2 Samuel 10

E Ioab, veggendo che la battaglia era volta contro a lui, davanti e dietro, fece una cernita d'infra tutti gli uomini scelti d'Israele, ed ordinò quelli contro a' Siri.

Viendo pues Joab que había escuadrones delante y detrás de él, entresacó de todos los escogidos de Israel, y púsose en orden contra los Siros.

When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:
