad, ninguno escape de la ciudad, para ir á dar las nuevas en Jezreel.

Hierauf bestieg Jehu seinen Wagen und trat die Fahrt nach Jesreel an; denn dort lag Joram krank darnieder, und Ahasja, der König von Juda, war dorthin gekommen, um Joram zu besuchen.

Als nun der Wächter, der auf dem Turm zu Jesreel stand, die Kriegerschar Jehus herankommen sah, rief er: »Ich sehe eine Kriegerschar!« Da befahl Joram: »Man nehme einen Berittenen und schicke ihnen den entgegen, daß er frage, ob sie in friedlicher Absicht kommen!«

Y el atalaya que estaba en la torre de Jezreel, vió la cuadrilla de Jehú, que venía, y dijo: Yo veo una cuadrilla. Y Joram dijo: Toma uno de á caballo, y envía á reconocerlos, y que les diga: ¿Hay paz?

And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?

Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”

Der Reiter ritt ihm also entgegen und sagte: »Der König läßt fragen, ob ihr in friedlicher Absicht kommt.« Jehu antwortete: »Was geht dich der Friede an? Mache kehrt und reite hinter mir her!« Da meldete der Wächter: »Der Bote ist zu ihnen hingekommen, kehrt aber nicht zurück.«

Fué pues el de á caballo á reconocerlos, y dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú le dijo: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? vuélvete tras mí. El atalaya dió luego aviso, diciendo: El mensajero llegó hasta ellos, y no vuelve.

So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.

So one went on horseback to meet him, and said, “the king says, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”

Da schickte er einen zweiten Reiter ab; als der bei ihnen ankam und sagte: »Der König läßt fragen, ob ihr in friedlicher Absicht kommt«, antwortete Jehu wieder: »Was geht dich der Friede an? Mache kehrt und reite hinter mir her!«

Entonces envió otro de á caballo, el cual llegando á ellos, dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú respondió: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? vuélvete tras mí.

Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

Da meldete der Wächter: »Der ist auch zu ihnen hingekommen, kehrt aber nicht wieder zurück. Doch die Art, wie jener fährt, sieht so aus, als ob es Jehu, der Sohn Nimsis, wäre; denn er fährt wie wahnsinnig.«

El atalaya volvió á decir: También éste llegó á ellos y no vuelve: mas el marchar del que viene es como el marchar de Jehú hijo de Nimsi, porque viene impetuosamente.

And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.

The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.”

Da befahl Joram anzuspannen; und als man seinen Wagen angespannt hatte, fuhren Joram, der König von Israel, und Ahasja, der König von Juda, hinaus, jeder auf seinem Wagen; sie fuhren Jehu entgegen und trafen bei dem Acker Naboths, des Jesreeliters, mit ihm zusammen.

Entonces Joram dijo: Unce. Y uncido que fué su carro, salió Joram rey de Israel, y Ochôzías rey de Judá, cada uno en su carro, y salieron á encontrar á Jehú, al cual hallaron en la heredad de Naboth de Jezreel.

And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot; and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him on Naboth the Jezreelite’s land.

Als nun Joram den Jehu sah und ihn fragte: »Kommst du in friedlicher Absicht, Jehu?«, antwortete dieser: »Was friedliche Absicht bei all dem Götzendienst deiner Mutter Isebel und all ihren Zaubereien!«

Y en viendo Joram á Jehú, dijo: ¿Hay paz, Jehú? Y él respondió: ¿Qué paz, con las fornicaciones de Jezabel tu madre, y sus muchas hechicerías?

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

When Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”

Da ließ Joram seinen Wagen zur Flucht umwenden und rief dem Ahasja zu: »Verrat, Ahasja!«

Entonces Joram volviendo la mano huyó, y dijo á Ochôzías: ¡Traición, Ochôzías!

And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.

Jehu aber hatte seinen Bogen schon gespannt und traf Joram zwischen die Schulterblätter, so daß der Pfeil ihm durch das Herz fuhr und er in seinem Wagen niedersank.

And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

Dann befahl er Bidkar, seinem Ritter: »Nimm ihn und wirf ihn auf den Acker Naboths, des Jesreeliters! Denke daran, wie wir beide nebeneinander hinter seinem Vater Ahab herritten und Gott der HERR dieses Drohwort gegen ihn aussprach:

Dijo luego Jehú á Bidkar su capitán: Tómalo y échalo á un cabo de la heredad de Naboth de Jezreel. Acuérdate que cuando tú y yo íbamos juntos con la gente de Achâb su padre, Jehová pronunció esta sentencia sobre él, diciendo:

Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;

Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden on him:

›So wahr ich gestern das Blut Naboths und das Blut seiner Söhne gesehen habe‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN –, ›so gewiß will ich es dir auf diesem Acker vergelten!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN. So nimm ihn nun und wirf ihn auf den Acker nach dem Geheiß des HERRN!«

Que yo he visto ayer las sangres de Naboth, y las sangres de sus hijos, dijo Jehová; y tengo de darte la paga en esta heredad, dijo Jehová. Tómalo pues ahora, y échalo en la heredad, conforme á la palabra de Jehová.

Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the LORD; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the LORD.

‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says the LORD; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the LORD’s word.”

Als Ahasja, der König von Juda, das sah, floh er in der Richtung auf Beth-Haggan. Jehu aber jagte ihm nach und rief: »Schießt auch ihn nieder!« Da schoß man nach ihm auf dem Wagen und verwundete ihn auf der Anhöhe von Gur, die bei Jibleam liegt; er floh dann noch bis Megiddo und starb dort.

Y viendo esto Ochôzías rey de Judá, huyó por el camino de la casa del huerto. Y siguiólo Jehú, diciendo: Herid también á éste en el carro. Y le hirieron á la subida de Gur, junto á Ibleam. Y él huyó á Megiddo, y murió allí.

But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

Seine Diener brachten ihn dann zu Wagen nach Jerusalem, und man begrub ihn in seiner Grabstätte bei seinen Vätern in der Davidsstadt. –

And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.

Jehu aber war nach Jesreel gekommen; und sobald Isebel dies erfuhr, schminkte sie sich die Augen, schmückte sich das Haupt und schaute zum Fenster hinaus.

Vino después Jehú á Jezreel: y como Jezabel lo oyó, adornó sus ojos con alcohol, y atavió su cabeza, y asomóse á una ventana.

And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.

Als nun Jehu ins Tor hereinkam, rief sie ihm zu: »Ist es Simri, dem Mörder seines Herrn, gut ergangen?«.

Y como entraba Jehú por la puerta, ella dijo: ¿Sucedió bien á Zimri, que mató á su señor?

And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?

As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”

Da blickte er nach dem Fenster hinauf und rief: »Wer hält es mit mir? Wer?« Als nun zwei oder drei Kammerherren zu ihm hinabschauten,

And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.

rief er ihnen zu: »Stürzt sie herab!« Da stürzten sie sie hinab, so daß die Wand und die Rosse mit ihrem Blut bespritzt wurden und diese sie zerstampften.

And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.

Als er dann in das Schloß eingetreten war und gegessen und getrunken hatte, befahl er: »Seht doch nach jenem verfluchten Weibe und begrabt sie! Denn sie ist eine Königstochter.«

And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king’s daughter.

Als man aber hinging, um sie zu begraben, fand man von ihr nichts mehr als den Schädel, die Füße und die Hände.

Als sie nun zurückkamen und es dem Jehu meldeten, rief er aus: »So lautet das Wort des HERRN, das er durch den Mund seines Knechtes Elia, des Thisbiters, hat verkünden lassen: ›Auf der Feldmark von Jesreel sollen die Hunde das Fleisch Isebels fressen,

Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:

And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

and the body of Jezebel will be as dung on the surface of the field on Jezreel’s land, so that they won’t say, “This is Jezebel.”’”
