Os amonitas defendiam os portões da cidade enquanto os sírios de Zobá e de Reobe e os homens de Tobe e Maaca posicionaram-se nos campos abertos.

Y saliendo los hijos de Ammón, ordenaron sus escuadrones á la entrada de la puerta: mas los Siros de Soba, y de Rehob, y de Is-tob, y de Maaca, estaban de por sí en el campo.
