2 Samuel 13

Après cela, il arriva qu'Absalom, fils de David, ayant une sœur qui était belle et qui s'appelait Thamar, Amnon, fils de David, l'aima.

ACONTECIÓ después de esto, que teniendo Absalom hijo de David una hermana hermosa que se llamaba Thamar, enamoróse de ella Amnón hijo de David.

And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.

Amnon se tourmentait, jusqu'à se rendre malade, au sujet de Thamar, sa sœur ; car elle était vierge, et il semblait impossible à Amnon de lui rien faire.

Y estaba Amnón angustiado hasta enfermar, por Thamar su hermana: porque por ser ella virgen, parecía á Amnón que sería cosa dificultosa hacerle algo.

And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.

Amnon was so troubled that he became sick because of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed hard to Amnon to do anything to her.

Amnon avait un ami, nommé Jonadab, fils de Sammaa, frère de David, et Jonadab était un homme fort avisé.

Y Amnón tenía un amigo que se llamaba Jonadab, hijo de Simea, hermano de David: y era Jonadab hombre muy astuto.

But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.

Il lui dit : « Pourquoi es-tu ainsi défait, fils du roi, chaque matin ? Ne me l'indiqueras-tu pas ? » Amnon lui répondit : « J'aime Thamar, sœur de mon frère Absalom. »

Y éste le dijo: Hijo del rey, ¿por qué de día en día vas así enflaqueciendo? ¿no me lo descubrirás á mí? Y Amnón le respondió: Yo amo á Thamar la hermana de Absalom mi hermano.

And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king’s son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.

He said to him, “Why, son of the king, are you so sad from day to day? Won’t you tell me?” Amnon said to him, “I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.”

Jonadab lui dit : « Mets-toi au lit et fais le malade. Quand ton père viendra te voir, tu lui diras : Permets, je te prie, que Thamar, ma sœur, vienne me donner à manger, et qu'elle prépare le mets sous mes yeux, afin que je le voie, et je mangerai de sa main. »

Y Jonadab le dijo: Acuéstate en tu cama, y finge que estás enfermo; y cuando tu padre viniere á visitarte, dile: Ruégote que venga mi hermana Thamar, para que me conforte con alguna comida, y aderece delante de mí alguna vianda, para que viendo yo, la coma de su mano.

And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.

Jonadab said to him, “Lay down on your bed and pretend to be sick. When your father comes to see you, tell him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me bread to eat, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’”

Amnon se coucha et fit le malade. Le roi vint le voir, et Amnon dit au roi : « Je te prie, que Thamar, ma sœur, vienne faire deux gâteaux sous mes yeux, et que je les mange de sa main. »

Acostóse pues Amnón, y fingió que estaba enfermo, y vino el rey á visitarle: y dijo Amnón al rey: Yo te ruego que venga mi hermana Thamar, y haga delante de mí dos hojuelas, que coma yo de su mano.

So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.

So Amnon lay down and faked being sick. When the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, “Please let my sister Tamar come and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.”

David envoya dire à Thamar dans la maison : « Va à la maison de ton frère Amnon et prépare-lui un mets. »

Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother Amnon’s house, and dress him meat.

Thamar alla chez son frère Amnon, qui était couché. Prenant de la pâte, elle la pétrit, la mit en gâteaux sous ses yeux et fit cuire les gâteaux ;

Y fué Thamar á casa de su hermano Amnón, el cual estaba acostado; y tomó harina, y amasó é hizo hojuelas delante de él, y aderezólas.

So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.

And she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him.

Amnon dit à Thamar : « Apporte le mets dans l'alcôve, et que je le mange de ta main. » Thamar prit les gâteaux qu'elle avait faits, et les apporta à son frère Amnon dans l'alcôve.

Entonces Amnón dijo á Thamar: Trae la comida á la alcoba, para que yo coma de tu mano. Y tomando Thamar las hojuelas que había aderezado, llevólas á su hermano Amnón á la alcoba.

And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.

Amnon said to Tamar, “Bring the food into the room, that I may eat from your hand.” Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the room to Amnon her brother.

Comme elle les lui présentait à manger, il la saisit et lui dit : « Viens, couche avec moi, ma sœur. »

And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister.

Elle lui répondit : « Non, mon frère, ne me déshonore pas, car on n'agit point ainsi en Israël ; ne commets pas cette infamie.

Ella entonces le respondió: No, hermano mío, no me hagas fuerza; porque no se ha de hacer así en Israel. No hagas tal desacierto.

And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.

Moi, où irais-je porter ma honte ? Et toi, tu serais comme l'un des infâmes en Israël. Parles-en au roi, je te prie, et il ne refusera pas de me donner à toi. »

Porque, ¿dónde iría yo con mi deshonra? Y aun tú serías estimado como uno de los perversos en Israel. Ruégote pues ahora que hables al rey, que no me negará á ti.

And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.

As for me, where would I carry my shame? And as for you, you will be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, please speak to the king; for he will not withhold me from you.”

Mais il ne voulut pas écouter sa voix ; plus fort qu'elle, il la violenta et coucha avec elle.

