SIMON PIETRO, servitore ed apostolo di Gesù Cristo, a coloro che hanno ottenuta fede di pari prezzo che noi, nella giustizia dell'Iddio e Salvator nostro, Gesù Cristo;

SIMÓN Pedro, siervo y apóstol de Jesucristo, á los que habéis alcanzado fe igualmente preciosa con nosotros en la justicia de nuestro Dios y Salvador Jesucristo:

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

grazia e pace vi sia moltiplicata nella conoscenza di Dio, e di Gesù, nostro Signore.

Gracia y paz os sea multiplicada en el conocimiento de Dios, y de nuestro Señor Jesús.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

SICCOME la sua potenza divina ci ha donate tutte le cose, che appartengono alla vita ed alla pietà, per la conoscenza di colui che ci ha chiamati per la sua gloria e virtù;

Como todas las cosas que pertenecen á la vida y á la piedad nos sean dadas de su divina potencia, por el conocimiento de aquel que nos ha llamado por su gloria y virtud:

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue,

per le quali ci son donate le preziose e grandissime promesse; acciocchè per esse voi siate fatti partecipi della natura divina, essendo fuggiti dalla corruzione in concupiscenza, che è nel mondo;

Por las cuales nos son dadas preciosas y grandísimas promesas, para que por ellas fueseis hechos participantes de la naturaleza divina, habiendo huído de la corrupción que está en el mundo por concupiscencia.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.

voi ancora simigliantemente, recando a questo stesso ogni studio, sopraggiungete alla fede vostra la virtù, e alla virtù la conoscenza;

Vosotros también, poniendo toda diligencia por esto mismo, mostrad en vuestra fe virtud, y en la virtud ciencia;

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge;

e alla conoscenza la continenza, e alla continenza la sofferenza, e alla sofferenza la pietà;

Y en la ciencia templanza, y en la templanza paciencia, y en la paciencia temor de Dios;

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control, perseverance; and in perseverance, godliness;

e alla pietà l'amor fraterno, e all'amor fraterno la carità.

Y en el temor de Dios, amor fraternal, y en el amor fraternal caridad.

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

and in godliness, brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.

Perciocchè, se queste cose sono ed abbondano in voi, non vi renderanno oziosi, nè sterili nella conoscenza del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo.

Porque si en vosotros hay estas cosas, y abundan, no os dejarán estar ociosos, ni estériles en el conocimiento de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to not be idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Poichè colui nel quale queste cose non sono, è cieco, di corta vista, avendo dimenticato il purgamento de' suoi vecchi peccati.

Mas el que no tiene estas cosas, es ciego, y tiene la vista muy corta, habiendo olvidado la purificación de sus antiguos pecados.

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

For he who lacks these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins.

Perciò, fratelli, vie più studiatevi di render ferma la vostra vocazione ed elezione; perciocchè, facendo queste cose, non v'intopperete giammai.

Por lo cual, hermanos, procurad tanto más de hacer firme vuestra vocación y elección; porque haciendo estas cosas, no caeréis jamás.

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.

Imperocchè così vi sarà copiosamente porta l'entrata all'eterno regno del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo.

Porque de esta manera os será abundantemente administrada la entrada en el reino eterno de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo.

For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

For thus you will be richly supplied with the entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Perciò io non trascurerò di rammemorarvi del continuo queste cose; benchè siate già intendenti, e confermati nella presente verità.

Por esto, yo no dejaré de amonestaros siempre de estas cosas, aunque vosotros las sepáis, y estéis confirmados en la verdad presente.

Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you of these things, though you know them and are established in the present truth.

Or io stimo esser cosa ragionevole, che, mentre io sono in questa tenda, io vi risvegli per ricordo;

Porque tengo por justo, en tanto que estoy en este tabernáculo, de incitaros con amonestación:

Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

I think it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you,

sapendo che fra poco la mia tenda ha da essere posta giù; siccome ancora il Signor nostro Gesù Cristo me l'ha dichiarato.

Sabiendo que brevemente tengo de dejar mi tabernáculo, como nuestro Señor Jesucristo me ha declarado.

Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

Ma io mi studierò che ancora, dopo la mia partenza, abbiate il modo di rammemorarvi frequentemente queste cose.

También yo procuraré con diligencia, que después de mi fallecimiento, vosotros podáis siempre tener memoria de estas cosas.

Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

Yes, I will make every effort that you may always be able to remember these things even after my departure.

Poichè non vi abbiamo data a conoscer la potenza e l'avvenimento del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, andando dietro a favole artificiosamente composte; ma essendo stati spettatori della maestà di esso.

Porque no os hemos dado á conocer la potencia y la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, siguiendo fábulas por arte compuestas; sino como habiendo con nuestros propios ojos visto su majestad.

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

For we didn’t follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Perciocchè egli ricevette da Dio Padre onore e gloria, essendogli recata una cotal voce dalla magnifica gloria: Questi è il mio diletto Figliuolo, nel quale io ho preso il mio compiacimento.

Porque él había recibido de Dios Padre honra y gloria, cuando una tal voz fué á él enviada de la magnífica gloria: Este es el amado Hijo mío, en el cual yo me he agradado.

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

For he received from God the Father honor and glory when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

E noi udimmo questa voce recata dal cielo, essendo con lui sul monte santo.

Y nosotros oímos esta voz enviada del cielo, cuando estábamos juntamente con él en el monte santo.

And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

We heard this voice come out of heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.

Noi abbiamo ancora la parola profetica più ferma, alla quale fate bene di attendere, come ad una lampana rilucente in un luogo scuro, finchè schiarisca il giorno, e che la stella mattutina sorga ne' cuori vostri;

Tenemos también la palabra profética más permanente, á la cual hacéis bien de estar atentos como á una antorcha que alumbra en lugar oscuro hasta que el día esclarezca, y el lucero de la mañana salga en vuestros corazones:

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

We have the more sure word of prophecy; and you do well that you heed it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts,

sapendo questo imprima, che alcuna profezia della scrittura non è di particolare interpretazione.

Entendiendo primero esto, que ninguna profecía de la Escritura es de particular interpretación;

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Perciocchè la profezia non fu già recata per volontà umana; ma i santi uomini di Dio hanno parlato, essendo sospinti dallo Spirito Santo.

Porque la profecía no fué en los tiempos pasados traída por voluntad humana, sino los santos hombres de Dios hablaron siendo inspirados del Espíritu Santo.

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
