Or, Elisée avait mandé un des jeunes prophètes pour lui dire: "Ceins tes reins, prends cette fiole d'huile en ta main et rends-toi à Ramot-Galaad.

ENTONCES el profeta Eliseo llamó á uno de los hijos de los profetas, y díjole: Ciñe tus lomos, y toma esta alcuza de aceite en tu mano, y ve á Ramoth de Galaad.

And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead:

Arrivé à destination, enquiers-toi de Jéhu, fils de Josaphat, fils de Nimchi. Une fois admis en sa présence, tu l'engageras à se lever du milieu de ses frères d'armes et l'introduiras dans une chambre retirée.

Y cuando llegares allá, verás allí á Jehú hijo de Josaphat hijo de Nimsi; y entrando, haz que se levante de entre sus hermanos, y mételo en la recámara.

And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;

When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in and make him rise up from among his brothers, and take him to an inner room.

Prends alors la fiole d'huile, répands-la sur sa tête en disant: Ainsi a parlé l'Eternel: Je te sacre roi d'Israël. Puis ouvre la porte et enfuis-toi sans retard."

Toma luego la alcuza de aceite, y derrámala sobre su cabeza, y di: Así dijo Jehová: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel. Y abriendo la puerta, echa á huir, y no esperes.

Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.

Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘The LORD says, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”

Le jeune homme, le jeune prophète, alla à Ramot-Galaad.

Dès son arrivée, il trouva les chefs de l'armée siégeant ensemble, et il dit: "J'ai une communication pour toi, ô commandant. Pour qui d'entre nous tous?" demanda Jéhu. "Pour toi, commandant," répondit-il.

And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.

When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which one of us?” He said, “To you, O captain.”

Tu frapperas la maison de ton maître Achab, et ainsi je vengerai sur Jézabel le sang de mes serviteurs les prophètes et le sang de tous les serviteurs du Seigneur.

Y herirás la casa de Achâb tu señor, para que yo vengue la sangre de mis siervos los profetas, y la sangre de todos los siervos de Jehová, de la mano de Jezabel.

And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

You must strike your master Ahab’s house, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

Toute la maison d'Achab doit périr: j'exterminerai la plus vile créature appartenant à Achab, tout ce qu'il possède de précieux et d'infime en Israël.

Y perecerá toda la casa de Achâb, y talaré de Achâb todo meante á la pared, así al guardado como al desamparado en Israel.

For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:

For the whole house of Ahab will perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

Je ferai ainsi de la maison d'Achab ce que j'ai fait de la maison de Jéroboam, fils de Nebat, et de la maison de Baasa, fils d'Ahiyya.

Y yo pondré la casa de Achâb como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahía.

And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:

I will make Ahab’s house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

Quant à Jézabel, les chiens la dévoreront sur le domaine de Jezreël, et personne ne l'ensevelira." Puis il ouvrit la porte et s'enfuit.

Y á Jezabel comerán perros en el campo de Jezreel, y no habrá quien la sepulte. En seguida abrió la puerta, y echó á huir.

And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.

Jéhu sortit pour rejoindre les serviteurs de son maître. On lui demanda: "Tout est-il bien? Pourquoi cet exalté est-il venu te trouver?" Il leur répondit: "Vous connaissez bien l'homme et ses discours.

Después salió Jehú á los siervos de su señor, y dijéronle: ¿Hay paz? ¿para qué entró á ti aquel loco? Y él les dijo: Vosotros conocéis al hombre y sus palabras.

Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.

When Jehu came out to the servants of his lord and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this madman come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and how he talks.”

- C'est de la dissimulation, répliquèrent-ils; de grâce, raconte-nous tout." Il repartit: "C'est de telle et telle façon qu'il m'a parlé; il m'a dit: Ainsi a parlé l'Eternel: Je te sacre roi d'Israël."

Y ellos dijeron: Mentira; decláranoslo ahora. Y él dijo: Así y así me habló, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel.

And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel.

They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘The LORD says, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”

Aussitôt ils s'empressèrent tous de prendre leurs manteaux, les étendirent sous lui au haut de l'escalier, et sonnèrent du cor en s'écriant: "Jéhu est roi!"

Entonces tomaron prestamente su ropa, y púsola cada uno debajo de él en un trono alto, y tocaron corneta, y dijeron: Jehú es rey.

Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.

Then they hurried, and each man took his cloak, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”

C'est de la sorte que Jéhu, fils de Josaphat, fils de Nimchi, complota contre Joram. Celui-ci avait été en observation à Ramot-Galaad, avec tout Israël, en face de Hazaël, roi de Syrie.

Así conjuró Jehú hijo de Josaphat hijo de Nimsi, contra Joram. (Estaba Joram guardando á Ramoth de Galaad con todo Israel, por causa de Hazael rey de Siria.

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramoth-gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.

Mais le roi Joram s'en était retourné pour attendre à Jezreël la guérison des blessures que lui avaient faites les Syriens au cours de sa campagne contre Hazaël, roi de Syrie. Jéhu dit: "Si vous le voulez bien, qu'aucun transfuge ne sorte de la ville pour porter des nouvelles à Jezreël."

Or, le gardien qui se tenait sur la tour de Jezreël remarqua la troupe de Jéhu qui avançait, et il dit: "J'aperçois une troupe." Joram répliqua: "Prends un cavalier, dépêche-le au-devant d'eux pour qu'il demande: Est-ce la paix?"

Y el atalaya que estaba en la torre de Jezreel, vió la cuadrilla de Jehú, que venía, y dijo: Yo veo una cuadrilla. Y Joram dijo: Toma uno de á caballo, y envía á reconocerlos, y que les diga: ¿Hay paz?

And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?

Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”

Le cavalier se rendit au-devant de Jéhu et dit: "Voici ce que demande le roi: Est-ce la paix?" Jéhu répondit: "Quoi de commun entre toi et la paix? Passe derrière moi." La sentinelle en fit part en disant: "Le messager est arrivé jusqu'à eux, mais n'est point revenu."

Fué pues el de á caballo á reconocerlos, y dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú le dijo: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? vuélvete tras mí. El atalaya dió luego aviso, diciendo: El mensajero llegó hasta ellos, y no vuelve.

So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.

So one went on horseback to meet him, and said, “the king says, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”

Il envoya un second cavalier, qui, arrivé auprès d'eux, dit: Voici ce que demande le roi: Est-ce la paix?" Jéhu répondit: "Quoi de commun entre toi et la paix? Passe derrière moi."

Entonces envió otro de á caballo, el cual llegando á ellos, dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú respondió: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? vuélvete tras mí.

Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

La sentinelle en fit part en ces termes: "Il est arrivé jusqu'à eux et n'est point revenu. Or, le train ressemble au train de Jéhu, fils de Nimchi; car il dirige d'une manière désordonnée."

El atalaya volvió á decir: También éste llegó á ellos y no vuelve: mas el marchar del que viene es como el marchar de Jehú hijo de Nimsi, porque viene impetuosamente.

And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.

The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.”

Joram dit: "Attelle!" On attela son char, et Joram, roi d'Israël, Achazia, roi de Juda, chacun sur son char, sortirent à la rencontre de Jéhu. Ils le joignirent près du domaine de Nabot, le Jezreélite.

Entonces Joram dijo: Unce. Y uncido que fué su carro, salió Joram rey de Israel, y Ochôzías rey de Judá, cada uno en su carro, y salieron á encontrar á Jehú, al cual hallaron en la heredad de Naboth de Jezreel.

And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot; and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him on Naboth the Jezreelite’s land.

Dès que Joram aperçut Jéhu, il dit: "Est-ce la paix, Jéhu?" Peut-il être question de paix, fut la réponse, tant que durent les débordements de ta mère Jézabel et ses nombreux sortilèges?"

Y en viendo Joram á Jehú, dijo: ¿Hay paz, Jehú? Y él respondió: ¿Qué paz, con las fornicaciones de Jezabel tu madre, y sus muchas hechicerías?