Mas él no la quiso oir; antes pudiendo más que ella la forzó, y echóse con ella.

Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.

Aussitôt Amnon eut pour elle une très forte aversion, et la haine dont il la haït fut plus forte que l'amour dont il l'avait aimée ; et Amnon lui dit : « Lève-toi, va-t-en ! »

Aborrecióla luego Amnón de tan grande aborrecimiento, que el odio con que la aborreció fué mayor que el amor con que la había amado. Y díjole Amnón: Levántate y vete.

Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.

Then Amnon hated her with exceedingly great hatred; for the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. Amnon said to her, “Arise, be gone!”

Elle lui répondit : « Au mal que tu m'as fait, n'ajoute pas le mal plus grand encore de me chasser. » Mais, sans vouloir l'écouter,

Y ella le respondió: No es razón; mayor mal es éste de echarme, que el que me has hecho. Mas él no la quiso oir:

And she said unto him, There is no cause: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not hearken unto her.

She said to him, “Not so, because this great wrong in sending me away is worse than the other that you did to me!” But he would not listen to her.

il appela le garçon qui le servait et dit : « Jetez cette femme dehors, loin de moi ; et ferme la porte derrière elle. »

Antes llamando su criado que le servía dijo: Echame ésta allá fuera, y tras ella cierra la puerta.

Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.

Or elle avait une robe longue, car c'était le vêtement que portaient les filles du roi encore vierges. Le serviteur d'Amnon la mit dehors et ferma la porte derrière elle.

Y tenía ella sobre sí una ropa de colores, traje que las hijas vírgenes de los reyes vestían. Echóla pues fuera su criado, y cerró la puerta tras ella.

And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king’s daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.

Thamar prit de la poussière et la mit sur sa tête ; elle déchira la longue robe qu'elle portait et, mettant la main sur sa tête, elle s'en alla en poussant des cris.

Entonces Thamar tomó ceniza, y esparcióla sobre su cabeza, y rasgó la ropa de colores de que estaba vestida, y puestas sus manos sobre su cabeza, fuése gritando.

And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.

Absalom, son frère, lui dit : « Ton frère Amnon a-t-il été avec toi ? Maintenant, ma sœur, tais-toi, c'est ton frère ; ne prends pas cette affaire à cœur. » Et Thamar demeura, désolée, dans la maison de son frère Absalom.

Y díjole su hermano Absalom: ¿Ha estado contigo tu hermano Amnón? Pues calla ahora, hermana mía: tu hermano es; no pongas tu corazón en este negocio. Y quedóse Thamar desconsolada en casa de Absalom su hermano.

And Absalom her brother said unto her, Hath Amnon thy brother been with thee? but hold now thy peace, my sister: he is thy brother; regard not this thing. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom’s house.

Absalom her brother said to her, “Has Amnon your brother been with you? But now hold your peace, my sister. He is your brother. Don’t take this thing to heart.” So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom’s house.

Lorsque le roi David apprit toutes ces choses, il fut très irrité. (* La Vulgate ajoute : Mais il ne voulut pas contrister l'esprit d'Amnon, son fils, car il l'aimait comme étant son premier né. *) —

Absalom n'adressait plus aucune parole, bonne ou mauvaise, à Amnon, car Absalom haïssait Amnon, à cause de l'outrage fait à Thamar, sa sœur.

Deux ans après, Absalom avait les tondeurs à Baal-Hasor, près d'Ephraïm, et Absalom invita tous les fils du roi.

Y aconteció pasados dos años, que Absalom tenía esquiladores en Bala-hasor, que está junto á Ephraim; y convidó Absalom á todos los hijos del rey.

And it came to pass after two full years, that Absalom had sheepshearers in Baal-hazor, which is beside Ephraim: and Absalom invited all the king’s sons.

Absalom alla trouver le roi et dit : « Voici que ton serviteur a les tondeurs ; que le roi et ses domestiques viennent chez ton serviteur. »

Y vino Absalom al rey, y díjole: He aquí, tu siervo tiene ahora esquiladores: yo ruego que venga el rey y sus siervos con tu siervo.

And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheepshearers; let the king, I beseech thee, and his servants go with thy servant.

Absalom came to the king and said, “See now, your servant has sheep shearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

Et le roi dit à Absalom : « Non, mon fils, nous n'irons pas tous, de peur que nous ne te soyons à charge. » Absalom fit des instances, mais le roi ne voulut pas y aller, et il le bénit.

Y respondió el rey á Absalom: No, hijo mío, no vamos todos, porque no te hagamos costa. Y aunque porfió con él, no quiso ir, mas bendíjolo.

And the king said to Absalom, Nay, my son, let us not all now go, lest we be chargeable unto thee. And he pressed him: howbeit he would not go, but blessed him.

The king said to Absalom, “No, my son, let’s not all go, lest we be burdensome to you.” He pressed him; however he would not go, but blessed him.

Alors Absalom dit : « Si tu ne viens pas, permets du moins à Amnon, mon frère, de venir avec nous. » Le roi répondit : « Pourquoi irait-il avec toi ? »

Entonces dijo Absalom: Si no, ruégote que venga con nosotros Amnón mi hermano. Y el rey le respondió: ¿Para qué ha de ir contigo?

