Siméon Pierre, esclave et apôtre de Jésus Christ, à ceux qui ont reçu en partage une foi de pareil prix avec nous, par †la justice de notre Dieu et Sauveur Jésus Christ :

SIMÓN Pedro, siervo y apóstol de Jesucristo, á los que habéis alcanzado fe igualmente preciosa con nosotros en la justicia de nuestro Dios y Salvador Jesucristo:

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Que la grâce et la paix vous soient multipliées dans la connaissance de Dieu et de Jésus notre Seigneur !

Gracia y paz os sea multiplicada en el conocimiento de Dios, y de nuestro Señor Jesús.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

Comme sa divine puissance nous a donné tout ce qui regarde la vie et la piété, par la connaissance de celui qui nous a appelés par †la gloire et par †la vertu,

Como todas las cosas que pertenecen á la vida y á la piedad nos sean dadas de su divina potencia, por el conocimiento de aquel que nos ha llamado por su gloria y virtud:

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue,

par lesquelles il nous a donné les très grandes et précieuses promesses, afin que par elles vous participiez de la nature divine, ayant échappé à la corruption qui est dans le monde par la convoitise… ;

Por las cuales nos son dadas preciosas y grandísimas promesas, para que por ellas fueseis hechos participantes de la naturaleza divina, habiendo huído de la corrupción que está en el mundo por concupiscencia.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.

pour cette même raison aussi, y apportant tout empressement, joignez à votre foi, la vertu ; et à la vertu, la connaissance ;

Vosotros también, poniendo toda diligencia por esto mismo, mostrad en vuestra fe virtud, y en la virtud ciencia;

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge;

et à la connaissance, la tempérance ; et à la tempérance, la patience ; et à la patience, la piété ;

Y en la ciencia templanza, y en la templanza paciencia, y en la paciencia temor de Dios;

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control, perseverance; and in perseverance, godliness;

et à la piété, l’affection fraternelle ; et à l’affection fraternelle, l’amour ;

Y en el temor de Dios, amor fraternal, y en el amor fraternal caridad.

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

and in godliness, brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.

car, si ces choses sont en vous et y abondent, elles font que vous ne serez pas oisifs ni stériles pour ce qui regarde la connaissance de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ ;

Porque si en vosotros hay estas cosas, y abundan, no os dejarán estar ociosos, ni estériles en el conocimiento de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to not be idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

car celui en qui ces choses ne se trouvent pas est aveugle, et ne voit pas loin, ayant oublié la purification de ses péchés d’autrefois.

Mas el que no tiene estas cosas, es ciego, y tiene la vista muy corta, habiendo olvidado la purificación de sus antiguos pecados.

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

For he who lacks these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins.

C’est pourquoi, frères, étudiez-vous d’autant plus à affermir votre appel et votre élection, car en faisant ces choses vous ne faillirez jamais ;

Por lo cual, hermanos, procurad tanto más de hacer firme vuestra vocación y elección; porque haciendo estas cosas, no caeréis jamás.

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.

car ainsi l’entrée dans le royaume éternel de notre Seigneur et Sauveur Jésus Christ vous sera richement donnée.

Porque de esta manera os será abundantemente administrada la entrada en el reino eterno de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo.

For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

For thus you will be richly supplied with the entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

C’est pourquoi je m’appliquerai à vous faire souvenir toujours de ces choses, quoique vous les connaissiez et que vous soyez affermis dans la vérité présente.

Por esto, yo no dejaré de amonestaros siempre de estas cosas, aunque vosotros las sepáis, y estéis confirmados en la verdad presente.

Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you of these things, though you know them and are established in the present truth.

Mais j’estime qu’il est juste, tant que je suis dans cette tente, de vous réveiller en rappelant †ces choses à votre mémoire,

Porque tengo por justo, en tanto que estoy en este tabernáculo, de incitaros con amonestación:

Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

I think it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you,

sachant que le moment de déposer ma tente s’approche rapidement, comme aussi notre Seigneur Jésus Christ me l’a montré ;

Sabiendo que brevemente tengo de dejar mi tabernáculo, como nuestro Señor Jesucristo me ha declarado.

Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

mais je m’étudierai à ce qu’après mon départ vous puissiez aussi en tout temps vous rappeler ces choses.

También yo procuraré con diligencia, que después de mi fallecimiento, vosotros podáis siempre tener memoria de estas cosas.

Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

Yes, I will make every effort that you may always be able to remember these things even after my departure.

Car ce n’est pas en suivant des fables ingénieusement imaginées, que nous vous avons fait connaître la puissance et la venue de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ, mais comme ayant été témoins oculaires de sa majesté.

Porque no os hemos dado á conocer la potencia y la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, siguiendo fábulas por arte compuestas; sino como habiendo con nuestros propios ojos visto su majestad.

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

For we didn’t follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Car il reçut de Dieu le Père honneur et gloire, lorsqu’une telle voix lui fut adressée par la gloire magnifique : « Celui-ci est mon Fils bien-aimé, en qui j’ai trouvé mon plaisir ».

Porque él había recibido de Dios Padre honra y gloria, cuando una tal voz fué á él enviada de la magnífica gloria: Este es el amado Hijo mío, en el cual yo me he agradado.

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

For he received from God the Father honor and glory when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Et nous, nous avons entendu cette voix venue du ciel, étant avec lui sur la sainte montagne.

Y nosotros oímos esta voz enviada del cielo, cuando estábamos juntamente con él en el monte santo.

And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

We heard this voice come out of heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.

Et nous avons la parole prophétique †rendue plus ferme, (à laquelle vous faites bien d’être attentifs, comme à une lampe qui brille dans un lieu obscur), jusqu’à ce que †le jour ait commencé à luire et que †l’étoile du matin se soit levée dans vos cœurs,

Tenemos también la palabra profética más permanente, á la cual hacéis bien de estar atentos como á una antorcha que alumbra en lugar oscuro hasta que el día esclarezca, y el lucero de la mañana salga en vuestros corazones:

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

We have the more sure word of prophecy; and you do well that you heed it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts,

sachant ceci premièrement, qu’aucune prophétie de l’écriture ne s’interprète elle-même.

Entendiendo primero esto, que ninguna profecía de la Escritura es de particular interpretación;

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Car †la prophétie n’est jamais venue par la volonté de l’homme, mais de saints hommes de Dieu ont parlé, étant poussés par l’Esprit Saint.

Porque la profecía no fué en los tiempos pasados traída por voluntad humana, sino los santos hombres de Dios hablaron siendo inspirados del Espíritu Santo.

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