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

When Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”

Joram tourna bride et prit la fuite, en disant à Achazia: "Trahison, Achazia!"

Entonces Joram volviendo la mano huyó, y dijo á Ochôzías: ¡Traición, Ochôzías!

And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.

Jéhu saisit l'arc de sa main, et la flèche atteignit Joram entre les épaules, de façon à transpercer son cœur: il s'affaissa dans son char.

And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

Jéhu dit à Bidkar, son officier: "Enlève son corps et jette-le à terre dans le champ de Nabot, le Jezreélite; car je me souviens avec toi du jour où nous chevauchions de concert à la suite d'Achab, son père, alors que l'Eternel a émis contre lui cette prédiction:

Dijo luego Jehú á Bidkar su capitán: Tómalo y échalo á un cabo de la heredad de Naboth de Jezreel. Acuérdate que cuando tú y yo íbamos juntos con la gente de Achâb su padre, Jehová pronunció esta sentencia sobre él, diciendo:

Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;

Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden on him:

A coup sûr, j'ai remarqué hier le sang de Nabot et le sang de ses enfants (dit l'Eternel); je t'en paierai le prix dans ce champ même (dit l'Eternel); enlève-le donc et jette-le dans ce champ, conformément à la parole du Seigneur."

Que yo he visto ayer las sangres de Naboth, y las sangres de sus hijos, dijo Jehová; y tengo de darte la paga en esta heredad, dijo Jehová. Tómalo pues ahora, y échalo en la heredad, conforme á la palabra de Jehová.

Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the LORD; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the LORD.

‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says the LORD; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the LORD’s word.”

A cette vue, Achazia, roi de Juda, se mit à fuir dans la direction de la maison du parc; Jéhu se lança à sa poursuite et dit: "Lui aussi, frappez-le!" Il fut atteint dans son char, sur la montée de Gour du côté de Yibleam. Il se réfugia à Meghiddo et y mourut.

Y viendo esto Ochôzías rey de Judá, huyó por el camino de la casa del huerto. Y siguiólo Jehú, diciendo: Herid también á éste en el carro. Y le hirieron á la subida de Gur, junto á Ibleam. Y él huyó á Megiddo, y murió allí.

But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

Ses serviteurs le transportèrent à Jérusalem et l'ensevelirent dans son sépulcre, auprès de ses aïeux, dans la Cité de David.

Y sus siervos le llevaron en un carro á Jerusalem, y allá le sepultaron con sus padres, en su sepulcro en la ciudad de David.

Puis Jéhu entra à Jezreël. Or, Jézabel avait tout appris: elle s'enduisit les yeux de fard, se para la tête et regarda par la fenêtre.

Vino después Jehú á Jezreel: y como Jezabel lo oyó, adornó sus ojos con alcohol, y atavió su cabeza, y asomóse á una ventana.

And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.

Jéhu franchissant la porte, elle s'écria: "Est-ce la paix, Zimri, assassin de ton maître?"

Y como entraba Jehú por la puerta, ella dijo: ¿Sucedió bien á Zimri, que mató á su señor?

And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?

Il leva les regards vers la fenêtre: "Qui est avec moi, qui?" dit-il. Deux ou trois officiers tournèrent les yeux vers lui,

Alzando él entonces su rostro hacia la ventana, dijo: ¿Quién es conmigo? ¿quién? Y miraron hacia él dos ó tres eunucos.

And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.

et il leur dit: "Précipitez-la!" Ils la précipitèrent. Son sang rejaillit sur le mur et sur les chevaux, et il la foula aux pieds.

And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.

Ils allèrent pour l'ensevelir, mais ne trouvèrent plus d'elle que le crâne, les pieds et les paumes des mains.

Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:

Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is the LORD’s word, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,

et le cadavre de Jézabel sera étendu sur le domaine de Jezreël, pareil au fumier qui couvre les champs, de telle sorte qu'on ne puisse pas dire: C'est là Jézabel!"

Y el cuerpo de Jezabel fué cual estiércol sobre la faz de la tierra en la heredad de Jezreel; de manera que nadie pueda decir: Esta es Jezabel.

And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.