Then said Absalom, If not, I pray thee, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said unto him, Why should he go with thee?

Then Absalom said, “If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us.” The king said to him, “Why should he go with you?”

Absalom ayant insisté, le roi laissa aller avec lui Amnon et tous les fils du roi.

Absalom donna cet ordre à ses serviteurs : « Faites attention ! Quand le cœur d'Amnon sera gavé par le vin et que je vous dirai : Frappez Amnon ! vous le tuerez. Ne craignez pas ; n'est-ce pas moi qui vous l'ai commandé ? Soyez fermes et montrez du courage ! »

Y había Absalom dado orden á sus criados, diciendo: Ahora bien, mirad cuándo el corazón de Amnón estará alegre del vino, y en diciéndoos yo, Herid á Amnón, entonces matadle, y no temáis; que yo os lo he mandado. Esforzaos pues, y sed valientes.

Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.

Absalom commanded his servants, saying, “Mark now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine; and when I tell you, ‘Strike Amnon,’ then kill him. Don’t be afraid. Haven’t I commanded you? Be courageous, and be valiant!”

Les serviteurs d'Absalom firent à Amnon comme Absalom l'avait ordonné. Et tous les fils du roi se levant, montèrent chacun sur sa mule et s'enfuirent.

Y los criados de Absalom hicieron con Amnón como Absalom lo había mandado. Levantáronse luego todos los hijos del rey, y subieron todos en sus mulos, y huyeron.

And the servants of Absalom did unto Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king’s sons arose, and every man gat him up upon his mule, and fled.

Comme ils étaient encore en chemin, ce bruit arriva à David : « Absalom a tué tous les fils du roi, et il n'en est pas resté un seul. »

Y estando aún ellos en el camino, llegó á David el rumor que decía: Absalom ha muerto á todos los hijos del rey, que ninguno de ellos ha quedado.

And it came to pass, while they were in the way, that tidings came to David, saying, Absalom hath slain all the king’s sons, and there is not one of them left.

While they were on the way, the news came to David, saying, “Absalom has slain all the king’s sons, and there is not one of them left!”

Le roi se leva, déchira ses vêtements et se coucha par terre, et tous ses serviteurs se tenaient là, les vêtements déchirés.

Entonces levantándose David, rasgó sus vestidos, y echóse en tierra, y todos sus criados, rasgados sus vestidos, estaban delante.

Then the king arose, and tare his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent.

Jonadab, fils de Semmaa, frère de David, prit la parole et dit : « Que mon seigneur ne dise point qu'on a tué tous les jeunes gens, fils du roi ; Amnon seul est mort. C'est une chose qui était sur les lèvres d'Absalom depuis le jour où Amnon a déshonoré Thamar, sa sœur.

Y Jonadab, hijo de Simea hermano de David, habló y dijo: No diga mi señor que han muerto á todos los jóvenes hijos del rey, que sólo Amnón es muerto: porque en boca de Absalom estaba puesto desde el día que Amnón forzó á Thamar su hermana.

And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the king’s sons; for Amnon only is dead: for by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother, answered, “Don’t let my lord suppose that they have killed all the young men, the king’s sons, for Amnon only is dead; for by the appointment of Absalom this has been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

Et maintenant, que le roi mon seigneur ne s'imagine pas que tous les fils du roi sont morts ; car Amnon seul est mort. »

Por tanto, ahora no ponga mi señor el rey en su corazón esa voz que dice: Todos los hijos del rey son muertos: porque sólo Amnón es muerto.

Now therefore let not my lord the king take the thing to his heart, to think that all the king’s sons are dead: for Amnon only is dead.

Et Absalom prit la fuite. Or le jeune homme placé en sentinelle leva les yeux et regarda, et voici qu'une grande troupe venait par la route occidentale, du côté de la montagne.

Jonadab dit au roi : « Voici les fils du roi qui arrivent ; les choses se sont passées comme le disait ton serviteur. »

Y dijo Jonadab al rey: He allí los hijos del rey que vienen: es así como tu siervo ha dicho.

And Jonadab said unto the king, Behold, the king’s sons come: as thy servant said, so it is.

Jonadab said to the king, “Behold, the king’s sons are coming! It is as your servant said.”

Comme il achevait de parler, les fils du roi arrivèrent et, élevant la voix, ils pleurèrent ; le roi aussi et tous ses serviteurs versèrent des larmes abondantes.

Y como él acabó de hablar, he aquí los hijos del rey que vinieron, y alzando su voz lloraron. Y también el mismo rey y todos sus siervos lloraron con muy grandes lamentos.

And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of speaking, that, behold, the king’s sons came, and lifted up their voice and wept: and the king also and all his servants wept very sore.

Mais Absalom s'enfuit et s'en alla chez Tholomaï, fils d'Ammiud, roi de Gessur. Et David faisait le deuil de son fils tous les jours.

Absalom s'enfuit et s'en alla à Gessur, et il y fut trois ans.
