2 Samuel 10

Or il arriva après cela que le Roi des enfants de Hammon mourut, et Hanun son fils régna en sa place.

DESPUÉS de esto aconteció, que murió el rey de los hijos de Ammón: y reinó en lugar suyo Hanún su hijo.

And it came to pass after this, that the king of the children of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his stead.

After this, the king of the children of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his place.

Et David dit : J’userai de gratuité envers Hanun, fils de Nahas, comme son père a usé de gratuité envers moi ; ainsi David lui envoya ses serviteurs pour le consoler de la mort de son père. Et les serviteurs de David vinrent au pays des enfants de Hammon.

Y dijo David: Yo haré misericordia con Hanún hijo de Naas, como su padre la hizo conmigo. Y envió David sus siervos á consolarlo por su padre. Mas llegados los siervos de David á la tierra de los hijos de Ammón,

Then said David, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father shewed kindness unto me. And David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father. And David’s servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.

David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent by his servants to comfort him concerning his father. David’s servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.

Mais les principaux d’entre les enfants de Hammon dirent à Hanun leur Seigneur : Penses-tu que ce soit pour honorer ton père, que David t’a envoyé des consolateurs ? N’est-ce pas pour reconnaître exactement la ville, et pour l’épier afin de la détruire, que David a envoyé ses serviteurs vers toi ?

Los príncipes de los hijos de Ammón dijeron á Hanún su señor: ¿Te parece que por honrar David á tu padre te ha enviado consoladores? ¿no ha enviado David sus siervos á ti por reconocer é inspeccionar la ciudad, para destruirla?

And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?

But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun their lord, “Do you think that David honors your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Hasn’t David sent his servants to you to search the city, to spy it out, and to overthrow it?”

Hanun donc prit les serviteurs de David, et fit raser la moitié de leur barbe, et couper la moitié de leurs habits jusqu’aux hanches ; puis il les renvoya.

Entonces Hanún tomó los siervos de David, y rapóles la mitad de la barba, y cortóles los vestidos por la mitad hasta las nalgas, y despachólos.

Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.

Lo cual como fué hecho saber á David, envió á encontrarles, porque ellos estaban en extremo avergonzados; y el rey hizo decirles: Estaos en Jericó hasta que os vuelva á nacer la barba, y entonces regresaréis.

When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

Or les enfants de Hammon voyant qu’ils s’étaient mis en mauvaise odeur auprès de David, envoyèrent pour lever à leurs dépens vingt mille fantassins des Syriens de Beth-réhob, et des Syriens de Tsoba, et mille hommes du Roi de Mahaca, et douze mille hommes de ceux de Tob.

Y viendo los hijos de Ammón que se habían hecho odiosos á David, enviaron los hijos de Ammón y tomaron á sueldo á los Siros de la casa de Rehob, y á los Siros de Soba, veinte mil hombres de á pie: y del rey de Maaca mil hombres, y de Is-tob doce mil hombres.

And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth-rehob, and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ish-tob twelve thousand men.

When the children of Ammon saw that they had become odious to David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth Rehob and the Syrians of Zobah, twenty thousand footmen, and the king of Maacah with one thousand men, and the men of Tob twelve thousand men.

Ce que David ayant appris, il envoya Joab et toute l’armée, savoir les plus vaillants.

Lo cual como oyó David, envió á Joab con todo el ejército de los valientes.

And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.

Et les enfants de Hammon sortirent, et se rangèrent en bataille à l’entrée de la porte ; et les Syriens de Tsoba, et de Réhob, et ceux de Tob et de Mahaca étaient à part dans la campagne.

Y saliendo los hijos de Ammón, ordenaron sus escuadrones á la entrada de la puerta: mas los Siros de Soba, y de Rehob, y de Is-tob, y de Maaca, estaban de por sí en el campo.

And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entering in of the gate: and the Syrians of Zoba, and of Rehob, and Ish-tob, and Maacah, were by themselves in the field.

Et Joab voyant que leur armée était tournée contre lui, devant et derrière, prit des hommes d’élite d’entre tous ceux d’Israël et les rangea contre les Syriens ;

Viendo pues Joab que había escuadrones delante y detrás de él, entresacó de todos los escogidos de Israel, y púsose en orden contra los Siros.

When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:

Et il donna la conduite du reste du peuple à Abisaï son frère, qui le rangea contre les enfants de Hammon.

Entregó luego lo que quedó del pueblo en mano de Abisai su hermano, y púsolo en orden para encontrar á los Ammonitas.

And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, that he might put them in array against the children of Ammon.

Et Joab lui dit : Si les Syriens sont plus forts que moi, tu me viendras délivrer ; et si les enfants de Hammon sont plus forts que toi, j’irai aussi pour te délivrer.

Y dijo: Si los Siros me fueren superiores, tú me ayudarás; y si los hijos de Ammón pudieren más que tú, yo te daré ayuda.

And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then I will come and help thee.

He said, “If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you shall help me; but if the children of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will come and help you.

Sois vaillant, et portons-nous vaillamment pour notre peuple, et pour les villes de notre Dieu ; et que l’Eternel fasse ce qu’il lui semblera bon.

Esfuérzate, y esforcémonos por nuestro pueblo, y por las ciudades de nuestro Dios: y haga Jehová lo que bien le pareciere.

Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good.

Alors Joab et le peuple qui était avec lui s’approchèrent pour donner bataille aux Syriens ; et les Syriens s’enfuirent de devant lui.

Y acercóse Joab, y el pueblo que con él estaba, para pelear con los Siros; mas ellos huyeron delante de él.

And Joab drew nigh, and the people that were with him, unto the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.

So Joab and the people who were with him came near to the battle against the Syrians, and they fled before him.

Et les enfants de Hammon voyant que les Syriens avaient pris la fuite, s’enfuirent aussi de devant Abisaï, et entrèrent dans la ville ; et Joab s’en retourna de la guerre contre les enfants de Hammon, et vint à Jérusalem.

Entonces los hijos de Ammón, viendo que los Siros habían huído, huyeron también ellos delante de Abisai, y entráronse en la ciudad. Y volvió Joab de los hijos de Ammón, y vínose á Jerusalem.

And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they also before Abishai, and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.

Mais les Syriens voyant qu’ils avaient été battus par ceux d’Israël, se rallièrent ensemble.

Y envió Hadad-ezer, y sacó los Siros que estaban de la otra parte del río, los cuales vinieron á Helam, llevando por jefe á Sobach general del ejército de Hadad-ezer.

And Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syrians that were beyond the river: and they came to Helam; and Shobach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went before them.

Ce qui ayant été rapporté à David, il assembla tout Israël, et passa le Jourdain, et vint à Hélam ; et les Syriens se rangèrent en bataille contre David, et combattirent contre lui.

Y como fué dado aviso á David, juntó á todo Israel, y pasando el Jordán vino á Helam: y los Siros se pusieron en orden contra David, y pelearon con él.

And when it was told David, he gathered all Israel together, and passed over Jordan, and came to Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him.

And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, who died there.

Et quand tous les Rois serviteurs de Hadadhézer eurent vu qu’ils avaient été battus par ceux d’Israël, ils firent la paix avec Israël, et leur furent assujettis ; et les Syriens craignirent de plus secourir les enfants de Hammon.

Viendo pues todos los reyes que asistían á Hadad-ezer, como habían ellos sido derrotados delante de Israel, hicieron paz con Israel, y sirviéronle; y de allí adelante temieron los Siros de socorrer á los hijos de Ammón.

And when all the kings that were servants to Hadarezer saw that they were smitten before Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more.
